->"This is that 'The Lonely Island' TV Tropes page."
->"Oh shit, TV Tropes? That's my joint!"
->"Mine too! But a lot of these busters don't know about it!"
->"Well, let's tell these motherfuckers!"

A comedy troupe featuring current ''SaturdayNightLive'' cast member Andy Samberg, and his long-time friends Jorma Taccone and Akiva Shaffer (who serve as SNL writers). They are as well known for their humorous tongue-in-cheek songs as they are for the accompanying videos (called "Digital Shorts" on SNL, though most of them are music videos, while the rest are just short films).
----
!!Murder these tropes, feed 'em to the fishes.

* AnAesop: A boombox is '''NOT''' a toy.
** You can't trust the system, ''MAAAAAAN.''
** Chex Mix = Number One.
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: The reasons for jizzing in your pants becomes... normal toward the end.
** ''How could the devil turn the blue sky black? How many babies born won't ever reach their dreams? And how could a person call another person wack?''
** "Denzel [Washington] walks, Will Smith walks, '''Mark Wahlberg is wearing a hat.'''"
* AppliedPhlebotinum: The boombox from the titular song, which can make stuffy old men and women dance, erase racism and crime, and make rich people get loose. [[spoiler:It also can cause elderly orgies.]]
** Santana DVX, especially for animals, which also causes [[spoiler:cross-species mating.]]
* AteHisGun - '''THE BOSS''' attempts this, but "pussies out (like a boss!)", though.
* AxCrazy - Dreamgirl talks to her shoe like it's her friend, yells all the time, pretends to be... something... and has threatened to stab the narrator in his sleep. ''But she won't!''
* BankRobbery: ''Shy Ronnie 2: Ronnie and Clyde'' has Rhianna and Shy Ronnie attempting to rob a bank. All he can do is shoot himself in the foot and mumble. [[spoiler:And as soon as Rhianna leaves him to the cops, bust sweet grooves.]]
* BerserkButton - '''[+++WHO SAID WE'RE WACK?!?!+++]'''
** Jeans.
** Boiled Goose.
** Throw It On The Ground's angry hipster has absolutely everything as his BerserkButton, which ''he throws on the ground''.
*** Maaaaaaaaaaaan.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment - The entire album '''BangBangBANG DJ LARRY''' aside, "The Old '''BangBangBANG DJ LARRY!''' Saloon" quickly goes from a typical Lonely Island song to drunks constantly '''BangBangBANG DJ LARRY!''' interrupting each other. It's a parody of hip hop mixtapes in which way too many sound effects are played and the singers interrupt each other, thrown in with random screaming of the '''BangBangBANG DJ [=LAAAAAAAARRRRRRRrRrrRR=]...!''' DJ's name.
** "Semicolon" seems out of nowhere for the boys - with bizarre non-sequiturs and crappy puns that are affixed to each sentence - but it's also a parody of {{Drake}} and LilWayne's style of rapping.
** BangBangBang '''DJ LARRY!!'''
* BreadEggsMilkSquick: And the actions in Like A Boss gets more ridiculous as that song progresses.
** Spring Break Anthem goes from a typical dudebo party anthem to supporting gay marriage.
* BrickJoke: ''"The following song is brought to you by Chex Mix."''
* ButtMonkey: Jorma is left off of the boat ride (and taunted for it) amongst other indignities.
** ''Who invited Steve?''
** ''That dude is a'' '''''CUNT!'''''
** He's also harassed by Ras Trent for being a "baldhead".
** [[FlightOfTheConchords What kind of rapping name is Steve? ...Steve?!]]
* ClusterFBomb: I'm On A Boat, among others.
* ChekhovsGun: ''"The following song was brought to you by Chex Mix."''
* CoolBoat: Take a wild guess.
* CrackPairing, XMeetsY: In one promo for an awards night Andy was hosting, he was claimed to be the son of Michael Cera and Jack Black.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass - Shy Ronnie. Shame he only gets a verse off.
* CrowningMusicOfAwesome: "Boombox" specifically invokes the power of this trope, and the last verse demonstrates the dangers of an overdose.
* DontExplainTheJoke: "Last week thought I saw you on the street, turned out it was a bag of trash/just a big ol' bag a'trash/(I thought you looked like a bag of trash)"
* DullSurprise: Just two guys having a good time...
