Deep in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania there are the quiet Amish. They live a simple religious life that leaves them vulnerable to those who want to abuse them. The Amish doesn't go to the Police or any outside law enforcements. They go to a secret group named 'The Amish Mafia'.

For the record, 'Amish Mafia' has been exposed as BlatantLies.

----
!!This series provides examples of:

* AbortedArc: The majority of the show's subplots ultimately amount to nothing.
* TheAlcoholic: Crazy Dave, sadly played straight.
* AlmightyJanitor: Jolin on Levi's end, Wayne on Merlin's. Wayne however, didn't take too kindly to not being paid, taking a few levels of badass in the process.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Esther. She may look like your typical Amish woman but she's not above manipulating everyone (including her own brothers) to gain status in their community.
* BlatantLies: One of Discovery Channel's finest cases of this, as its original plot involved Levi and Esther being in love. Word of God even said that it was supposed to be more of a documentary about the Lancaster Amish, but ultimately settled on Levi and his friends, as well as their mischief.
* TheChessmaster: Merlin exemplifies this very much so in earlier seasons.
** Esther and John to some extent, along with Alan... but Levi however, he tops them all.
* ChristmasEpisode: "A Very Amish Christmas."
* Cloudcuckoolander: Freeman in earlier seasons.
** Merlin may seem like it, but he's mainly confusing his enemies with this.
* CreepyMonotone: Alvin, as the way he speaks invokes this.
* EnemyMine: Season 4 seems to be setting this up between Levi and Merlin by introducing a common enemy: 'Devil' Doug and his Mennonites.
* EvilCripple: Zach, nicknamed The Bear and one of Indiana's supposedly most terrifying Amishmen.
* FaceHeelTurn: Alan, from season 2 until near the end of the final episode.
* HearingVoices: Merlin believes God is speaking to him.
** Subverted off the show, as Merlin is a rather pleasant man.
* HeelFaceTurn: John, in season 3.
** Alan makes one in the final season, promising to protect everyone around him, Amish or Mennonite.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Merlin in the final season, but most especially during season 3 onwards. He wants to save the Amish within Lancaster from Doug and his Mennonite minions, but he also wants a piece of Levi's Amish Aid control in the process. Merlin succeeds in his quest in his part of Ohio within the final episode.
* HillbillyHorrors: The Kentucky Amish.
* KavorkaMan: Merlin to an Amish woman named Mary who's equally enamored by him in their relationship.
** The relationship however was shortlived, as confirmed by Merlin in his Facebook group.
* MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: Freeman's supposed demonic possession is much more likely a simple case of schizophrenia.
* NeighbourhoodFriendlyGangsters: Levi's duty, along with his 'mafia', is to help out his community. Half the community sees 'Lebanon' Levi as a saint.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: Doug (Devil Doug is his nickname). The Mennonites under his domain are commanded in a rally to take back Lancaster from Levi and his "bearded breeders".
* TattooedCrook: Jolin has several tattoos. It is taboo for ordinary Mennonites to have tattoos, so it is supposed to paint him as an absolute rebel.
* RuralGangsters: Essentially parodied in this "reality show" about a gang that protects an Amish community from other criminals.
* TheStarscream: Caleb, working for Doug in season 4. After losing a bull in the final episode to Levi, he decides to invoke EvilIsPetty and ultimately gets his revenge on him by exposing Levi's marriage and child.
* TookALevelInBadass: Wayne, due to having not been paid enough by Merlin. He has since gathered his own gang at one point before the show ended.
* UndyingLoyalty: Alvin, to Levi.
* VeryLooselyBasedOnATrueStory: Presents itself as RealityTV, or at least re-enactments of true events. Most often it is not.
* WeWillMeetAgain: Doug attempts to invoke this in the end, but fails. Zach partially succeeds in getting revenge, but Alan stops him by blowing up one of his vehicles.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: In Season 4, John, Esther, Jolin, Alvin, and Wayne do not appear. Some receive brief mentions, others not at all.
