* BuryYourArt:
** His original Japanese ''Pokémon Platinum'' videos, shot with a physical DS and a camera, were removed in 2011 because he didn't like how they came out and felt that they didn't fit with the rest of the videos that he'd made in the meantime. Due to fan demand and completing a proper playthrough of ''Platinum'', he reuploaded all of the videos in 2016.
** Chugga's "50 Facts" video was removed after a while thanks to much of the information in it becoming outdated as the years went on. It never saw an official reupload, but survives via fan copies.
* ColbertBump: Emile says outright he's playing certain games because he personally loves them and wants more fans to either know about the game, or convince his fans to give the game a second chance to impress them. Most of the time, this works, with many people even admitting to playing along with him or deciding to replay it after watching his [=LPs=]. The ones listed here are just a selection of many.
** ''Ōkami'' in particular got a lot more sales after he started playing it. Coincidentally, ''VideoGame/{{Okamiden}}'' was released near the end of his series, and likely gained popularity thanks to the first game's new fanbase.
** ''VideoGame/XenobladeChronicles1'' gained a much higher profile after Chugga began his LP, which was exasperated when Shulk was announced for ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros4'' during the LP's hiatus.
** Plus, several other [=LPers=] like WebVideo/BrainScratchCommentaries and LetsPlay/MasaeAnela have gotten more popular when Chugga collaberated with them.
* ContentLeak: During part 12 of his ''VideoGame/PokemonBlack2AndWhite2'' LP, Emile accidentally revealed the name of his Elekid an episode early by failing to censor it during the anachronistically presented battles on the Royal Unova.

* CreatorsApathy: Chugga [[https://youtu.be/P0WmKvVVbGs?t=4487 admitted in his 10th anniversary special]] that he had lost interest in ''VideoGame/SuperMarioRPG'' a few episodes into the project, but was forced to finish the LP because fans voted on it, resulting in a series he had no passion for.
* CreatorBacklash:
** In general, Emile tends to have a low opinion on his [=LPs=] of video games that have since been remade, as they now appear outdated in contrast to whatever changes and/or new content the remakes have to offer.
** Of all the things Emile has regretted doing, the biggest example has to be [[MemeticMutation Steve the Trooper]] from his VideoGame/{{Pikmin}} Let's Play. Although Chugga was initially fond of the character, the extreme lengths fans went to portray Steve as a MemeticBadass across all of social media made Chugga rather sick of Steve's memetic status. It doesn't help that those same fans were namedropping Steve in any and all ''Pikmin''-related media so often that other [=YouTubers=] had complained to Chugga about how their comments sections in their own ''Pikmin'' videos were [[FanMyopia filled with people asking about Steve with little-to-no context]], thus ruining the experience of playing the game for them. This has resulted in Emile having some rather [[BigNo volatile]] reactions to the name Steve being mentioned or referenced (intentionally or otherwise) in other projects, much to LetsPlay/ProtonJon's delight. [[ZigzaggedTrope Zig-zagged]] however in that he still indulges the fans with {{shout out}}s to him on occasion.
** In his [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZD-GkWRZag fifth anniversary video]], Chugga reveals that he personally thinks his early Lets Plays suck, mainly because he was so afraid to be himself back then. The fact that he was limited to only ten minute videos at the time forced Emile to rush through games, in stark contrast to the more in-depth playthroughs that attempt to show off everything they had to offer that he's since become known for. The current playlist description for his ''[[VideoGame/EarthBoundBeginnings Mother]]'' LP explicitly singles it out as his least favorite LP.
** Chugga admitted in the penultimate episode of ''VideoGame/Pikmin2'' that the process of Let's Playing the game made him realize he didn't like the game [[NostalgiaFilter nearly as much as he remembered]]. Emile concluded he found the game to be [[{{Sequelitis}} vastly inferior]] to [[VideoGame/Pikmin2001 the original]], despite thinking [[EvenBetterSequel the opposite]] going into the project.
** During one episode of his ''Majora's Mask'' LP, Chugga admits that he really doesn't like his ''VideoGame/SuperMarioSunshine'' series all that much. See CreatorBreakdown below for more details.
** While participating in an interview with Zelda Universe, Emile admitted that while he did enjoy playing through it, he wasn't all that happy with how his ''Link's Awakening'' LP went, citing that the game "wasn't a good fit" for him in the end.
** In a reply on Twitter, Emile revealed that he doesn't look back on the ''VideoGame/{{Okamiden}}'' LP too fondly, largely because of the amount of work required for it-- much of which required an unusually high amount of out-of-pocket money (largely due to him needing to build a DS capture card from ''scratch'', as good-quality capture cards for the system didn't exist at the time)-- and because of its poor reception among viewers (due to the game's relative obscurity and its nature as a ContestedSequel to the original ''VideoGame/{{Okami}}'').
