[[caption-width-right:275:The AJCO coat of arms, as designed by Pythosblaze]]

''AJCO'' is a ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}''-based roleplay server created by the eponymous AJ alongside her friends Celest R and Pythosblaze, and quickly built upon by various friends-of-friends from across the net. Who then brought their friends. Who brought theirs. Who brought - well, you get the idea.

Its genre would be best described as fantasy/sci-fi and, with the introduction of the State, dystopian. The plot tends to be seperated into 'arcs' resembling seasons, with smaller character-driven arcs taking place within their respective factions. AJCO (briefly Pi-TEC), the Deserters and the Castle Crew are the primary rivals while the neutrals watch on and occasionally interfere.

Numerous blogs are dedicated to recording the conversations that take place so that those who can't participate can still enjoy, with [[http://ajco-ltd.tumblr.com/ ajco-ltd]] and [[http://castle-crew.tumblr.com// castle-crew]] being the most active. Many RP participants also have AJCO-specific blogs, the most noteworthy of which being [[http://www.angelkaja.tumblr.com/ angelkaja]] due to the amount of recorded [=RPs=] that get posted there. [[http://ajco.wikia.com/wiki/AJCO_Wiki Now has its own official serious wiki]].

----
!!''AJCO'' contains examples of:
* TwoPlusTortureMakesFive: What re-education aims to do, and after experiencing it first hand A_J is clearly taking Friendship in much the same direction.
* AccidentalMurder: [[spoiler: The Doctor and A_J went into a re-education chamber and only one of them came out.]] Considered MurderByInaction by Egg, who was asked to make the final decision and let it go ahead.
%%* AlternateHistory: The current world.
* AlternateWorldMap: The various servers/worlds/mods.
* {{Angst}}: And wouldn't you know it. Worth noting: the server tends to go through ''periods'' of angst, usually because the plight of one character will affect several others. The Castle Mages are both the crowning example and the crowning counter-example, fretting about the consequences of blood magic one week and then snowball fighting the next. They make it work.
* AssholeVictim: Most residents of the Silo/AJCO spend their time trying to one-up each other. It's hard ''not'' to feel cheerful when Breyos, for example, gets batoned across the knuckles even if it's by the equally as despicable A_J.
* BigLabyrinthineBuilding: AJCO in all its incarnations is huge and difficult to navigate for visitors.
%%* CastFullOfGay: Or it certainly seems that way sometimes.
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Due to many changes of modpacks, server hosts, and people's general ability to keep up, characters tend to disappear suddenly.
* {{Clerk}}: One of the major cliques within the FAIR-CO faction. Their leader, C_C, is Fairfax's right-hand man.
%%* ColdBloodedTorture: What tends to happen in Friendship Chambers.
%%* DoppelgangerReplacementLoveInterest: Pi and A_J had a SlapSlapKiss version going on.
* DumbMuscle: The AGRI-FAC workers are largely this, which puts them at odds with the Clerks and the Unwards.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: In the early days of RP, so it's just as well that it wasn't until much later that anyone thought to start recording them. A lot of the very early canon is being disregarded or rewritten entirely as it no longer fits with current canon, which fortunately doesn't have too much of an impact on anyone as so few characters were around back then (and several who were have been PutOnABus).
%%* ElaborateUndergroundBase: AJCO and Pi-TEC ARE this trope.
* TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt: Whenever modpacks are updated or switched, this usually happens. The most spectacular example was A_J activating The Needle and blowing a hole in the world.
* TheEvilsOfFreeWill: The State runs on this trope and therefore so does AJCO. A_J believes in it rather more than most, and tries to rectify 'non-compliancy' with "Friendship".
* EvilVersusEvil: During the Deserter arc, which was pretty much Deserters vs AJCO vs the State, the Deserters were certainly ALighterShadeOfGrey, but ''none'' of them were as 'good' as Katton or the Crew, the rivals from previous arcs.
* FramingTheGuiltyParty: What the investigation team (Kaja, Crez and Egg) were doing by breaking into Pi-TEC and rifling around. The Doctor was clearly hiding something from the start, it was simply a matter of finding the evidence to prove it.
* FunnyBackgroundEvent:
** Not usually part of the RP but when one is going on you'll often see '[player] was killed by [death reason]' in the chat. They're obviously ignored and removed from posted chatlogs. Special mention goes to:
*** "Little Krauzer was slain by Krauzer"
*** "The entire Deserters was slain by Krauzer"
*** "Pi-TEC was slain by A_J using a rather sharp rock I found on the ground"
** An in-universe example: Kaja and Clovis are arguing about the matter of Mei and Clovis' position in the Silo... while Cain and Tybalt stumble around in the background, the former of which is desperately trying to stifle nervous giggling.
* GasMaskMooks: The Breather clique, though unlike most examples the masks have a function. Namely, to stop the person wearing it from ''dying''.
* GreyAndGrayMorality: While there are a couple of characters who are entirely good, and maybe one or two who are entirely bad, almost everyone has extremely ambiguous morals - evil when it suits them, good when it suits them.
%%* HazyFeelTurn: Linked to the above. It's pretty much a given.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Several characters, such as Pythos, Nights and Egg have pulled this one off, though in most cases it is simply the side that has changed and not the morality.
* HeroicBSOD:
** After a trip into the Silo's Friendship Chamber, Nights experiences one of these, though 'heroic' is stretching it more than just a bit.
** Conversely, Egg (who definitely ''does'' fit the 'heroic' bill) experienced moments of BSOD with increasing intensity during the Silo arc. [[spoiler: First, after gassing Pi-TEC. Second, after letting the Doctor die. Third, after her failed rebellion gets everyone trapped with no food in the Silo hangar.]]
* HolyBurnsEvil: When A_J sent Finn into bloodlust-mode and threw him down the elevator shaft of the Silo, the only thing that saved the hangar's inhabitants from him was the fact that Kaja could do this.
