Not to be confused with the book or the public-access comedy.

Here. A JournalRoleplay set in the wonderful world of Franchise/TheHitchhikersGuideToTheGalaxy. Or at least a giant spaceship/mobile SpaceStation in said world.

Your character wakes up on the S.S. Thor, one of a fleet of ships designed to pick up travelers whose worlds got destroyed. And yup, your character's world got destroyed. At least that's what everyone says, but don't panic. Might as well have your character enjoy him/her/itself on the station, get a job, and hope people he/she/it knows show up.

It's mostly harmless. Don't forget your Guide and your towel.

Amusingly, there have been very few characters from Franchise/TheHitchhikersGuideToTheGalaxy

----
!! This game provides examples of:
* CallASmeerpARabbit: Arguably when they say world, they mean universe, since we have people from multiple versions of Earth...and beyond. Possibly justified if you remember the whole general mish-mash from the books.
* CrackFic: Somewhat less zany than most (and can become rather serious), but it's still an RP set in Franchise/TheHitchhikersGuideToTheGalaxy. What else would you expect?
%%* EarthShatteringKaboom: A major part of the premise. People who app first from a specific canon can specify exactly how it happened, just for fun .
* FantasticRacism: Despite the S.S. Thor's mission being one of rescuing refugees from their worlds' destruction, most natives of the Thor don't actually like refugees. Taken to its logical extreme by the faction known as the Purists, who believe that the fleet's entire mission is wrongheaded and dangerous.
%%* MoodWhiplash: Sometimes funny things happen. Sometimes they don't.
* NothingIsTheSameAnymore: Subverted. The black hole plot in January 2012 looked like a setup for doing this as part of the move to Dreamwidth. In the end, though, all that happened was the Guides updated themselves to a new software version.
%%* ObstructiveBureaucrat: Comes with the territory.
* SpaceStation: The S.S Thor, though given the fact that it moves to a new place every month via Infinite Improbability Drive, it could just as easily be called a giant spaceship.
%%* TemporalParadox: For some reason, characters can come from any point in their timelines.
