!!Film
* ActingForTwo: Bingo O'Malley plays both the doctor and Jordy's dad in "The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verill".
* {{Blooper}}: The PeekABooCorpse of Mrs. Danvers the cook in "Father's Day" obviously blinks when the closet door is opened, which is particularly conspicuous given that it's in a close-up of her face.
* DawsonCasting: Robert Harper plays teenage college student Charlie Gereson, even though he looks like he's in his mid-40s (Harper was 31 at the time).
* {{Defictionalization}}: An actual ''Creepshow'' comic was made adapting the movie's stories, although they were presented in a different order than they were in the film (and included scenes that didn't make the final cut of the movie).
* NeverWorkWithChildrenOrAnimals: During Fan Expo Canada 2015, Creator/GeorgeARomero had said that the cockroaches were the most expensive part of the movie, stating that the cockroaches cost fifty cents a piece, and they used more then 250,000 of them, a grand total of $125,000 on roaches alone.
* PlayingAgainstType:
** Anyone who is familiar with Creator/LeslieNielsen's later career prior to seeing this film will be in for a shock at how effortlessly he embodies the wicked character of Richard Vickers. While Vickers does have some LargeHam humor, he's still a far cry from a lot of the characters Nielsen became associated with playing.
** For that matter, Creator/EdHarris as lovable bumpkin Hank is also a far cry from Harris' typical edgy cop/villian/authority figure roles.
* ThoseTwoActors:
** In this case, three. The film reunites Creator/HalHolbrook, Creator/AdrienneBarbeau, and Creator/TomAtkins from "The Fog." Ironically, in that film, Holbrook and Atkins shared no scenes with Barbeau. In this film, Barbeau and Holbrook are married characters, and they share no scenes with Atkins.
** Also, Creator/FritzWeaver and Don Keefer who star together in "The Crate" were multiple episode alumnus of ''Series/TheTwilightZone1959''.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** The film began as a remake of the Amicus film "Tales From the Crypt", based off of the EC Comics line. In the end, it became somewhat of a tribute to the comics.
** According to [=IMDb=], "Something to Tide You Over" originally had a different climax. [[spoiler: In the initial draft, Vickers would be visited by undead Harry and Becky, who don't kill him. Vickers calls the police and reports the undead visitors to the disbelieving responding officers, who write him off as being drunk. Vickers attempts to play them a video recording that captured the pair of them, but it has been replaced by the video footage of Richard burying and taunting Harry. He's arrested immediately. There would then be a jump cut to Richard's trial, where he's convicted and sentenced to death, and a final jump cut to Richard being executed in the gas chamber. The last scene was to have been a hysterical Richard screaming he could "hold his breath for a long time" as the gas is killing him. The only thing left from this ending is Richard screaming hysterically about how he can hold his breath while buried neck deep as the tides come in.]]
** They're Creeping Up on You! was originally going to take place in a lush, carpeted penthouse apartment however because of the roaches this would be unworkable. So George A. Romero opted to make it more like a clean empty hospital like room.

!!Series

* MissingEpisode: Music/MarilynManson filmed an episode for the second season. The episode was pulled [[RoleEndingMisdemeanor after the singer was accused of abuse by multiple women]].
* PlayingAgainstType:
** Creator/TobinBell, best known for playing villains and creeps, plays a grizzled, but ultimately good-natured cop in "Gray Matter."
** Creator/KieferSutherland, best known for playing badasses and action heroes, plays an unscrupulous surgeon who, while physically fit, is by no means a badass and slowly goes insane in "Survivor Type".
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Originally, the Creator/StephenKing short story ''Survivor Type'' was going to be adapted into an episode. After the script was written, and Creator/JonBernthal was attached to star, it was decided that it would be too expensive to film and scrapped. It was later adapted into the first segment of the animated special, with Creator/KieferSutherland starring.
