* ActorSharedBackground: Diane is Japanese American, like her actress and indeed she is the only Japanese American Sentai Pink whose actress was born in the States, unlike her successor.
* TheDanza: Diane Martin as Diane Martin.
* DawsonCasting: Keiko Nakahara was played by Creator/NorikoHidaka, who was fifteen years old at the time. No sign (at least as far as subbers have gotten) that she is intended to be some kind of prodigy.
* DivorcedInstallment: Originally planned as a localized adaptation of ComicBook/CaptainAmerica titled "Captain Japan", following up on the success of Toei's Spider-Man show.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: The original cuts of #1-3, #5 and #7 with Kenji Ushio as Hedder, which was replaced with Masashi Ishibashi for reruns and home video, are only available publicly through very low quality TV rips from the broadcast in Hawaii (subtitled by JP Productions).
* TheOtherDarrin: Masashi Ishibashi replaced Kenji Ushio as Hedder starting with #9, after Ushio was arrested for drug possession.
* TheOtherMarty: Despite the recast, you can still briefly see Ushio in some shots of the new version (such as in #4 and #6).
* RoleEndingMisdemeanor: The reason Hedder was recast. Kenji Ushio was arrested for drug possession. Though Ushio would later go on to play Doctor Q in Series/KyodaiKenByclosser.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen
** Produced just after the Japanese version of ComicBook/SpiderMan, this series expected to be a Japanese take on ComicBook/CaptainAmerica. And then it became a Sentai.
** The original plan was for Battle Fever J to be broadcast on TV Tokyo as a follow-up to Spider-Man, rather than Goranger and J.A.K.Q.'s home on TV Asahi (formerly NET) which Super Sentai holds to this day. Sticking to TV Asahi allowed Battle Fever to premiere over a month before Spider-Man itself concluded, whilst its place as follow-up to the latter was taken by the anime series Anime/FutureRobotDaltanious.
** In the "Captain Japan" pitch, Battle Shark was intended to transform from a battleship into the Battle Fever Robo rather than carrying it. This "Transforming Robo" concept would make its debut in Denziman.
** Battle France infamously performs a Spanish dance because he was originally "Battle Spain". Though the nation motif was changed, French music deemed to be "not suitable for battle" and so the dance stuck.
* YouLookFamiliar:
** Battle Cossack I is portrayed by Yukio Ito, who also portrayed Midoranger in Goranger.
** The girl playing Yuki had previously played another role in episode 13, and the woman playing the human form of the very first monster returns in the last episode as , who was also Yoko Kato in Goranger.