%%* InJoke: The mankini. Oh my god, ''the mankini''!
* InterspeciesRomance: Considering that the majority of the cast are human, there are a surprising amount (admittedly, most are one-sided). Notably:
** Clovis/Mei: PlantPerson and undead anthropomorphic wolf. Considering they were married until Mei's untimely trip into the Void their relationship was probably the strongest.
** Finn/Nights: Demon and human; the feeling is mostly on the side of Finn.
** Kaja/Crez: Angel and... Crez. They run Katton together.
** Egg/Kube: Human and {{Plant Alien|s}}.
** Py/Req and A_J/Req: Human and Wisp-being respectively. It could be argued that Py is a cyborg, though she was born and raised completely human.
* ItMakesSenseInContext: There is [[http://outofcontextajco.tumblr.com/ an entire blog dedicated to recording these]], though it ought to be noted that the vast majority are from out-of-character banter. Also ought to be noted that the vast majority [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext make just as much sense in context]].
* LeaveBehindAPistol: A variation of this trope occurs when A_J expels Egg from the Silo onto the surface, which is believed to be extremely toxic. She is given a choice of dying from radiation sickness, inhaling undispersed chlorine gas...or from the single bullet A_J gives to her, for her pistol.
-->'''''' Before you leave, I will be pleased to offer you…
-->'''''' One bullet. As your friend.
-->'''''' I suggest, Prosecutor….
-->'''''' That you would be strongly advised to consider its use, once you are outside.
* TheLittleShopThatWasntThereYesterday: The Diner served as this in the previous world [[AllThereInTheManual and so did the courthouse.]]
* LonelyTogether: It was in the Silo that Egg and Kube's InterspeciesFriendship became an InterspeciesRomance for this very reason - Kube felt alone without Vinnie and Egg felt alone being the only non-AJCO resident of the office level.
* MadScientist: A_J, Pythos and arguably Nights all dabble in Mad Science.
* MillionToOneChance: There was a million to one chance that the nuclear fallout would have been blown the other way and that the chlorine gas would have been dispersed - a million to once chance that A_J and Egg would survive upon leaving the Silo. And they did.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal:
** A mild example in the Castle Crew, who splintered off from AJCO due to being ignored by their superiors.
** A stronger but [[AesopAmnesia short-lived]] example can be found in A_J, [[spoiler: who watched Pi start to die as her mechanical heart short-fused, and broke an antique that held sentimental value to the Doctor in front of her shortly after.]]
* MuseumOfTheStrangeAndUnusual: Breyos was constructing one before all of the nuclear missile shenanigans. It had a giant open skull for a door. [[spoiler: He was planning on having Holar's withered skeleton as the first exhibit.]]
* OhCrap: The [[spoiler: deceased]] bandit Mercy had a moment like this when he realised that he happened to have blundered into [[spoiler: Kaja, an angel, and one of the few beings capable of exorcising him from Egg's body without harming her]]. He eventually accepted his fate.
* OminousMultipleScreens: The Silo has several, used for surveillance.
* OneBadMother: State characters refer to their homeland as 'Mother'. It's ''very'' creepy.
* PornStash: Vinnie and Kube's reading material is somehow making its rounds around the server. Its content is fanservice for them, gross for everyone else - it basically describes two cactus people making out while surrounded by bees (who do the...work).
* PutOnABus: When a new character is wanted/needed for new story-lines, this happens. Also sometimes results as a case of RealLifeWritesThePlot.
%%* RedOniBlueOni: Completely inverting ColourCodedForYourConvenience, A_J is the Blue Oni to Py's Red.
* Room101: AJCO's Friendship Chambers, and Pi-TEC's Re-Education Suites. They use different tactics, but they're both places you don't want to end up in.
* ShoutOut: When scoping out an abandoned castle:
--> '''''' Ranger, [[Film/TheLordOfTheRingsTheTwoTowers what do your elf eyes see?]]
%%* TheresNoPlaceLikeHome: Several characters' motives.
* TortureTechnician: While A_J herself does enjoy carrying out most of the torture, this role often falls to whoever her second in command is at the time - usually it's Pythos, though during her absence the role was taken over by Breyos (which she wasn't too happy to find out when she got back).
* TruceZone: Currently, the town of Katton acts as this. In the past, places such as the Library, the trading post, the Mead Hall, and Shark Town have all been neutral ground.
* UnwittingTestSubject: Most characters find themselves in this predicament at one point or another.
* UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans: The State and the country A_J and Pythos grew up in, being a combination of various totalitarian regimes across history.
* VastBureaucracy: The facility functions as one, run by the Clerks. To a lesser extent the State itself qualifies as one too.
* WackyFratboyHijinks: What Kube and Vinnie were indulging in when they stole a spaceship and took it for a joyride across the universe, eventually crashing it on a planet so far away from their home it hadn't even been discovered by the Inter-Galactic Federation yet.
* WhamEpisode: There have been so very many [=RPs=] that fit under this, but a noteworthy example is A_J revealing just what is underneath Nights's mask. [[spoiler: The numbers '4' and '2', branded across her face, from her time as a slave of the State.]]
* WhamLine: In a conversation in the nuclear bunker between A_J and Egg after the latter's failed rebellion:
-->'''''' To ensure the continued safe operation of this FAC…
-->'''''' You will be expelled from it, tomorrow.
* WhereTheHellIsSpringfield: "The State" and other government forms are mentioned but there seem to be no defined countries or borders (though they are slowly being developed).
* WorldBuilding: Worlds plural, in fact, since most characters come from unique worlds.
