Eddie Houseman, one half of the Gray and Houseman Construction Corp., leaves his giant roadbuilding machine for a well-earned vacation, which he spends with his old flame Tin Tin Kyrano on Tracy Island. This, of couse, fires Alan Tracy with seething jealousy. During the trip, however, Houseman receives a disturbing telephone call; the cut through the mountain which his company is digging for road is not as stable as first thought. If it collapses, the lost time will mean that his company fails on their contract and will fold as a direct consequence. Heedless of the risk to his own life, Houseman sneaks off in the night with an explosives tractor to attempt to blast the rockface clear of the cutting.

He succeeds, but the concussion knocks his tractor partly off the high, narrow road. Unable to move, lest the truck tips over the edge, Houseman's collegues radio for help. International Rescue responds, knowing that allowing Houseman to see them will destroy the secrecy so essential to their work.

* BigStormEpisode: The start of the monsoon threatens to kill Eddie's company's chances of completing their road-building contract, so Eddie heads up the mountain in the middle of a downpour with a truck full of explosives to finish the job himself. The results are predictable and necessitate a visit from International Rescue.
* ButNowIMustGo: While this is International Rescue's usual MO, this episode provides a particularly noteworthy example. Since Eddie Houseman knows the Tracy family personally, the Thunderbirds leave the scene as soon as he is back in solid ground without so much as a "how do you do?"
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Of course, simply ignoring this emergency was never an option, despite the risk of Eddie recognising the Tracys.
* ConstructionIsAwesome: The road-building machine (so big that it includes the entire infrastructure and headquarters of Eddie's company) is a wonder, capable of laying 6 lanes of highway ''simultaneously''.
* CrazyJealousGuy: Alan has shades of this in this episode, since Tin-Tin is very charmed by Eddie Houseman.
* MarriedToTheJob: Eddie seems to be hitting it off with Tin-Tin, but as soon as work calls with bad news, he leaves without even saying goodbye. She doesn't take it well.
* MurderTheHypotenuse: After having spent half the episode moping about Tin-Tin reigniting her old flame with Eddie Houseman, Alan sounds just a little too hopeful when suggesting they can't go and save him because he would recognise them.
* RudelyHangingUp: Eddie does this when his boss practically pleads with him over the radio not to carry out his dangerous mission.
* ShipperOnDeck: Grandma Tracy would very much like to see Alan and Tin-Tin together, and isn't above applying some trickery to make it happen.
* TheTag: After Eddie is rescued, he says that he wants to be the first to thank International Rescue, only to find that they have already left, as they don't want him to recognise them.
* TooDumbToLive: Eddie Houseman; he is well aware of the dangers of going up the mountain alone, yet he goes anyway. It establishes how desperate he is to see his company stay in business.
* WhenItRainsItPours: Heavy rain caused the landslides in this episode; Eddie is seen planting the charges in the mountain that stormy night, with rain pouring down his puppet face.
