* ExecutiveMeddling: It's probably fair to say the pre-Burnside ComicBook/{{Batgirl}} issues were working under a fair few edicts.
** Barbara was initially not allowed to wear glasses or use computers. Creator/GailSimone also mentioned that she had to fight hard just to let friends/allies Comicbook/{{Nightwing}} and Comicbook/BlackCanary make appearances.
** Also, the whole reason she's doing this "walking" thing again. WordOfGod is that Creator/GailSimone only took the book because she was afraid someone else would mishandle Barbara's recovery.
** Gail Simone stated that she was forced to make the book grim and gritty much to her frustration. She then decided to quit, but a new editor was hired and [[http://www.bleedingcool.com/2014/07/11/gail-simone-left-batgirl-over-creative-differences-with-the-editor-who-then-left-dc-comics/ he encouraged the new creative team to make the title fun]].
* LineToGod: Cameron Stewart and Creator/BrendanFletcher have a [[http://batgirlofburnside.tumblr.com Tumblr blog called Batgirl of Burnside]], where they post fan art and answer questions.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: According to Simone, the arc that introduced Nightfall was originally going to end with Barbara being injured and having to disclose her secret identity to Alysia, who would then have taken up the Batgirl mantle while Barbara recovered. Unfortunately, "Death of the Family" - a major Bat-Family crossover - happened around that time, so Barbara was required to remain in the cowl.
