** One of the minor characters of ''The Shadow of the Templars'' Albert the Concierge was inspired by a concierge who shouted at Charles to not to make so much noise in forecourt at night and then started ranting about the English.
** The gendarme in Montfaucon Square was based on a policeman that Charles and his wife met during their research trip for the first game. The policeman was trying to direct the traffic and everyone around him was hooting horns at him. In the end, he walked away and ordered a glass of wine.
** In ''The Angel of Death'', Mevlut is named after [[https://twitter.com/BSunofficial/status/257466426137387008 Charles' friend Mevlut Dinc]].