** He stated in [[https://youtu.be/4VApn5nMJmM?t=3165 this panel]] that, in hindsight, he doesn't look back on Trifecta the Dodrio from his ''Pokemon XD'' series fondly.
** As he admitted in the second Demon Gate trial video, he deeply regrets his "research" done on ''VideoGame/{{Okami}}'''s final boss, Yami, [[WordOfDante and the trouble this caused the wikis]]. His claims that Yami's forms were based on man's destructive desires were based on a [=YouTube=] comment on Okami's OST, and he never got around to doing some digging to see if there was anything to back up this argument in Japanese mythology, as the note about this comment [[ScriptSwap got mixed up with the ones that he already confirmed]]. When he offered a new interpretation of Yami at the end of the final bonus video, he preempted it by stating that it was simply his personal theory and not based in any official statements.
** During Tim's playthrough of ''Videogame/LuigisMansion1'' on ''LetsPlay/TheRunawayGuys'', Emile admits that he heavily regrets talking about [[PopCultureUrbanLegends the supposed Safari Ghost who wanted to keep Luigi's head on a mount]], as it caused the myth to become ''much'' more widespread than it was initially, which culminated in a [=YouTube=] channel that did videos on lost media ''crediting Chugga as the so-called credible source'' for said rumor. The reason he even talked about it in the first place was because a fan wrote to him and requested he mention the Safari Ghost at some point, and Chugga naïvely took him at face value.
--->'''LetsPlay/ProtonJon:''' '''''[[AnAesop THIS IS WHY YOU FACT CHECK!!!]]'''''
** Emile stated on Twitter that he felt he didn't do enough research when making Pokémon bios during the LP of ''[[VideoGame/PokemonRubyAndSapphire Pokémon Emerald]]''. In retrospect, Emile feels he [[https://twitter.com/chuggaaconroy/status/1599268272356003840?s=20 disregarded too many Pokémon as viable encounters]].
** Chugga admitted in part 17 of ''VideoGame/PokemonBlack2AndWhite2'' that he regretted using Haywire the Zebstrika on his team in [[VideoGame/PokemonBlackAndWhite the first game.]] This is due to Haywire severely falling off in usefulness [[CantCatchUp halfway through the game]] and learning the winner of the nickname contest had plagiarized their name and reasoning from another website.
** In January 2024, LetsPlay/MasaeAnela [[https://twitter.com/MasaeAnela/status/1749980618572677542?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet stated on Twitter she was displeased with Chugga keeping her guest appearances]] in the ''VideoGame/Splatoon2'' LP. By the time the series was being uploaded, Masae was no longer friends with Emile and wished to sever any affiliation with him. Instead, the videos were uploaded without Masae’s consent, perpetuating the idea the two were still friends for another two years.
* CreatorBreakdown:
** He went through one during the ''VideoGame/SuperMarioSunshine'' LP for health reasons. [[StepfordSmiler He didn't let any of it show]], and only mentioned this well after the Let's Play was over with, during the ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask'' play-through.
** He underwent another one in late February of 2016, due to the passing of his cat, Teddy. The title of his first video since his week-long grieving period was titled "With us in Spiritomb," while the ones following "[[Film/QuantumOfSolace Quantum of Solaceon]]" were titled "Where the Lost Ones Go" and "Rainy Mood." For reference, his other video titles (including the aforementioned "Quantum of Solaceon") are lighthearted in tone, with the occasional ShoutOut. Since those videos were prerecorded, it's mainly the titles that gave an indicator of his emotional state. Luckily, following his return to his channel on February 29, he seems to have gotten better.
** Once ''VideoGame/ChronoTrigger'' ended, Chugga underwent another one while preparing for his next LP. He was intending to play ''[[VideoGame/PokemonMysteryDungeonRescueTeam Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team]]'', but unfortunately for him, his biggest fear going into his ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaSkywardSword Skyward Sword]]'' LP came true, being the release of its remake, ''Rescue Team DX''. It was announced just ''days'' before he was ready to announce his next LP, causing him to go through an emotional breakdown from being lost and confused. As such, Chugga needed to hastily come up with a new game to LP, and landed on ''VideoGame/KirbyTripleDeluxe''. His announcement video for the game fully showed off [[HeroicBSOD his fleeting grip on sanity]], but he managed to pull himself back together once he was fully into the LP.
** In the middle of ''VideoGame/XenobladeChronicles2'', Chugga underwent a ''nasty'' one that not only caused him to abandon all video games for an entire month, but end up going absolutely silent on Twitter with no announcements whatsoever. According to him, video games were bringing up a repressed traumatic experience, and he ended up losing all of his drive to play games.
