* BonusEpisode: ''[[Recap/KyoryuSentaiZyurangerDinoVideo Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger Dino Video]]'' is the very first "Super Video" created in association with a ''Franchise/SuperSentai'' and Shogakukan publication Terebi-Kun, which are used to promote and show off aspects of the currently-airing series.
* MakingUseOfTheTwin: Episode 35 stars twin sisters Chiharu Tomita and Akiyo Tomita as Chisato Kameda, a kid ninja who employs SelfDuplication. They would later be cast for the same trope albeit a different context in ''Series/HyakujuuSentaiGaoranger''.
* NoExportForYou: {{Defied|Trope}}. Normally, Sentai doesn't get a release outside of Asia in its original form, with the ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' adaptations being released instead. But Saban actually agreed to sub-license ''Zyu'' out to Shout Factory, who has released it on DVD and also streams the show at times on their website. (Outside of the US and Canada, it's still ultimately played straight.)
* TheOriginalDarrin: Tsutomu Tareki, the narrator of the previous Sentai series ''Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman'', was replaced by Creator/ToruOhira, who narrated ''Series/KagakuSentaiDynaman'' nine years earlier.
* PropRecycling: The Daizyujin cockpit set is in fact the Jet Icarus cockpit set from [[Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman last season]], redressed only a little. Also, the glowing blue atom model orb thing appears again, this time appearing in Bandora's castle.
* RealLifeWritesThePlot: Zyutei Daizyuzin barely appears in show on it's own compared to the other mecha modes because the shoulder appliance made was so heavy it actually risked injuring the suit actor.
* RefittedForSequel:
** When it was in development under the WorkingTitle ''Kyōryū Sentai Saurusman'', the team was originally going to be comprised of were originally going to be comprised of 3 boys and 2 girls (Red Tyranno (male), Black Brachio (male), Green Tricera (male), Yellow Stego (female) and Blue Ptera (female)) and their secondary mech was originally going to be a Mammoth. A team with Yellow and Blue being the two females wouldn't happen until [[Series/HikoninSentaiAkibaranger 20 years later]].
** Early concept art shows that the [[https://web.archive.org/web/20220221165531/twitter.com/tavion_jackson/status/1495803553918636033 Zyuranger suits were originally going to have diamond patterns on the arms]]. This idea would latter be utilized for the [[Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger Abaranger suits]].
* RoleReprise: Creator/ToruOhira narrated ''Series/KagakuSentaiDynaman'' in 1983, and reprised that role nine years later.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Saban originally considered adapting ''Jetman'' for the first season of ''Mighty Morphin'' instead of this series; while it's likely that ''Zyuranger'' would've still made it stateside if ''Rangers'' had been a success, it's likely that only the mecha and SixthRanger costume would've appeared, given what happened when ''Series/GoseiSentaiDairanger'' was adapted into season 2 of ''Mighty Morphin''. And of course, there's the eternal question of whether a ''Jetman''-centric ''MMPR'' (if it was even called that!) would've caught on in the same way as the show did historically.

** Not so much for this series but for all the ones that would follow. The introduction of a recurring SixthRanger was an experimental gambit which at one point was planned to be a one-off before Burai's popularity paved the way for the concept to continue in ''Dairanger'' and beyond.
* WorkingTitle: ''Kyōryū Sentai Saurusman''
* YouLookFamiliar:
** The child actress who played Clotho shows up in the final story arc as one of the schoolkids who adopt the dinosaur eggs.
** Hideki Fujiwara (Dan) previously played the Birdman, also named Dan, from ''Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman''.
** Burai is also played by the same actor who was [[Series/DengekiSentaiChangeman Change Pegasus]].

* FanTranslation: Two different varieties exist, one that just translates everything into English, and one that replaces all of the names and terminology with their [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers American counterparts]] (and also replaces the Barza sprite seen in cutscenes with Zordon, which technically makes it a ROMHack).
