* RealLifeWritesThePlot: The group's decision to limit their live shows has been blamed by Dave on the [[UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic pandemic]] making it impossible to book profitable gigs, along with Mick's music production business taking off and keeping him too busy to play live anymore. Starting with their December 2022 show, Anaal Nathrakh will keep playing live, though without Mick.
* ReclusiveArtist: Dave and Mick rarely give interviews, the band's social media are almost never updated and even when they actively toured the group played live maybe a dozen times a year. In fact, it wasn't until a 2005 BBC Radio interview after a series of live performances with the legendary [[Creator/JohnPeel John Peel]] that they decided that they would play the occasional live show. After signing with Metal Blade, they toured regularly up until 2019; they played only two shows in 2020, ''no'' shows in 2021, and only one show in December 2022. While it was initially announced this would likely be their last live show, the group later announced in February 2023 they would keep playing live with Dave backed by session musicians.
