* ActingForTwo:
** Both Lucius VI and Lucius VII are voiced by Creator/SeanCullen, and as father and son, they talk to each other a fair bit whenever the former gets unfrozen.
** Samy and Molotov are both voiced by Creator/DwayneHill, and they frequently interact with each other due to being Lucius' chief henchmen.
* AdoredByTheNetwork: The show did quite well in its native Canada (and the UK, where it aired on Creator/{{ITV}}'s "Toonattik" block and Creator/DisneyXD UK, back when it was known as Jetix), as Creator/{{Teletoon}} treated it as a flagship series. It aired new episodes on the Saturday morning Laugh Riot block, and reran on the Monday-Thursday (later Sunday) primetime block 3 Hours of Awesome, being promoted alongside other major Teletoon series of the time like ''WesternAnimation/JohnnyTest'' and ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'' and being cross-promoted through the characters appearing on ''WesternAnimation/{{Skatoony}}'' even after the show ended. This treatment from its home channel was probably what allowed the show to survive with a second season despite getting the short end of the stick in the United States.
* BannedEpisode: The episode "The Big Drip" never aired in USA, because [[MoralGuardians Disney XD]] found the content (which centered around Jimmy having a PottyEmergency) to be "inappropriate." Sister episode "The Masked Jackhammer" did air, but very rarely.
* ColbertBump: Two, in 2018 thanks to a review by Cosmodore, and in 2020 thanks to [=LSuperSonicQ=]'s search effort for the lost pilot.
* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer:
** The Creator/DisneyXD website referred to Lucius as the mayor of Miseryville when in reality, he's a CorruptCorporateExecutive. This is an understandable mistake, however, as [[MegaCorp Misery Inc.]] runs the town anyway.
** Due to the fact that the first season barely ever aired outside of Canada, there's a popular misconception that the second season is the ''only'' season - something that persists even on this wiki.
** Its pretty common to hear people say Creator/{{Teletoon}} produced the show when in reality, it was created by the Canadian television company Creator/BreakthroughEntertainment (Teletoon doesn't even have an in-house animation studio). In fact, Breakthrough have also created a few other notable Teletoon shows, such as ''WesternAnimation/AtomicBetty'' and ''WesternAnimation/RocketMonkeys''.
* CreatorBacklash:
** Creator/{{Brian Froud|Actor}} has expressed dislike for [[spoiler:Beezy's breakup with Saffi in "She Loves Me"]], saying that it was a step too far in the wrong direction.
** Series co-creator Sean Scott has voiced dissatisfaction with the infamous pilot, saying he believed its writing and animation were vastly inferior to that of the final product, and stating that it would probably be better for the original animation test to remain lost.
* CreatorsFavorite: Creator/{{Brian Froud|Actor}} has placed Beezy as being among his all-time favourite voice acting roles. He often shares ''Jimmy Two-Shoes'' stuff on his social media accounts long after the show ended.
* CrossdressingVoices:
** Mrs. Gherkin was voiced by Creator/DwayneHill.
** In Polish dub, Jimmy was voiced by a female voice actress.
* CrossRegionalVoiceActing: The series uses Toronto-based voice actors, with the notable exception of Heloise's VA, Creator/TabithaStGermain, who is instead part of Vancouver's [[Creator/TheOceanGroup Ocean Group]].
* DevelopmentGag:
** In "Best Prank Ever", Jimmy briefly wears a bowtie, much like he did in the pilot mentioned below and [[http://36.media.tumblr.com/c5008f9c94bc0f383222677e35646c89/tumblr_mmaeckO9xR1qj22v5o1_1280.jpg this concept art]].
** Around the Heinous mansion, portraits of Lucius in his [[http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20091221162552/jimmytwoshoes/images/thumb/1/1d/Lucy.jpg/830px-Lucy.jpg original suit from the pilot]] (which is brown-colored instead of black) can also be seen.
** "The Mysterious Mr. Ten" has even more references to the concept art, with pictures of the pilot version of Heloise (who is essentially the same but with grayer, more dead-like skin) on Mr. Ten's wall.
* ExecutiveMeddling: [[WhatCouldHaveBeen In the original pitch]], Jimmy was sent to Hell by accident, with Lucifer trying to crush his optimism and purity by sending out TheDreaded SerialKiller Heloise to torment him, only for her to fall in love with him as he spread joy and good cheer throughout Hell and befriended Lucifer's son Beelzebub. The product would have been exclusive to Teletoon and aimed at tweens and young teens, but when Creator/DisneyXD came on board to distribute the series to the US, they demanded the mature elements to be made more kid-friendly to fit their conservative target market. Thus Hell became Miseryville, Lucifer became Lucius Heinous VII, Beelzebub became Beezy J. Heinous, Heloise became a MadScientist, and Jimmy's past was simply left vague. The executive-mandated changes are even more obvious in the second season, where the show has further distanced itself from the original concept to become even DenserAndWackier.
* FakeBrit: Creator/JuanChioran and Creator/ChristianPotenza as Rudolpho and Peep, respectively.
* FandomNod: Edward Kay has admitted that "Panda-Monium" was a ShoutOut to Heloise's fans. "I'm successful!, I'm popular! That's right, I said popular."
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: The series' ''Miseryville Moments'' shorts, originally created as bonus content for Creator/{{Teletoon}}'s official website, are impossible to find outside of videos posted on places like [=YouTube=] (including this [[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDsMXCt3lxVxBpxeYnMRvdSC3FZhll4yP playlist]]), as well as a Teletoon podcast that's been [[https://archive.org/details/teletoon-podcast-july-6-2011 reuploaded]] to the Website/InternetArchive.