** If his comment in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6jWWcLcwP8 this]] episode of the ''Splatoon 2'' LP ("Please {{ship|ping}} responsibly and not do it between real people.") is any indication, he may harbor some negative feelings towards people who have done that exact thing with him and his friends.
** After part 44 of ''VideoGame/PokemonBlack2AndWhite2'', Chugga went on hiatus after his pet cat, Kirby, unexpectedly passed away. This hiatus was prolonged by Emile getting severely ill, resulting in six weeks without videos.
* CreatorsFavorite: Chugga has had several favorites from over the years, both from characters he invents (I.E his ''Pokemon'' teams) and characters already in the games.
** He has admitted to being fond of the Archen line, having one in his main team for ''VideoGame/PokemonBlackAndWhite''.
** Almost every Pokemon team he has includes a Poison-type, his favorite typing.
** Chugga's favorite villagers throughout the LP of ''VideoGame/AnimalCrossingNewLeaf'' were Biscuit, Molly, Egbert, Pietro, and Shari.
** In terms of ''Franchise/{{Splatoon}}'' weaponry, he favors the Splatling-class weapons. In ''2'', his favorite is the Kensa .52 Gal.
* CreatorsOddball: With almost all of his work being Let's Plays and the occasional skit used as a trailer, Emile ends up doing something very different with his "Chugga Sticks it to Sticker Star" mini-series, a series of videos mixed with his brand of humor that wouldn't be too out of place on an AnalysisChannel.
* DevelopmentHell:
** His video showing the library and backstory to ''[[VideoGame/SuperMarioGalaxy Super Luigi Galaxy]]''. It was supposed to be posted within a few days of the end of the regular [=LP=] -- instead, due to illness and starting a new [=LP=], he didn't even start working on it until nearly 2 months later.
** His video showing off the [[ThatOneSidequest Nintendo Gallery]] in ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTheWindWaker The Wind Waker]]''. He has completed dozens of [=LPs=] since ''TWW'', with still no sign of the video.
** He originally planned to show off some items in his ''Mother'' LP, but he forgot to do so. He eventually released them as [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFe4AmNF_34 Part 37]] of his LP... which came out on his 3-year anniversary, ''2 years and 8 months'' after he finished the Mother LP (which was his second LP).
** The ''VideoGame/SuperPaperMario'' LP. He meant to do it since the beginning; along with ''VideoGame/PaperMarioTheThousandYearDoor'' and ''[[VideoGame/PaperMario64 Paper Mario]]'', and it took him ''four freaking years'' for him to ''finally'' release it. Granted, he did two ''VideoGame/PaperMario'' games close to each other, so he didn't want to overdo it.
** Bonus videos for his [=LPs=] in general tend to go through this. He even lampshades it in more recent projects.
** ''VideoGame/PokemonMysteryDungeonRescueTeam''. He originally planned to announce ''Blue Rescue Team'' in January, but that was when they announced ''Rescue Team DX'' which prompted him to basically throw that out the window until he studies the game and rewrite his notes so that it tailors to the updated mechanics. He [=LPed=] ''VideoGame/KirbyTripleDeluxe'' as a Plan B while he got everything organized.
** Speaking of ''VideoGame/KirbyTripleDeluxe'', the final bonus videos showing the multiplayer have been long delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
** ''VideoGame/Splatoon2'' had been worked on for at least ''four years'' before it debuted on February 11th, 2022, with the amount of work required, updates to the game, and other circumstances getting in the way of its planned release multiple times. It was supposed to release after ''Super Mario Galaxy 2'' (early 2020), and according to guest [=MHFSilver=] in the final LP, it's been in the works since at least [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPwR4Nsmcts this video]], which came out in September 2017.
* ExecutiveMeddling: An interesting case as it happened well after the end of this LP, but his remake of ''VideoGame/{{EarthBound|1994}}'' underwent this as Creator/SonyMusic suddenly started filing copyright strikes against ''Earthbound'' videos (as they own the rights to its soundtrack), targeting at least five videos (the story finale in particular) in Emile's playlist.
* FandomVIP: He was considered a VIP for the fandoms of several games he played, including ''VideoGame/{{Mother}}'', ''VideoGame/{{Okami}}'', and ''VideoGame/XenobladeChronicles'', but said fans have since dropped him after his [[RoleEndingMisdemeanor controversies]] involving sexual harrassment came to light.
