* CareerResurrection: Her single "Bad Girls" brought her back in the limelight in mid-2004, thanks to ''Series/ArrestedDevelopment'' and Portia [=DeRossi's=] pole dancing. There was also a brief one in the late 90's, thanks to ''Film/TheFullMonty'' and its use of "Hot Stuff."
* CreatorCouple: Summer met Bruce Sudano, the keyboardist for the band Brooklyn Dreams, which like Summer recorded for Casablanca Records, in 1977. They started writing songs together, then started dating, and finally got married in 1980. They worked together for the remainder of her life, with Sudano as her songwriting collaborator, keyboardist and manager.
* ExecutiveMeddling:
** After the major success of "Love to Love You Baby", Summer's label, Casablanca Records, wanted her to act as a sex symbol. Initially, despite unease, Summer went with the public image and followed the label's every instruction on what to wear, how to act and even what doctors and lawyers to use. This eventually led to CreatorBreakdown, and after recovery, Summer changed labels to Creator/GeffenRecords and became a born-again Christian.
** Geffen broke up the successful partnership Summer had enjoyed with producers Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte, rejecting the ''I'm a Rainbow'' album and imposing producers of their choice instead. She reunited with Moroder a few times in later years, but only ''after'' leaving Geffen.
