* AdaptationFirst: The Sega Saturn video game adaptation was released in December 1996 and the OVA was released five months later.
* DirectedByCastMember: In the English dub of Victory, Lia Sargent was the ADR director from episodes 8 onwards as well as the voice of Akari.
* TheOtherDarrin: The Japanese cast stayed the same across the original game, the OVA and the Victory, and for the most part this applies to the English dubs of the OVA and Victory too, however, some of the characters were recast in the dub of Victory:
** Akari was voiced by Dyanne [=DiRosario=] credited as Bambi Darrow in the OVA, but was voiced by Lia Sargent in Victory the latter of whom ironically enough voiced Jessie in the OVA. .
*** In OVA flashbacks, Akari's child self is voiced by Creator/RebeccaForstadt, but in Victory, Lia Sargent voices Akari at both ages.
** Tanya was voiced by Brianne Brozey in the OVA and by Creator/JulieMaddalena in Victory.
** Jessie was voiced by the aforementioned Lia Sargent in the OVA and by Christina Carlisi credited as Marie Downing in Victory, which makes Jessie's TV counterpart's initial impression of Akari all the more ironic since Lia Sargent voices Akari in Victory.
** Lahrri was voiced by Creator/MaryElizabethMcGlynn (who also voices Ayla in Victory) and voiced by Mimi Woods in Victory.
** In the OVA, Tomoe was voiced by Creator/WendeeLee, in Victory she's voiced oddly enough by Dyanne [=DiRosario=], who voiced Akari in the OVA once again, credited as Bambi Darrow . The recasting was most likely due to Wendee already voicing Icchan.
** [[spoiler:In contrast to the original Japanese where Creator/RioNatsuki reprised her role, the dub of [=ReSTART!=], Akari as an old woman is voiced by Casey Casper as Lia Sargent isn't really active in anime dubbing these days.]]
* ThoseTwoActors: To an almost fitting degree, [=ReSTART!=] has this with VideoGame/Aikatsu: Kanata Akehoshi is Ichigo Hoshimiya, Eva Garenstein is Hinaki Shinjo and Shelley Wong is Yume Nijino.
** If we bring the original series into this, Icchan is Yume's mother.
* StudioHop: The OVA and Victory are currently owned by Creator/NBCUniversal due to their buyout of Geneon Entertainment in 2008.