* EarWorm: All of their tracks. All of them.
* EpicRiff: The bassline for Incredibad. Also qualifies as a major Ear Worm.
* FingerlessGloves
* FountainOfMemes - This page used to have a section of ''nothing but memes.''
* FridgeBrilliance[=/=]FridgeHorror: It takes many listens for it to fully settle in that Andy, Akiva, and Jorma, when 13-years-old, got drunk off Martian wine and then proceeded to have sex with a male alien at the same time so that they could repopulate a dying alien race with their sperm.
** THE BOSS's crazier actions (like chopping his balls off and bombing Russians) can be traced all the way back to getting rejected by his co-worker.
** Motherlover: "My dad can't satisfy her in the bedroom ''[[ILoveTheDead ever since he passed away.]]"''
* GoodOldFisticuffs - "Punch You in the Jeans".
* GroinAttack: ''CHOP MY BALLS OFF'' '''(LIKE A BAWSS)'''
* HeroicSacrifice: The narrator in Space Olympics, against the alien hordes.
* InJoke - Motherlover references Dick in a Box twice (throwing away empty boxes with dickholes in the beginning of the video after being released from prison, and the last verse's lyric "This is the second best idea that we've ever had"), being that they both feature Justin Timberlake.
* IntercourseWithYou - Parodied in Dick in a Box, which is a parody of all those sex ballads of The Nineties and Present Day.
** Bing Bong Brothers just flat-out mocks this (as well as the Ying Yang Twins).
* JizzedInMyPants - The Trope Namer.
* [[KarmicDeath Karmic Ass-Tasering]]: The narrator in "Throw It On The Ground".
* NotEvenBotheringWithTheAccent - Played For Laughs in Ras Trent, a song about a white college kid convert to Rastafarianism and being as stereotypical as possible.
* MemeticMutation: (action) '''LIKE A BAWSS'''
** (action) and I ''Jizzed. In. My Pants.'' (There are frakkin' videos.)
* MinorInjuryOverreaction - '''I AM NOT WACK, NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY! WHAT DID YOU SAY? DID YOU SAY I'M WACK?!'''
* OlderThanTheyThink: The troupe formed several years before Samberg joined the cast of SNL, where the three became famous.
* PornStache - The Bing Bong Brothers.
* PrecisionFStrike - '''''FUCKING PLAY SOMETHING, SAX MAN!!!'''''
* PrettyFlyForAWhiteGuy - Ras Trent. See NotEvenBotheringWithTheAccent.
* ProductPlacement - [[spoiler:Chex Mix]] in Dream Girl.
* PunctuatedForEmphasis - At the memetic part of ''Film/{{300}}'', I ''Jizzed. In. My Pants.''
* SmugSnake - Punch you in the Jeans: ''These days, a lotta cats is outta line.''
** The narrator of "Throw It On The Ground", an angry hipster trying to prove his maturity and independence who thinks showing people "reality" is "throwing their stuff on the ground". ([[LargeHam "I'M AN ADUUULLLLLLLT!!")]]
* SchmuckBait - The end of "Who Says We're Wack", where the boys found out who said they were wack by having first the ladies put their hands up, then the fellas, then whoever said they're wack, before telling everyone else to put their hands down. Apparently, whoever called them wack kept their hands up, because they were quickly picked out of the crowd.
* SerialEscalation- The titular Dreamgirl gets uglier with every verse. How ugly? Listen for yourself.
** It's music to my ears when you scream in your sleep.
** Similarly, Like a Boss deals with the day of a boss. Most of the earlier stuff is fairly mundane boss stuff (workshops, birthdays, synergy), then after a failed suicide attempt, degenerates into scoring coke, crashing his car, sucking his own dick, eating chicken strips, chopping his balls off, fucking a giant fish in a sewer, turning into a jet and bombing Russia, and finally crashing into the sun and dying.
** '''On a daily basis.'''
*** Hell yeah!
* ShootTheShaggyDog: ''Welcome to your Space Olympics.''
* ShoutOut: The trio are playing PunchOut in ''Incredibad''
* ShrinkingViolet - "Shy Ronnie". Unless kids and bank robbery victims are watching.