* InspirationForTheWork: According to co-creator Sean Scott, the basic idea for the show came about as basically asking "What would happen if a character with a personality like that of Pee-wee Herman ended up in Hell?"
* MissingEpisode: The original pilot, which was more of a 6-minute test animation, hasn't resurfaced and probably never will because the creators and various crewmembers even admitted to not have a copy, and that they don't remember which executives it was sold to.
* OnlySoManyCanadianActors: As a Canadian production, ''Jimmy Two-Shoes'' is required to only use Canadian actors under [=CanCon=] laws, with numerous prominent Canadian voice actors appearing in the series (all Toronto-based figures, with the notable exception of the Vancouver-based Creator/TabithaStGermain).
* OutOfOrder: The first half of Season 1 was aired this way; the first broadcast episode ("I Totally Shredded My Cheese" and "Heloise's Wish List") was the sixth episode in production order, while the fifth production episode ("The Masked Jackhammer" and "The Big Drip") was the seventeenth broadcast episode (likely due to difficulties in getting the episode shown outside of Canada).
* PlayingAgainstType: Creator/ChristianPotenza is often the voice of chill SurferDude-type characters in Canadian animation, such as [[WesternAnimation/{{Sixteen}} Jude Lizowski]] and [[WesternAnimation/TotalDrama Chris McLean]], so hearing him as the sneaky, Cockney-accented street urchin Peep is quite unusual.
* PopCultureUrbanLegends: The pilot, naturally, has been subjected to many, starting with the fact that the pilot itself is but a series of animation tests rather than a fully conceptualized first episode.
** The common story is that the pilot tells the story of how Jimmy ended up in Hell/Miseryville and met Lucius, Heloise, and Beezy. However, Edward Kay has stated that this is only covered in the pilot's intro sequence, and the actual animation tests are simply a montage of Jimmy and Heloise going on a date, with the latter trying to kill the former.
** A myth that's stated even on Website/TheOtherWiki is that American voice actor Creator/CharlieSchlatter was originally cast as the voice for Jimmy, but Edward Kay has confirmed Canadian talent Creator/CoryDoran was cast from the start.
** Heloise's scar is claimed by many to be a leftover from the pilot where she was allegedly shot in the head by the police before ending up in Hell. Edward Kay however has stated that the scar was simply added to Heloise's design to make her look more intimidating and otherwise has no significance.
** Another common myth about the pilot is that Beezy did not exist in the original concept and was added later in the show's development process. This claim originates from how unlike with Jimmy, Heloise, and Lucius, there is no concept art of Beezy from the pilot. However, Edward Kay has stated Beezy was indeed there from the start, just simply with the exact same characterization seen in the final product. Additionally, a single still of him from the pilot is known, although it is very hard to find.
* RecycledSoundtrack: Some of the background music was previously used in ''WesternAnimation/AtomicBetty'', another show created by Creator/BreakthroughEntertainment. Funny enough, Breakthrough would also later recycle a lot of the same soundtrack for ''WesternAnimation/ProducingParker''.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: Creator/DisneyXD licensed this show for distribution in the United States and treated it well for a couple of years, until July 2011, when the remaining episodes of the show were burned of at 2:00 am and 3:00 am. The series would continue to rerun in that same slot for two years before it left the channel completely in August 2013.
* ShortRunInPeru:
** The entire second season finished airing in the US before it even started in Canada.
** The first season was never aired in many countries. In those where it did, it was barely shown and is very hard to find outside of [=YouTube=] and the DVD release.
* ShrugOfGod:
** Edward Kay is deliberately vague on the true nature of Miseryville, having suggested that it's {{Hell}} (as originally intended and accepted by most), AnotherDimension, or even AllJustADream. However, he is consistent in saying that Jimmy ended up there after an accident knocked him out. See the link in WhatCouldHaveBeen.
** He also had the same ambiguous response when asked by eager fans if Jimmy and Heloise [[ShipTease would get together]].
* ThrowItIn: According to Creator/{{Brian Froud|Actor}} (the voice of Beezy) in [[https://courageousnerd.com/2020/07/16/total-drama-voice-actor-brian-froud-talks-harold-sam-and-jimmy-two-shoes-beezy-exclusive-interview/ this interview]], a lot of the show's dialogue was improvised and ad-libbed during recording sessions.
-->"We were given a lot of creative freedom on that show, thanks to creator Sean Scott and our directors Mark Evestaff and Merle Anne Ridley. Creator/CoryDoran and I recorded in a very small space together. We would improvise bits in character and a lot of that ended up in the show. There's even an improvised moment in the theme song for season 2 where I say 'Oh I came in too soon.' I was just trying to match my singing to the tempo and I literally came in too soon."
* TroubledProduction: Co-creator Edward Kay has admitted that he doesn't look back too fondly on his time working on the show due to this. More specifically, he admitted that ''Jimmy Two-Shoes'' fought a losing battle with ExecutiveMeddling from Creator/DisneyXD executives from the moment they entered the picture (Creator/{{Teletoon}} proved a lot easier to work with, being a lot more lax towards the show's tone), as they constantly rejected and objected to all of the darker ideas he and the writers tried to include in the show (and some of the lighter ones too, refusing to air one episode solely for having ToiletHumor). This became especially prominent in Season 2, where the show's {{retool}} completely severed all traces of its BlackComedy origins for good.
* VoicedDifferentlyInTheDub: Creator/DwayneHill uses a sniveling high-pitched voice for Samy that befits his status as Lucius' timid and ever-abused sycophant. In the Canadian French dub however, Creator/PhilippeMartin gives the character a low-pitched SimpletonVoice instead.
* WriteWhoYouKnow: In the discussion above, Edward Kay says that Samy was based on some former co-workers and classmates of his that he hated while Heloise was based on some unpleasant girlfriends he had in the past.