* FlipFlopOfGod: During his ''Super Mario Sunshine'' LP, he stated that he did not intend to LP ''VideoGame/SuperMario64'' or ''VideoGame/SuperMarioGalaxy'', due to those games being, in Emile's opinion, over-[=LPed=] (and in the case of ''64'', overrated as well). [[ExactWords Technically, he kept his word]]; he has since [=LPed=] Super ''Luigi'' Galaxy and Super Mario 64 ''DS''.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: Chugga's old 50 Facts video got deleted on account of over half the facts no longer being true. Fans reuploaded the video to preserve the product of its time, which can be viewed [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vs9CmqGyftg here]].
* MeaningfulReleaseDate: Part 1 of "Chugga sticks it to [[VideoGame/PaperMarioStickerStar Sticker Star]]" was released on the 10th anniversary of the eponymous game.
* InMemoriam:
** Though not dead, he has one for the Tentacool he catches in an episode of ''Emerald'' when he decides to leave her in his character's PC for the whole game and not on his team. However, in Episode 41 when he starts using it as a slave for Dive. Later, he returns to Slateport City and visits the Name Rater offscreen. Enter ACOOLSLAVE!
--->ACOOLTENT
--->Episode 7 - Episode 7
** On a more serious note, Chugga dedicated Chapter 6 of his ''MOTHER 3'' LP towards [[spoiler:Hinawa (Lucas's mother who died early in the game), dead relatives/friends of his viewers, and his uncle.]]
** In ''Super Paper Mario'', [[spoiler: in Chapter 8 after the presumed deaths of Bowser, Peach, and Luigi, he puts a picture of the respective hero over his video ending sequence, giving off definite vibes of this.]]
** At the end of his ''Super Mario Galaxy 2'' LP, there's a dedication to his pet rabbit Pippy, who passed away near the time of the LP.
** The final episode of ''Pokémon Black 2 & White 2'' ends with a dedication to Chuggaa's pet cat, Kirby, who passed away during the LP.
* MagnumOpusDissonance:
** Even though his ''Super Mario Sunshine'' playthrough is by far the most popular of his [=LPs=], in his ''Majora's Mask'' LP, he mentions that he doesn't consider it one of his best works, since he was going through CreatorBreakdown at the time and [[StepfordSmiler faked most of his enthusiasm.]]
** Chugga has said in his opinion his ''Ōkami'' Let's Play was one of if not his favorite, since not only did it let him show off a game with an in-depth story, but also allowed him to showcase one of his favorite games of all time that he knows full well many people had never heard of before. He also laments the fact this is very much his own opinion, and many of his viewers (in particular his younger ones) [[BrokenBase weren't fans]] of the ''Ōkami'' franchise, in part ''because'' they had never heard of the game before.
** The above also holds true for his ''VideoGame/XenobladeChronicles1'' LP. Emile is a huge fan of the series, and was thrilled to play such a long and in-depth game for his fans who likely overlooked or outright missed the game when it was first released. Again fan reaction has been mixed, in much part due to just [[ArchivePanic how long]] the LP ended up being.

* MilestoneCelebration: For his channel's tenth anniversary, Chugga made [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0WmKvVVbGs&t=1s a two-hour long video]] titled "Creating a Let's Play: What You've Taught Me", where he goes over his process for making let's plays. He would also do a redux of his first Let's Play, ''[=EarthBound=]'', for that same anniversary.
* MissingEpisode:
** His first videos of ''Pokémon Platinum'', which consisted of the important fights (Rival battles, fighting Team Galactic, Gym Leaders, Elite Four, and Frontier Brains) and capturing the legendary Pokémon. He eventually started a proper, higher quality playthrough of Platinum in 2015. However, on June 15, 2016, he brought back his old ''Platinum'' vids due to fan demand, and the playlist can be seen on his channel.
** In January 2024, LetsPlay/MasaeAnela removed all videos of her playing the ''VideoGame/MarioParty'' series with Chuggaconroy following the allegations Emile got himself embroiled in. This has caused their playthrough of ''VideoGame/MarioParty2'' to be missing the matches on Western Land and Mystery Land, as those videos were uploaded to Masae’s channel.
* OneTakeWonder: Chugga stated [[https://twitter.com/chuggaaconroy/status/1650242906815451137 on Twitter]] that the [[MotorMouth speedy]] capture equation reading from [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQs_9ystWxc Episode 1]] of ''VideoGame/PokemonBlack2AndWhite2'' was recorded in a single take. He was expecting to mess it up and have to edit it in post, but he didn't need to.
* PermanentPlaceholder:
** Affection the Misdreavus was only supposed to be a temporary team member in ''VideoGame/PokemonColosseum'' but Emile chose to add her upon seeing how the game's ArtificialStupidity when combating Ghost-Types would make her a powerful team member.
** Haywire the Zebstrika was only going to be a temporary team member in ''VideoGame/PokemonBlackAndWhite'' but Chugga chose to keep her on the team out of sentimentality. As mentioned above, [[CreatorBacklash he would later regret this decision]].
