* DyeHard: Bob is a natural brunette.
* EnforcedMethodActing:
** The Cody Rhodes slap was not fake. Holly makes no secret of working stiff whenever he can.
** Most likely, Holly's hardcore match with then-WWE Champion Wrestling/JohnBradshawLayfield consisted of nothing but stiff shots.
* HostilityOnTheSet: He got in a scuffle with René Duprée in 2004 during their travels together for house shows: after stopping by in Spokane, Washington, Holly briefly had to fly home for business, to which Duprée asked to borrow Holly's rental car, which Holly allowed. Two months later, Holly received a district court notice from Spokane informing him his license was suspended and there was a warrant for his arrest as a result of an unpaid parking ticket -- evidently, Duprée received the ticket, disregarded it, and Holly took the fall for it as the car was in his name. Not only did Holly have to travel to Spokane to get everything sorted out, this resulted in him shooting all over Duprée during a later episode of [=SmackDown=], beating him in the ring for real.
* RealitySubtext: His feud and eventual tag team with Cody Rhodes, who was a "rookie" he had to put up with. In real life, Holly is known for beating on rookies.
* RealSongThemeTune: Music/DavidBowie's "Fame" as "Hollywood" Bob Holly in Wrestling/{{SMW}}.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** The infamously lackluster WWE Championship match with Lesnar was the result of Wrestling/TripleH and Wrestling/ShawnMichaels's match on the card going on for longer than originally planned. Holly's relatively meticulously planned match was thrown right out of the window, denying the match any sense of identity it may have had and rendering it an afterthought.
** The degree of seriousness with which it was treated by Creative is up to debate, but Holly was told he would be [[Wrestling/VinceMcMahon Vince [=McMahon=]]]'s representative against Wrestling/BobbyLashley in Vinnie Mac's infamous hair vs. hair match with UsefulNotes/DonaldTrump at Wrestling/WrestleMania 23. Wrestling/{{Umaga}} got the gig instead, and lost.
