* CastTheRunnerUp: In an early promotion, Kazu was to be played by Keiichi Wada, with Keisuke Tsuchiya portraying Ryo; they switched prior to the beginning of filming.
* LateExportForYou: The show would be distributed in America by Shout Factory on November 10, 2015, 22 years after it had ended.
* MakingUseOfTheTwin: In Episode 25, the Copy Empress made evil duplicates of the Dairangers. Kazu's was played by Keisuke Tsuchiya's twin brother, Daisuke. The roles were later reversed when Daisuke went on to play [[Series/JuukouBFighter Blue Beet]] two years later, while Keisuke played his EvilCounterpart Black Beet.
* MilestoneCelebration: As ''Series/BattleFeverJ'' was still recognised as the start of ''Franchise/SuperSentai'' at the time, ''Dairanger'' was officially recognised as the 15th series with an anniversary logo and a special stage show. Due to the incorporation of ''Series/HimitsuSentaiGoranger'' and ''Series/JAKQDengekitai'', the 20th anniversary would be celebrated only [[Series/ChourikiSentaiOhranger two years later]].
* NoExportForYou: While the monsters, mecha, and SixthRanger got used in ''Franchise/PowerRangers'', Emperor Gorma would not be adapted until ''[[Series/PowerRangersWildForce Wild Force]]'', and the main five ranger suits never did until ''[[Series/PowerRangersMegaforce Super Megaforce]]'' 20 years later.
* TheOtherDarrin: Sugisaku Imagawa, the actor who originally played Kameo, left the show for health reasons, so his role was taken over by Tomihisa Naruse (who previously played Raita in ''Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman'') from Episode 29 and onward. [[spoiler:But since Kameo is just a ''human disguise'' of Daimugen, why not?]]
* PropRecycling: Iron-Face Choryu's armor skirt was originally made for Burai from the previous season.
* RecycledScript: Kujaku's subplot has strong similarity to the "Burai's lifespan" plot from the previous season. Seeking magic healing water to restore life-force, close to the end it's revealed it won't help the person and is instead needed for someone else, at the end character dies and [[AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence ascends]]. Additionally, the character is vengeance driven at first and causes damage to heroes and villains alike before having some sense knocked into them.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Although the suits were never used during ''Mighty Morphin'', Saban ''did'' reportedly plan to use them for a team of "Ancient Rangers" during ''Series/PowerRangersLostGalaxy''. However, those plans got derailed due to the Pink Ranger having to leave due to her battle with leukemia (fortunately, she survived). The only thing from those plans that seems to have made it into the final product was the morpher from the series, which was used for the team's SixthRanger (whose [[Series/SeijuuSentaiGingaman Sentai]] Counterpart used his sword to transform).
** Keisuke Tsuchiya was originally cast as Ryō and Keiichi Wada as Kazu, and they filmed early promotional material before it was decided to switch their roles because of Wada's martial arts skills.
** [[spoiler:Jin Matoba's Garouki form was initially going to have a SinisterScythe as shown by his [[https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/powerrangers/images/c/c8/Garoukiconceptart.png/revision/latest?cb=20150909055501 concept art]] and [[https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/powerrangers/images/4/4b/MMPR_Skelerena.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20170331141536 production image]]. However, he ended up not using it and instead attacked with his claws.]]
* WorkingTitle: The show was originally going to be titled ''Daikenger'' (which roughly means "Great Fist Ranger"). The Japanese version of Website/TheOtherWiki once claimed that [[UnfortunateName Chinaman]] was a working title, but this was actually disconfirmed by ''[[Film/KamenRiderXSuperSentaiSuperHeroTaisen Super Hero Taihen]]'' #6. Funnily enough, [[spoiler:the title got used by [[Series/HikoninSentaiAkibaranger an unoffical sentai show]], and explored a possible WhatCouldHaveBeen, under the title ''Chuuka Sentai Chinaman''.]]