* RoleEndingMisdemeanor:
** In his video on [[https://youtu.be/P0WmKvVVbGs?t=3983 Creating a Let's Play]], Emile notes that he used to have an anonymous artist who created artwork for his Let's Plays very quickly, particularly for ''Pokemon Fire Red'' and ''Pokemon Crystal''. Then he found out during his ''Crystal'' Let's Play that the art they were making was actually stolen from other artists and he ended communications with them.
** Emile himself went on hiatus in January 2024 when WebVideo/LadyEmily accused him of unwanted erotic roleplay, with LetsPlay/MasaeAnela and [=AntDude=] following with accusations of him violating their boundaries. Evidence of Emile sending sexual messages to a 15-year-old fan when he was 19 in tandem with the allegations above led to LetsPlay/TheRunawayGuys going on an indefinite hiatus. Masae archived her videos containing him following the fallout, and both LetsPlay/ProtonJon and LetsPlay/NintendoCapriSun have professionally distanced themselves from Emile. It was later announced that The Runaway Guys were looking into rebranding and continuing without Emile.
* SavedForTheSequel:
** Chugga had previously considered using the Duskull family in ''[[VideoGame/PokemonRubyAndSapphire Pokémon Emerald]]'' and ''VideoGame/PokemonXDGaleOfDarkness'' but passed both times due to Duskull's weak power. Chugga would end up using the family in ''[[VideoGame/PokemonDiamondAndPearl Pokémon Platinum]]'' as there he could skip Duskull and instead catch its evolution Dusclops.
** Chugga originally planned to make Vibrava his final team member in ''VideoGame/PokemonColosseum'' but chose Granbull instead due to using a Dragon type in the two prior Pokémon [=LPs=], he would later use the Vibrava line in ''VideoGame/PokemonBlack2AndWhite2''.
** As mentioned under WhatCouldHaveBeen, Chugga was originally going to film the intro to the ''Xenoblade Chronicles 2'' LP while cosplaying as Rex. While this didn't work out, the ''VideoGame/PokemonBlack2AndWhite2'' announcement video ended up featuring a Rosa cosplay, courtesy of Goosaphone.
* SavedFromDevelopmentHell: At the end of 2019, Chugga finally wrapped up the bonus videos for ''VideoGame/Pikmin3'' (2 years 6 months since its last video) and ''VideoGame/KidIcarusUprising'' (5 years 10 months since last video). He even takes out a demon gate trial for ''VideoGame/{{Okami}}'' 8 years after the series' last video, with one to go. He cleared the final demon gate trial on May 10, 2020 (more than 4 months after the previous video).
* ScheduleSlip:
** In July 2013, his LP of ''Super Mario 64 DS'' took an unexpected ten-day hiatus after an illness ruined his voice AND a lightning strike knocked out his Internet connection.
** His ''Xenoblade Chronicles'' LP suffered through this massively. It took over a year to finish due to multiple issues, the biggest factor being an infection which caused him to stop updating for over three months.
** He was not able to update his ''[[VideoGame/PokemonDiamondAndPearl Pokémon Platinum]]'' LP regularly partway through it due to [[https://www.facebook.com/chuggaaconroy/photos/a.10150624504168175.387842.221887733174/10153449453483175/?type=3&theater his cat Teddy dying]] and traveling to make sure Teddy can see all his family members one last time. In fact, he's had multiple delays in the project due to some of his videos taking a long time to edit.
** His ''Splatoon 2'' playthrough averted this for the main story, but went on a several month hiatus midway through the Octo Expansion playthrough. According to Chugga, this was because he suddenly had the opportunity to visit friends and family he hadn't seen since the initial lockdowns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and those opportunities kept coming up, so he wanted to capitalize on them just in case/before things got bad again and travel to that degree got impractical or dangerous.
** Chugga was planning to have the redux of his ''VideoGame/PaperMario64'' LP done by November 2022, so he could focus on his ''Sticker Star'' essay, but ''VideoGame/Splatoon2'' took far longer than he initially planned, meaning he was unable to start ''Paper Mario'' until October. This resulted in parts 1-3 being released concurrently with the [=LP=], while Part 4 on would be done at their own pace after the [=LP=] concluded.
** In general, this happens frequently during his playthroughs, whether it's due to an illness, travel, or just being unable to finish editing the planned video on time.
* ScrewedByTheLawyers:
** A vague legal issue he was not permitted to disclose prevented the ''Superstar Saga'' LP from being released on time, forcing it to take over a month past its scheduled release.