* SpaceOpera - Space Olympics.
** {{Deconstruction}} - Turns out, sports in SPAAAACE don't work so well.
* {{Squick}} - To the singers (and the listener, if they're not into that sort of stuff) - the ending of Boombox. [[spoiler:Elderly orgy.]]
** In the preview to the 2011 Lonely Island album, Akiva complains about his erectile dysfunction: ''Yo, my dick don't work, man, that shit is soft!''
* StylisticSuck - 'Laser Cats', which gets them thrown out of an office at the very end pf each skit. ''Even James Cameron's approval doesn't help.''
--->'''BangBangBANG DJ LAAAAARRRRRRYYYY!'''
** Any video that involves Guy #1 and Guy #2
* StealthParody - Oddly "I'm on a Boat". If it wasn't obvious enough...
* TakeThat: "Go Kindergarden" is a mockery of club anthems, the idiotic lyrics, and the idiotic things they tell the club to do, as well as the mob mentality clubbers get when these songs are played.
** "Semicolon" is a mockery of Drake and Lil' Wayne's non-sequitur, nonsensical puns.
** "I Run NY" pokes fun at rappers who claim to run NY, by giving us the Mayor who ''actually'' runs NY... and hates it for [[TheBigRottenApple being overcrowded, rude, nasty, and ungrateful for his work.]]
** "Hugs" is a potshot at various misogynistic rap songs that brag about having one-night stands with emotional women who fall in love with them.
** "You've Got the Look" mocks rap songs that talk about a single attractive and scantily-clad woman... and the double standard in it when they try the same thing with a man.
* TemptingFate - "You say you're gonna stab me in my sleep, ''but you won't!''"
* TheCameo:
** T. Pain in "I'm On a Boat"
** Creator/SethRogen in "Like A Boss" (though the album version had Akiva Shaffer as Andy's boss; Rogen only appeared on the music video version that appeared on SNL as Andy's boss while Akiva played a hooded gun dealer)
** RyanReynolds and Elijah Wood on "Throw It On the Ground"
** Justin Timberlake, Molly Sims, and Jamie-Lynn Sigler in "Jizz In My Pants"
** JackBlack in "Sax Man" - not so much as cameos as is the whole song.
** Creator/JamesCameron and Steve Martin in two seperate Laser Cats sketches.
** Will Ferrell (an SNL cast member from 1995 to 2002) and JJ Abrams (the guy who created Lost) in "Cool Guys Don't Look at Explosions".
** Natalie Portman, of all people, launches the ClusterFBomb from hell in the aptly named "Natalie's Rap".
** Julian Casablancas (from The Strokes) in "Boombox".
** Justin Timberlake in Dick in a Box, Jizz In My Pants and Mother Lover.
** Kiefer Sutherland in an episode of their eponymous "sitcom." [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QjhE93wOAA It was unintentional.]]
** E-40 as Carlos Santana in Santana DVX.
** Music/{{Rihanna}} in ''Shy Ronnie'' and its sequel.
* ThoseTwoGuys - We're just two guys, hanging out, having fun. Right, Guy Number Two?
** Yeah, Guy Number One.
* [[TouchedByVorlons Fucking a Vorlon]]: According to "Incredibad", the source of their musical talents.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood - Half the world is eating boiled goose in Boombox.
** Chex Mix in Dreamgirl. Yes, there's a reason...
* TheTreacheryOfImages - Threw It On The Ground: I'm not a part of your system! My dad's not a phone! DUH!
* TrueArtSticksItToTheMan - Mocked in "Threw It On the Ground", where the narrator constantly grumbles about the "system" and fights back... by throwing food on the floor.
** '''DUH!'''
* TwistEnding - The last few verses of Dreamgirl abruptly switch to talking about Chex Mix.
--->'''BangBangBANG DJ LARRYYYYYYY!'''
* UndeadAuthor: The BOSS, who apparently survives self-castration and flying into the sun unscathed on a daily basis.
* UnflinchingWalk: "Cool Guys Don't Look at Explosions" mocks and pays tribute to this trope. Subverted at the end, when Will Ferrell and Andy flinch as a building explosion and start running.
* VomitIndiscretionShot: PUKE ON DEBRA'S DESK '''(LIKE A BAWSS)'''
