** [[https://twitter.com/KyleKallgren/status/247200946793373696 His]] [[https://twitter.com/KyleKallgren/status/247201953988370432 moniker]]. As of the ''Mister Lonely'' review, he's dropped it from the title sequence and goes by just his real name.
** Kyle's expressed regret about his ''Primer'' review, feeling he was way too hard on the film.
** He also turned against the ''Spring Breakers'' episode just a day after its release, admitting it wasn't his best work. While he considered doing a follow-up video to it, Kyle eventually decided on just covering those aspects next time he reviews a Korine film.
** In general, Kyle's turned against his pre-''Melancholia'' reviews, feeling he was trying too hard to be funny over being informative. As such, many of them now have disclaimers saying that the video is "a work of satire and does not reflect the critical opinions of the author".
* EloquentInMyNativeTongue: He admits that he's not all that skilled with Dutch, although he has some knowledge; he spent part of his childhood in the Netherlands and even went to an international school there.
** His review of ''Nightwatching''/''Rembrandt's J'accuse'' opens with him addressing the viewer in Dutch, until the cameraman (actually his brother) cuts him off complaining about his terrible accent.
* FandomNod: ''The Origin of Escargoancitizen'', a live-action fan fic about Oancitizen turning into a snail, which was written InTheStyleOf ''Manga/{{Uzumaki}}''. Escargoancitizen has also made appearances in few other places, including a cameo in ''ToBoldlyFlee''.
* MissingEpisode: The sans-commentary version of "The Girlfriend Experience" (which he felt completely misrepresented him) and "What Is It?" which got removed after Crispin Glover took umbrage at its existence.
** KeepCirculatingTheTapes: While they're not on Blip anymore, fans made sure the reviews survive [[http://vdownload.eu/watch/4480296-brows-held-high-what-is-it.html somewhere]].
* OldShame: When he posted the old review of ''The Girlfriend Experience'' on TGWTG, some comments came in, which he agreed with about the review coming off as SlutShaming, and he contemplated removing the review altogether. He did say the intent wasn't to mock Sasha Grey for her adult film work, but the message he meant didn't come across clearly.
* OneOfUs: In his [[http://blip.tv/brows-held-high/bhh-ken-park-commentary-4500529 commentary]] for his review of ''Film/KenPark'', he mentions using TVTropes to find films to review when he started the show, particularly on the {{Euroshlock}} page. He has now taken on ''Film/WRMysteriesOfTheOrganism'', ''Film/SweetMovie'', ''Exterminating Angels'', and ''Film/ASerbianFilm'', along with several of the American examples that were on that page.
** Mid way through the first part of his review of Melancholia "By the way, TVTropes thinks I'm Catholic. Don't know why."
** Downplayed defiance: after using footage from ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' to kill the viewer's arousal, he confessed on Twitter that he was not, in fact, a [[FanCommunityNicknames brony]].
** He plays ''VideoGame/GrandTheftAuto'' and watches ''Franchise/StarTrek''. And is such a fan of ''VideoGame/{{Civilization}}'' he uses the "Our words are backed by nuclear weapons" quote in a review.

* RealSongThemeTune: "Procession of the Nobles."
* RedStringOfFate: Kyle and his artist discovered only AFTER they agreed to work together that his artist lives only 4 blocks from him. They've since become not just coworkers but inseparable best friends, to the point of people thinking they're dating or even joking that they're married.
* RuleThirtyFourCreatorReactions: He's somewhat bemused by all the fangirls and SlashFic he's received already.
* StephenFry: Our host's hero.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Kallgren stated that, at one point, he thought of being an actor.
** During the break between ''Melancholia'' and ''Mister Lonely'', Kyle suggested a temporary series where he would rewatch the films he reviewed early on and recap them with a new perspective. He eventually discarded that for a new ''Between the Lines''.
** There was going to be a joke in the ''Mister Lonely'' review involving the scene in ''Film/GrizzlyMan'' where Werner Herzog listens to the recording of Timothy Treadwell being eaten, only with the audio replaced. Kyle ended up cutting the gag out.
** Another canceled video was one where Kyle would review ''Film/CitizenKane'' while drunk. In his own words, "getting sloshed for a joke just came off as sad the more I thought about it."
