[[folder:Garfield]]
* The first animated special "Here Comes Garfield," where Odie is taken to the animal shelter (after a grouchy neighbor repeatedly complains that he and Garfield are trespassing on his property and Jon has done nothing to stop it). When Jon fails to claim Odie, Garfield tries to go to the animal shelter to get Odie, only for him to be captured. It is there that Garfield learns (from another cat) that since the 48-hour time limit to claim an animal has lapsed, Odie will likely be put to sleep. Garfield, who hates Odie, now is deeply worried about him and tearfully remembers that for as much as he frustrates and annoys him, he and Odie have had many good times together, a montage of which plays over a mournful ballad "So Long Old Friend." (Making the scene even more sad: a storm rolls into the area, bringing a cold all-night rain.) Garfield is about to cry when he does see one of the workers take Odie away, presumably to not return alive. [[spoiler: Don't worry: Garfield sees a chance a few minutes later, rallying the other dogs and cats in the pound to charge at the lead guard just moments before Odie is taken into a room to be put to death ... and Odie is rescued!]]
* In the episode "First Class Feline," Jon, Odie, and Nermal think Garfield has accidentally mailed himself to Abu Dhabi. Jon is desperately trying to stop the plane but doesn't make it in time. As the plane is taking off Jon yells out "My cat!" It even features the same music from the specials that plays when something depressing happens.
* Garfield and Jon crying over the revelation that the singing ants are still alive and that their house was destroyed for nothing in "Another Ant Episode".
* The scene in "The Man Who Hated Cats" where Mr. Block sings about how he used to have a pet cat as a child and that [[FreudianExcuse he hates cats now because of his pet disappearing one day and never turning up again]].
* In “Cutie and the Beast,” Garfield plays [[KickTheDog a particularly mean prank on Nermal where he makes the cat believe he’s not cute anymore]] so Nermal decides to leave and go to a place where he’ll be accepted. Poor guy.

[[folder:U.S. Acres]]
* Lenore moving away in "Stark Raven Mad".
* The poison apple scene from the episode "Snow Wade and the 77 Dwarves", because it was ''Orson'' who caused them to not be able to rescue Wade.
** It was also sad because Orson just went ahead and put Wade in danger, thinking it all as just a story (even though he should know by now that his imagination comes to life) and didn't even have any regrets about it.
** Out of all the characters, [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Roy]] was the only one (who was taking this seriously near the end of part two) who seemed alarmed/upset that Wade could really be hurt/dead when Wade wouldn't seem to wake up, after Roy kissed him while the others just looked on curiously.
* Wade Duck on the verge of tears in the episode Quack To The Future after Orson yells at him. He definitely becomes a {{Woobie}} in that episode
** It's always stupid and mean whenever Orson yells at Wade for no reason, especially when Wade's been nothing but nice to Orson, if strange. Even [[OddFriendship Roy]] hinted in one episode to pity Wade for that.
* Roy running away in "Banana Nose".
* Wanted: Wade's fantasy sequence could make some people feel this way-especially younger fans of Wade Duck.
* Roy going into exile in "Cock-A-Doodle Duel."
