* CrossDressingVoices: Hamtaro, Oxnard, Panda, Snoozer and Cappy are all voiced by women. Maxwell, Howdy, and Jingle were as well in the Japanese version.
** Boss averts this trope in most languages.
* HeyItsThatVoice: If (English) Laura ever said "[[Manga/{{Inuyasha}} Sit boy!]]", was there was an audible thud?
** Hamtaro is [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Daring Do]], [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyTales the original Bon Bon]], and [[XMenEvolution Jubilee]]
** Also, it makes sense that Dexter is a seemingly brainy character, considering [[WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy another role]] his English voice actor had.
*** In Mexican Spanish, Dexter is a ''DIFFERENT'' "Ed Edd n Eddy" character: Kevin! While Boss is Film/SpiderMan, while Snoozer is [[TheRaccoons Bert Raccoon]].
*** And in Brazilian Portuguese, he's [[WesternAnimation/DextersLaboratory another Dexter]]!
** [[Creator/BradSwaile Maxwell]] is [[Manga/DeathNote Light]], [[Creator/BrianDrummond Jingle]] is [[Manga/DeathNote Ryuk]], and [[Creator/CathyWeseluck Laura's mom]] is [[Manga/DeathNote Near]].
** Bijou is [[DragonTales Cassie]] and {{Madeline}}! Most recently, she became [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Diamond Tiara]]. [[PlayingAgainstType Yeah, I know]].
** Pashmina is [[WesternAnimation/SuperMarioBros Kootie Pie]] and [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Rarity]]!
** In Japan, [[ChihiroSuzuki Dexter]] is [[VideoGame/DisgaeaHourOfDarkness Mid-Boss]], Boss is [[VideoGame/TalesOfPhantasia Chester Barklight]] and [[Manga/{{Bleach}} Renji Abarai]], [[KoukiMiyata Stan]] is [[Manga/{{Bleach}} Yamada Hanataro]], [[Creator/HarunaIkezawa Sandy and Laura]] are both [[KingOfFighters Athena Asamiya]], [[ReiSakuma Pashmina]] is [[Manga/RanmaOneHalf Shampoo]], Maxwell is [[GurrenLagann Gimmy]], [[Creator/KazusaMurai Bijou]] is [[TokimekiMemorial Kaori Yae]], and Hamtaro is [[WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls Bubbles]].
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: The series have been off the air for ages, and many of the episodes were not released to DVD. And then those [=DVDs=] are no longer manufactured pretty hard to track down new (Amazon has a few new condition copies of the volumes scattered around the marketplace, but good luck finding all of the volumes in new condition). Also applies to the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-xW2q6ntSo Second season theme song]] which is [[ScrewedByTheNetwork only aired a few times in the series' entire run]]. And let's not get started about the episodes that have not been exported out of Japan in the first place...
* MissingEpisode: In the dub an episode explaining setsubun was skipped because it was too foreign of a concept to translate.
** There are in actual fact, at least 196 missing episodes left untranslated into English.
* NoExportForYou: The later seasons of the TV series and the spinoff TV series in it's entirety. Also, all the movies and half of the [=OVAs=], of which some were tie-ins with the games.
** The first Game Boy Color game and the first DS game. Also, the fourth game, ''Rainbow Rescue'', received a release in Europe and Japan, but not in the US.
** The ''Sega Pico'' and ''Advance Pico Beena'' titles. Expected, given that the latter was a straight case of ''No Export For You'' and the former pretty much died an early death outside Japan.
** The official kiddie ride by Ban-Dai/Banpresto is Japan-only and never exported. Expected, given that it came out when Cartoon Network was almost done screwing up the show elsewhere. And well, as a general rule, Japanese kiddie rides are almost never exported in the first place, although parallel imports in other Asian countries have been recorded.
** Introducing [[http://itunes.apple.com/jp/app//id486780475&mt=8 TwitHamtaro]]([[http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fitunes.apple.com%2Fjp%2Fapp%2F%2Fid486780475%26mt%3D8 translation]]), yet another Tweeter app for the [[IOSGames iPhone]], [[RecycledINSPACE with a Hamtaro skin!]] Want it? Sorry, it's only available on the Japanese iTunes Store, and thus only to those lucky enough to have a Japanese address and credit card!
* PlayingAgainstType: You know the awesome Creator/ScottMcNeil? Try to imagine him as a shy teacher who has a crippling fear of chickens. Yeah, he's Mr. Yoshi in the show.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: The second opening theme song only aired a few times (counting reruns) in the US, by accident. Yeah, Cartoon Network hates it for some reason.
* WriterRevolt: Hamtaro's placement on Toonami lead to a number of jokes by Williams Street.