** Episode 39 of his ''Chrono Trigger'' LP ended up being delayed due to a legal squabble with an unnamed rapper who sampled the Black Omen theme in a song and consequently got Emile's video auto-claimed. The delay was spent arguing against the claim, as the rapper obviously had no legal ownership of the ''Chrono Trigger'' song, meaning that it didn't make sense for him to gain revenue from the video. Emile's video was eventually put up on August 1, 2019, with the claim having since been cleared up.[[note]]Previously it was thought that Music/WizKhalifa was the one who got the video claimed, as he had notoriously sampled Schala's theme for his single "Never Been". However, this supposition was debunked after Emile revealed the ''actual'' song that got him in trouble.[[/note]]
** Five of his ''Earthbound'' redux Let's Play got blocked by the Japanese division of Creator/SonyMusic because of the game's soundtrack, which they own the distribution rights to. Emile had filed requests to get the videos restored, and they were restored on July 3rd, 2021 after Jirard WebVideo/TheCompletionist helped Emile get in touch with some people.
* SeriesHiatus:
** ''VideoGame/XenobladeChronicles1'' would receive a 3-week hiatus after Episode 33, followed by a two-month hiatus after episode 40. Chugga explained he had become gravely ill in July, but forced himself to finish the Prison Island arc to ensure the LP was stopped at a satisfying point before the prolonged hiatus. [[TheShelfOfMovieLanguishment Episodes 34-40 were recorded in July, but not released until August]] due to Chugga lacking the energy to edit them until then.
** His ''VideoGame/PokemonBlack2AndWhite2'' playthrough went on hiatus for a month between Episode 20 and Episode 21. Another hiatus of nearly two months arose between Episode 44 and Episode 45, due to the unfortunate death of his pet cat Kirby, and other health issues.
** Emile took an indefinite hiatus after finishing ''Pokémon Black 2 & White 2'' following multiple allegations of sexual harassment, including from Masae herself.
* TroubledProduction:
** While Chugga still enjoyed the LP, he admitted ''VideoGame/AnimalCrossingNewLeaf'' was one of the most stressful things he's ever done. This was due to the nature of the game meaning he could only record a single video a day, giving him less than 24 hours to edit each video. In addition, it was difficult to fact-check certain aspects of the game, as ''New Leaf'' had only been out for 11 months when he started the LP, with the game’s North American release only occurring five months prior. Furthermore, Emile got sick on two occasions, one sickness lasted only a few days while another lasted several ''months''. Both instances of getting sick would result in videos having to be scrapped in order to keep the authenticity of the game’s clock.
** He believes the ''Sonic Colors'' bonus videos are cursed. With the exception of ''LetsPlay/ProtonJon'', every guest set to appear in those videos either retired, vanished from the face of the internet, or [[RoleEndingMisdemeanor were forced to retire due to a scandal]]. Some guests got as far as having a meet-up arranged for the recording session, only to not show up.
** ''Kirby: Triple Deluxe'' may have been one of Chugga's shortest series, but it ended up taking longer than anticipated and ran into many troubles:
*** The series started later than the normal three-week gap between [=LPs=], as Chugga first took time to finish up bonus videos for older series. He planned to start an LP of ''VideoGame/PokemonMysteryDungeonRescueTeam'' (specficially ''Blue Rescue Team'') afterwards... only for January 2020 Pokémon Direct to beat him to it by announcing ''[[VideoGameRemake Rescue Team DX]]'' for a March 2020 release. Rather than continue with plan of playing the original game, Chugga decided to wait until the remake was released so he could redo his notes and LP it instead. ''Triple Deluxe'' was a back-pocket project that he brought in to take up time until ''DX'' released, since it was a comparatively simpler, shorter game.
*** A bit before the game's halfway point, Chugga took a few weeks of hiatus for grieving purposes, only uploading a few videos that had been recorded before that time until he resumed.
*** The final post-game video got delayed for a few days because Chugga underestimated how difficult [[BrutalBonusLevel the True Arena]] would be, as it stressed him out to the point where he considered getting footage from another person for it. This led to the first time in the history of the channel where an LP started before the last one had finished (discounting bonus videos); Chugga's AprilFoolsDay playthrough of ''VideoGame/SuperMarioLand'' went up on April 1 while he was still working on completing the True Arena.
*** Chugga wanted to show off the "Kirby Fighters" sub-game and its standalone spinoff ''Kirby Fighters Deluxe'' during the LP, but the COVID-19 pandemic was going on at the time, making it unsafe for him to visit others and record multiplayer.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** In an interview with [=LPCatchphrases=], he mentions that some of his early plans for Let's Plays that never materialized included ''VideoGame/YoshisIsland'' (he tried a few videos and wasn't happy with the result) and ''VideoGame/EternalSonata'' (which would have been the first LP of a game not available on a Nintendo console).
