!! Tropes
* AccidentallyCorrectWriting: Crim Hollingsworth, Scott Thompson's First Nationsbut not really character, uses germ gel to get high. This was written as a loopy variant on the GRatedDrug, but just as they were about to begin shooting, a news story came out about reservations actually having problems with people drinking germ gel. Keep in mind the gag had already been written in by this point.
* EnforcedMethodActing: As Bruce pointed out, a FatSuit is really heavy to wear.
* RealLifeWritesTheHairstyle: One of Scott Thompson's characters is bald because Thompson's own hair was falling out from the chemotherapy he was undergoing at the time for cancer, and he found wearing a wig all the time very uncomfortable.
* RealitySubtext:
** Scott Thompson was undergoing chemo for stage one non-Hodgkin lymphoma during production. Dusty's baldness was really his own, and he only portrayed a few characters to keep his work load from getting too heavy. [[spoiler: Also, two of them die.]] Thankfully, he's fine now.
** Buttonhole the cat was inspired by Kevin [=McDonald's=] 20-year-old cat that required very, very costly vet bills to keep alive. The cat is also doing fine, if you take nature's side.
* RoleReprise:
** Once again, Bruce [=McCulloch=] and Mark [=McKinney=] play those two police officers.
** Mark also appears as the Chicken Lady from the original TV series during the jury selection scene.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** The miniseries was originally planned as a feature film, which would've served as a follow up to their 1996 movie Brain Candy.
** As mentioned above, , but originally it was supposed to be .

!! Fun facts
* Bruce [=McCulloch=] is the only main cast member to not play a woman in any episode.
