* EnforcedMethodActing: Taaffe O'Connell's screams were partly a result of how cold the KY jelly used for the slime was.
* ExecutiveMeddling: Roger Corman was contractually obligated to deliver a sex scene in the movie, which is what eventually lead to the creation of the infamous worm scene after earlier attempts at a more ordinary sex scene involving either Alluma or Dameia kept getting changed during scripting.
* FollowTheLeader: The film was heavily inspired by ''Film/{{Alien}}''.
* PropRecycling: The uniforms were left over from the recently-cancelled ''Series/BattlestarGalactica1978''.
* WagTheDirector: Creator/SidHaig didn't think the dialogue in the script matched the character of Quuhod, so he asked Creator/RogerCorman if he could play Quuhod as a near mute instead. Corman agreed, and let Haig portray Quuhod with almost no dialogue. Haig only says a single line in the whole movie.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Creator/MarkHamill was considered for a part and he was eager to do a horror film, but for one reason or another, he wasn't cast.
** Creator/KeithCarradine was considered for the role of Cabren.
** Dameia's death was originally simply just her being stripped topless and eaten by a monster. But as noted above Corman was obligated to deliver a sex scene of some sort to the financial backers. Once it was decided Dameia would have the scene, Corman rewrote her death to be a combination of both.
* WorkingTitle: ''Galaxy of Horror'', ''Quest'' and ''Mindwarp: An Infinity of Terror''.
