''Snog, Marry, Avoid?'' is a British TV beauty show presented by former Music/AtomicKitten Jenny Frost (Ellie Taylor from season 5 onwards). In each episode Jenny rounds up three guests, usually female but sometimes men will be chosen as well (sometimes celebrities as well). These guests are chosen for their addiction to "fakery" - i.e. excessive make-up, hair extensions, false tan - and their poor taste in going out clothes. The guests are put in front of POD - the Personal Overhaul Device. POD verbally tears each guest down and shows them a video poll of men on the street saying whether they would Snog, Marry or Avoid them (spoiler: they always say "Avoid"). After hearing that the public hates their look, the guest undergoes a "make-under" and are given a so-called 'natural beauty' look. They are then shown another poll where the public now says they would either Snog or Marry them. Jenny meets up with the guest three months later to see whether or not they've kept up their new look.

!! Provides examples of:

* AccidentalAesop: You should of course strive to make complete strangers want to marry you from a first glance. Forget about getting to know someone and all that nonsense.
* AllAmazonsWantHercules: The female weight lifter on the show was indeed engaged to a fellow weight lifter who was more jacked than she was.
* AllMenArePerverts: According to the show, men only exist to ogle women and to judge whether or not they're marriage material.
* ArcWords: "Natural Beauty".
* ArchEnemy: POD's is Jodie Marsh...which becomes hilarious when Marsh is a contestant on a season 2 episode.
* AttentionWhore: A lot of the girls dress that way in order to get attention from men.
* BeforeAndAfterPictures: Played with. The before pictures aren't altered in any way to make the subject less attractive and neither are the afters. However they have a "Before" and "After" poll where everyone in the Before always says "avoid" and the Afters always say "snog" or "marry".
* BitchAlert: POD of course. Averted with Jenny and Ellie.
* BrainyBrunette: Quite a lot of girls are made under from blonde to brunette in order to make them appear natural.
* BreakTheHaughty: Good lord POD loves doing this.
* BritishAccents: Plenty of them.
* BroughtDownToNormal
* ButNotTooWhite: Inverted. Fake tan is decried by POD.
* CosmeticCatastrophe: And how!
* CostumePorn: Lady Desalina, a fashion designer, had such clothes on before her "make-under". It apparently took her three hours to get ready every day.
* DarkSkinnedBlonde: A common ingredient for the subjects - bleached blonde hair coupled with a really dark fake tan.
* DumbBlonde: Quite a common routine of the make-under. Take a girl with bleached blonde hair and give her brown hair to make the public like her more.
* EverythingsBetterWithSparkles: A lot of girls go for lots of glittery make-up and outfits, which POD is not happy about. She actually gave in in one episode and gave a girl back some of her glittery eye shadow.
* FanDisservice: You will see plenty of half-naked women and plenty of shots of them getting ready. Unfortunately it's normally with them caked in make-up and rubbing a lot of fake tan on themselves.
* FashionDissonance: A lot of the "after" outfits POD picks. '''Especially''' for the men.
* FemmeFatalons: One girl who had insanely long pink nails and her background data listed plenty of her uses for them. She wasn't even able to cut through them with scissors on the first attempt.
* GagBoobs: One Welsh mother who actually had hers done a year before her appearance on the show. [[CrowningMomentOfFunny Cue Jenny singing Happy Birthday to the girl's chest]].
* GenkiGirl: Jenny Frost.
* GenreSavvy: Quite a few contestants cop on and guess that the public would avoid their before look.
* GirlyBruiser: The female weight lifter who described herself as GI Barbie. She indeed wore a pink sparkly costume.
* HardDrinkingPartyGirl: A lot of the contestants.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Arguably Jenny Frost probably wasn't the best choice to present a show condemning fakery. She even cited this as the reason she left the show, claiming she herself loves her make-up and fake tan.
* IAmVeryBritish: POD's voice.
* ImportantHaircut: POD attempts to invoke this in the makeovers. Sometimes it works and sometimes not.
* MadonnaWhoreComplex: The show runs '''heavily''' on this. The before/avoid girls are all presented as Whores and POD tries to make them into Madonnas so the public will want to marry them. An accidental deconstruction occurs when the majority of contestants revert to their original look with a few modifications.
* MakeoverMontage: Inverted. The "before" look is usually preceded by a montage of the subject getting ready (and showing how excessive it normally is) while the Make-Under is actually instantaneous.
* NoGuyWantsAnAmazon: Naturally all the men wanted to avoid the female weightlifter before her make-under. Notable in her "after" outfit, the clothes covered her muscles.
* OfCorsetsSexy: Plenty of girls love to wear corsets. POD naturally puts a stop to it.
* RapunzelHair: A lot of the girls strive for this but it's normally via extensions so POD tries to put a stop to it.
* RedBaron: A lot of girls give themselves titles such as "Chloe Mafia", "Lucy Roxy", "Gemma Levi"...you get the picture.
* RuleOfThree: Three contestants per episode, usually three people asked the question in the polls.
* ShaggyDogStory: Some contestants get dragged in only for POD to decide they don't need a make-under and eject them.
* SheIsAllGrownUp: POD does like to make some of the girls look less like teenagers and more like grown women.
* ShesGotLegs
* ShoutOut: POD is very reminiscent of the computer from ''2001: A Space Odyssey''.
* SpikyHair: Mark from the first episode who described his spikes as his crown. Even POD didn't want to go near them.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: This is what POD intends to stop.
* TakeAThirdOption: Some subjects keep their new look, some revert to their original look. Others keep elements of both that they liked.
* TakeThat: Jodie Marsh gets a lot of this from the show since so many girls model themselves after her.
** {{Franchise/Barbie}} gets a lot as well.
* UncannyValleyMakeup: Twin sisters from Wales who described themselves as "twin Barbie dolls". Their make-up literally made them look like they were made of plastic.
* VanityIsFeminine: Majority of contestants are girls but this is portrayed as a negative thing. POD tries to stop girls from excessively taking care of their appearance.
* WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue: The three months later part where we find out if the subjects have kept their new look.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Though if someone does, POD doesn't like it.
