* TheCharacterDiedWithHim:
** Flattus Maximus was retired after the passing of his most recent portrayer, Cory Smoot, in 2011.
** After frontman [[http://wtvr.com/2014/03/24/gwar-founder-dave-brockie-found-dead-in-richmond-home/ Dave Brockie died of a heroin overdose]], the costume of his character Oderus Urungus was given a {{viking funeral}} pyre on Hadad's Lake just before GWAR-BQ in 2014.
** After Brent Purgason left the band in 2023, his character - Pustulus Maximus - was replaced with Grodius Maximus.
* CreatorBacklash: They HATE ''We Kill Everything'', and although they perform songs from it time to time, they bash it every opportunity they get. For a while on the message board, they even banned people who even mentioned it. Its poor commercial performance and the similarly poor live draw during the touring cycle for the album are also strongly implied to be the reasons why Danielle Stampe (Slymenstra Hymen) left the band.
** Some of the members didn't care much for ''Hell-O'' either, mainly for the sound production not sounding as good as they'd hoped. Former collaborator Chuck Varga claims he was so disgusted that when he first heard the final masters, he had to leave the room after just a few tracks.
* HeAlsoDid: They made the songs for the ''WesternAnimation/CodenameKidsNextDoor'' episode Operation F.O.O.D.F.I.T.E. They essentially altered the lyrics of The Private Pain of Techno Destructo and Gor Gor.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: The original issue of ''This Toilet Earth'' through Priority Records is the only version of the album to contain the song "B.D.F."[[note]]"Baby Dick Fuck"[[/note]]; all other releases of the album through Metal Blade Records remove the song, as the lyrics and subject matter were deemed too offensive.
* RoleEndingMisdemeanor: Kim Dylla, their first female member since Danielle Stampe, had to be fired because her alcoholism kept ruining several concerts. Her character, Vulvatron, has been put on indefinite hiatus since.
** Don Drakulich's Youtube channel, ''Sleazy Pictures After Dark'', was terminated due to his interview with controversial incel Styxenhammer and for his transphobic comments. It has since been moved to Rumble.
* TroubledProduction:
** The music video for "Surf of Syn" almost had the band arrested because they were filming, in full costume, in the Virginia state capitol building without permits. The fact that one of the scenes featured Oderus being hit by a car didn't help, either.
** The "Meat Sandwich" music video ends with Jesus being turned into barbecue after [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext losing a basketball game.]] It also ended with many cast members coming down with food poisoning because the meat was apparently undercooked.