** He also planned to do ''Luigi's Mansion'' and ''Pikmin'' earlier than he did, but was put off by the time limit that [=YouTube=] videos had at the time.
** ''VideoGame/KirbysEpicYarn'' was originally supposed to be a collaborative LP on LetsPlay/TheRunawayGuys, but was rejected due to the 2-player mode not working very well, especially due to the fact that they could not screw each other over in gameplay. So Chugga decided to do it alone. He still showed off two-player mode with LetsPlay/ProtonJon at the end, though.
** In his Pokémon Let's Plays, he's mentioned a few Pokémon he's considered for his teams, including Omanyte for ''[=FireRed=]'', Lileep for ''Emerald'', Gligar for ''Colosseum'', and Houndour and Froslass for ''Platinum''. The most prominent example would be [[StoneWall Duskull]]. He had considered using it for not only ''Emerald'', but also for ''[[VideoGame/PokemonXDGaleOfDarkness XD]]'' and ''Platinum''. The reason he didn't go with it is that he tried using it on his team in off-camera playthroughs, but he felt it wasn't too usable for the main story; however in Episode 53 of ''Platinum'', he finally decided to use Dusclops to make up for being left out. In Bonus Episode 2, he mentioned that he wanted to use Toxicroak instead of Gallade, but due to having Zubat planned for his team, he ultimately went with Gallade for type diversity.
** Throughout the second phase of his ''VideoGame/AnimalCrossingNewLeaf'' LP, Chugga was planning to go to several conventions and make a room in his villager's house made entirely of items he obtained through [[VideoGame/StreetPassMiiPlaza Streetpass]]. However, Emile getting sick for over three months quashed those plans entirely. His sickness also resulted in the videos dedicated to events that occurred between Rocco's Birthday and Halloween being condensed into a single video.
** He also mentions he considered using Cofagrigus on his team in ''Pokémon White''. In his 10th Anniversary video, Emile showed off the runner-ups for his White team that he rejected for various reasons. These included Chandelure (dropped for being too overpowered), Accelgor (dropped for filling the same niche as Roc), and Sawk (dropped for having a shallow move pool).
** Chugga mentioned in the 10th-anniversary video that originally the Let's Play of ''VideoGame/PokemonBlackAndWhite'' would have ''Black'' be the main version played due to Emile [[AuthorAppeal liking Reshiram more than Zekrom]]. However, Emile decided to switch versions feeling [[WellIntentionedExtremist N viewing himself as the hero of legend]] would make more sense if he had [[LightIsGood possession of the Light Orb]]. Had Chugga not made this switch he wouldn't have been able to use [=McFly=] in his Let's Play of ''VideoGame/PokemonBlack2AndWhite2'', as the Elekid line is exclusive to ''White 2''.
** In [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VApn5nMJmM the Momocon 2018 panel]], Chugga mentions that he had an LP of an undisclosed ''Franchise/FireEmblem'' game in the works at one point, but ended up dropping it because he couldn't find a video style that worked for it.
** During one of [=MasaeAnela's=] streams, Chugga revealed he had plans to use Website/{{Miiverse}} drawings at the end of each episode of his ''VideoGame/{{EarthBound|1994}}'' LP depicting an event that occurred in the episode. It never came to fruition, as Miiverse had shut down before the LP began.
** Chugga aimed to do each of ''Pikmin 3'''s Mission Mode stages with different guests, mainly focusing on ones known for playing the ''Pikmin'' series. About halfway through, Chugga started running into trouble with meeting up with everyone (and, on one occasion, was missing a piece of equipment he needed for recording), leading to long delays between episodes and some repeated guests. Following a two-year hiatus, Chugga dropped the idea and simply wrapped up the rest of Mission Mode with [=MasaeAnela=] in December 2019.
** According to his final bonus video of ''VideoGame/{{Pikmin 3}}'', Chugga had to shelve bonus videos for ''VideoGame/SonicColors'' because the planned guests (except for LetsPlay/ProtonJon, who already did a bonus video with him for that game) either retired, got into scandals, or just vanished without a trace.
** Originally, Chugga was going to play ''[[VideoGame/PokemonMysteryDungeonRescueTeam Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team]]'' after his ''VideoGame/SuperMarioGalaxy2'' Let's Play, but just as he was about to move past the pre-production phase and start recording, the January 2020 ''Pokémon'' [[WebVideo/NintendoDirect Direct]] aired, featuring the announcement for the remake, ''[[VideoGame/PokemonMysteryDungeonRescueTeam Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX]]''. As a result, he had to examine that version inside and out and redo all of his notes from the bottom-up, with the end result being the ''VideoGame/KirbyTripleDeluxe'' and ''VideoGame/SuperMarioLand'' [=LPs=] happening after ''Galaxy 2'' as stopgaps. The ''Blue Rescue Team'' LP was so close to happening that [[https://twitter.com/chuggaaconroy/status/1260736505984815106 Stephen had already drawn a channel icon, which went unused]]. On a more trivial note, this has resulted in his ''Rescue Team DX'' LP holding the distinction of being the one series of his released the soonest since the target game's release, premiering just two months after ''Rescue Team DX'' came out on March 6, 2020.
