* BeamMeUpScotty: A case applying exclusively to American fans - an oft-quoted line from the game is "This upset Kirby immensely." This is indeed the line in the British English script. But in the American English script, the line is simply "This upset Kirby."
* BTeamSequel: The game is primarily developed by Creator/GoodFeel as opposed to Creator/HALLaboratory, with HAL only serving in a supervisory role (on top of composing the rearrangements).
* DuelingDubs: The American and British releases each have their own narrator. Recurring ''Franchise/StarFox'' voice actor David White narrates the American version, while the British version is narrated by the late journalist/broadcaster Paul Vaughan, who has done such for numerous [[Creator/TheBBC BBC]] science programmes and ''Film/{{Threads}}''.
* ExecutiveMeddling: A more positive example. The game started out as an original IP, but Good-Feel was dissatisfied with how it was turning out, so Nintendo suggested making it a ''Kirby'' game instead. Good-Feel was reluctant to do so initially, but eventually came to embrace the idea.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: While the original could potentially win an easiest to find [[Platform/NintendoWii Wii]] game contest, ''[[UpdatedRerelease Extra]]'' Epic Yarn didn't get so lucky due to releasing near the end of the [[Platform/Nintendo3DS 3DS's]] life and as a result selling poorly along with the console's [=eShop=] closing. All of these factors made the game spike up in prices online.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** The game was [[https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Iwata-Asks/Iwata-Asks-Kirby-s-Epic-Yarn/Iwata-Asks-Kirby-s-Epic-Yarn/1-Using-Real-Yarn-and-Cloth/1-Using-Real-Yarn-and-Cloth-206925.html originally]] pitched as a new IP, entitled ''Fluff's Epic Yarn'' (Japanese: ''Keito no Fluff'', or "Fluff of Yarn"). The game would have been mostly the same, but with original enemies and starring Fluff. The idea of having it be a ''Kirby'' title came about as a suggestion from Nintendo as a way to give the game a more cohesive identity after Good-Feel was stuck in a rut trying to figure out how to make their original idea work. While Good-Feel was initially apprehensive towards the idea of using Kirby, they quickly accepted and embraced the suggestion after realizing he fit perfectly into the game's setting, thus leading it to become a ''Kirby'' game. The original protagonist, Prince Fluff, would be kept intact as the supporting lead for the story and the Player 2 character. The internal codename was kept as "fluff" even for the final game.
** [[https://www.heypoorplayer.com/2017/03/17/tomoya-tomita-interview/ According to Tomoya Tomita,]] the game's composer, the original story of ''Fluff's Epic Yarn'' was that Prince Fluff had been separated from his mother and went on a journey to find her. With that in mind, he composed the first stage theme as a mixture of "soft and sweet, but also sad and unsettled". Once it became a ''Kirby'' game, he realized this song no longer fit the tone of the story, so he composed the Fountain Gardens theme as a variation of the Flower Fields theme. The original first stage theme ended up becoming the staff roll theme.