*** As revealed in episode 42 of ''Rescue Team DX'', one major topic that was going to be in the original game was IQ and the optimal grinding spots to get gummis for a specific type. With ''DX'' replacing the mechanic with Rare Qualities, that idea became a footnote in the LP.
** Twitter replies on Chugga's ''VideoGame/XenobladeChronicles2'' LP announcement revealed that he was originally going to do ''VideoGame/XenobladeChroniclesX'' before 2, but a combination of various factors (such as the Miiverse features no longer being available and his worries about the game getting a Switch port announced midway through his LP) ultimately led him to scrap his X LP and move onto 2 instead.
** Chugga had debated filming the ''Xenoblade 2'' announcement video while cosplaying as Rex, but it was deemed too unsafe to do during the pandemic because it would've required other people to help with.
** On [[https://twitter.com/chuggaaconroy/status/1370203578183335942 Twitter]], Chugga said there was a point he wanted to do a Let's Play on ''VideoGame/YokaiWatch1'', but since it was popular to unfairly compare it to Pokémon at the time, he decided against it. However, he has since said that he's open to eventually making it happen.
** Emile had considered doing an LP of ''VideoGame/AnimalCrossingNewHorizons'' shortly after its release in 2020, stylizing it as a sequel to his ''New Leaf'' Let's Play. About a year after its release however, Chugga would [[https://twitter.com/chuggaaconroy/status/1386726858226552832 scrap those plans]] altogether, as he felt that Nintendo cracking down on changing the in-game clock made it basically impossible to make the game adhere to his video format. The villagers being significantly less fun to talk to, and potentially burning out on it after playing it for more than a month also were factors in canceling plans for the Let's Play.
** The ''VideoGame/Splatoon2'' Let's Play was originally planned to come right after ''Super Mario Galaxy 2'', with the tease in the ''Galaxy 2'' announcement intending to lead into the ''Splatoon 2'' announcement. However, the production behind ''Splatoon 2'' ended up being so complicated that it forced ''Kirby: Triple Deluxe'', ''Pokémon Mystery Dungeon'', and ''Xenoblade Chronicles 2'' ahead of it.
** [[https://www.wired.com/2013/07/chuggaaconroy/ In a Wired interview from 2013,]] Emile noted that he would likely end his Let's Play career sometime before he turned 30 (April 2020), partially due to wanting to pursue a career as a professional video editor at the time, and also out of worry that his popularity would fade with age.
** Emile was originally planning on [[https://twitter.com/chuggaaconroy/status/1576689201579716608 covering the Celebi event]] during his LP of ''Pokémon Crystal''. However, Emile eventually learned that the artist he hired to make the drawings for the Legendary Pokémon in the series was actually engaging in art theft. This led to Emile scrapping the idea for the video entirely, as he couldn't verify if the art made for Celebi was also plagiarized and didn't want to risk anything.
** Blaise's Trapinch was planned to be named [[WesternAnimation/TheEmperorsNewGroove Pacha]] due to Flygon's colors matching him, but since the Trapinch was female, he opted for another name since he didn't want to invoke GenderBlenderName (in spite of the name revealed to actually be gender-neutral) or name her Chicha, Pacha's (not-so-prominent) wife. The ShoutOut wouldn't have the same effect.
** Emile originally planned on using a Woobat on Blaise's team, but decided against it as he quickly realized how it wasn't very good in battle while doing some test runs of the game. He also mentioned that Axew, Skorupi, and Pawniard nearly made the cut for his ''White 2'' team. He also considered catching a Drifloon with Flare Boost for his team, but found that getting a Pokémon from one of the Hidden Grottos was too unreliable for the project.
** During the last ''Sticker Star'' bonus stream, Emile revealed that he started the planning stages of a Let's Play on ''VideoGame/MarioAndLuigiBowsersInsideStory'' in early 2020. However, despite hearing that the 3DS remake was of poorer quality than the original, Emile decided to do a playthrough of it so he could takes notes of the changes and add it to the Let's Play. Unfortunately, Emile ''hated'' the remake due to how horribly balanced it was (to the point he could beat most bosses on ''the first turn'' despite not grinding) amongst other changes he disliked. The experience was so awful that it turned him off from even looking at the game and halted plans on doing a Let's Play on it any time soon.
