->''Those who enslave others, inevitably become slaves themselves.''

Anakin, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan and Rex go undercover on Zygerria in an effort to discover the location of the slaves and dismantle the new empire.

!!Tropes:

* AffablyEvil: Queen Miraj is the leader of a race of slavers and declares slavery to be the natural order of things. That said, she's a very polite individual and holds little contempt towards Anakin for ruining her slave auction, but that has more to do with her VillainousCrush.
* AllThereInTheScript: Queen Miraj Scintel’s name is revealed through the end credits of the episode.
* ArmorPiercingResponse: When Queen Miraj makes her WeCanRuleTogether offer to Anakin, saying that he is a slave to the Jedi already, and if the two of them willingly work together there will be nothing they can't accomplish, Anakin simply remarks "''We'' are nothing. ''You'' have all the power." This response actually gets the queen to have a look of shock for a moment, but she tries to amend this by offering to free Anakin's friends if he agrees to become her lover, so he can share in her power.
* TheBadGuyWins: The episode ends with the Zygerrians successful in capturing our heroes. The warden on Kadavo succeeds in subduing Obi-Wan, the prime minister has the freedom to mercilessly torture Ahsoka, and Anakin is the queen's slave; she offers to free Anakin's friends if he willingly submits to her.
* BatmanGambit: Agruss knows that he can't easily break a Jedi through threats of physical harm, so he threatens to harm the enslaved Togrutas instead if Obi-Wan doesn't comply. It works like a charm.
* BedlahBabe: Ahsoka dresses in a blue slave outfit that leaves her belly exposed.
* BetterToDieThanBeKilled: A Twi'lek slave girl commits suicide rather than be reprocessed after failing to assassinate Miraj Scintel.
* BreakTheBadass: Obi-Wan is forced into submission to the Zygerrians after Agruss drops slaves to their doom on Kadavo to make a point that the Togruta slaves will end up being the ones suffering should Obi-Wan rebel.
* BodyguardCrush: Inverted with Queen Miraj and Anakin. She forces him to become her personal bodyguard because ''she'' has a crush on him.
* BullyingADragon:
** After Anakin is exposed and taken prisoner, Queen Miraj decides to indulge in a little EvilGloating at his expense. She quickly comes to regret it when Anakin [[PsychicStrangle instinctively throttles her with the Force]].
** Prime Minister Atai Molec tries this with Ahsoka, claiming that the Queen has promised she will be his personal slave. Ahsoka responds by using the Force to make Atai lose his balance, nearly causing him to suffer a DisneyVillainDeath.
* CallForward: The fight at the slave auction starts off with Anakin getting eye contact from the others, before signaling R2 to fire their lightsabers; one of the heroes is disguised as a {{Mook}}, and the only heroine is disguised as a slave girl -- much like the beginning of the battle at the Sarlacc pit in ''Film/ReturnOfTheJedi''.
* {{Cliffhanger}}: This episode goes into the mid-season break with all four heroes captured and seemingly without hope of escape.
* DarkestHour: This episode ends with our heroes captured by the Zygerrians and separated in different locations, with Ahsoka being sadistically tortured by the prime minister of Zygerria Atai Molec, Rex and Obi-Wan sent to Kadavo, and, for the record, Anakin as Queen Miraj Scintel's personal slave and guard. The queen tempts Anakin to join her willingly in exchange for the freedom of Anakin's friends.
* DespairEventHorizon: Obi-Wan crosses this after Agruss drops slaves to their demises to discourage Obi-Wan from trying to rebel against him because he will make the slaves suffer if he does so.
* {{Determinator}}: Anakin manages to stay conscious after being subdued with at least 6 electric whips.
* DownerEnding: The first half of the fourth season ends thusly: Our heroes have been thwarted in their escape from Zygerria and are separated. Ahsoka is imprisoned above the Zygerrian queen's palace and is being tortured mercilessly by Atai Molec. Obi-Wan and Rex, along with the Togruta governor of Kiros, Roshti, are sent to Kadavo and submit to the Zygerrians after the warden Keeper Agruss drops several slaves to their doom. Anakin is now the Zygerrian queen's personal slave and guard on Zygerria and is left pondering whether to join the queen willingly in exchange for the freedom of his friends. In other words, the attempt to locate the colonists has failed, and we assume that no one is coming to rescue our heroes. The ending is made even more tragic by the fact that the last part of the story arc, "[[Recap/StarWarsTheCloneWarsS4E13EscapeFromKadavo Escape from Kadavo]]", didn't air till January 6, 2012. Sure, things get better next episode, a month later, but that was still a very bleak way to end the first half of a season.
* DressingAsTheEnemy: Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Rex wear Zygerrian armour while Ahsoka plays the part of a slave girl.
* DrivenToSuicide: A Twi'lek slave, after a failed assassination attempt on Miraj Scintel, throws herself off a balcony rather than continue being a slave.
* DualWielding: Anakin briefly fights with his lightsaber and an electric-whip that is tied to his hand.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: The slave pen warden, Keeper Agruss, drops a band of slaves to their death in an inactive volcano just to make a point to Obi-Wan of how he intends to break his will.
* ElectricTorture: Zygerrians seem to be a big fan of this, as they routinely subject their slaves to it. In particular, Atai does this to Ahsoka at the end via her shock collar.
* FamilyUnfriendlyDeath: The Twi'lek slave jumping to her death and showing her corpse is certainly dark for a family show.
* FatBastard: The warden, Keeper Agruss, is a portly Zygerrian who uses a hover chair rather than walk anywhere and kills about a dozen slaves to make a point in his only scene of the episode.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Keeper Arguss warmly greets Obi-Wan and treats him like a WorthyOpponent, before dropping a bunch of slaves to their deaths just to prove a point. All this within fifteen seconds.
* GoGoEnslavement: A slight variation. As part of the ploy, Ahsoka dresses in a rather revealing BedlahBabe slave girl outfit that makes her look even hotter than she already is.
* IHaveYourWife: The only thing that stops Anakin from throttling Queen Miraj to death is her reminder Obi-Wan, Ashoka and Rex [[IWillPunishYourFriendForYourFailure are still captives and will pay the price for his defiance]].
* LovesTheSoundOfScreaming: Atai gives a nasty SlasherSmile as he listens to Ahsoka's screams of ElectricTorture.
* MsFanservice: This is probably the episode where Ahsoka's good looks are most focused on, due to her revealing BedlahBabe outfit and Queen Miraji's comments on her beauty.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Anakin stops an assassination attempt on the queen (though the way it's shot, it could appear that the dagger was aimed at him) to keep his cover, in the end he'd likely be better off letting the assassin succeed.
* OhCrap: Queen Miraj's reaction to Anakin responding to her mockery by Force-choking her.
* TerrifyingRescuer: Obi-Wan scares the heck out of Governor Roshti when he's trying to rescue him from slave traders because he's disguised as one of them.
* SadisticChoice: Queen Miraj offers one to Anakin: Free his master and his apprentice, but become a slave once more himself, or let them be sold into slavery.
* TranquilFury: After Ahsoka becomes the personal slave of the prime minister, she simply sits cross-legged in the cage he put her in, seemingly meditating. When he taunts her, without even opening up her eyes, she casually flicks her hand and uses the Force to nearly send him over the edge.
* TheUnreveal: Whatever compliments Anakin whispers to Queen Miraj, after claiming no price for Ahsoka could match her beauty (and other [[TalksLikeASimile fulsome praise]]), are left unknown to the viewer. But they certainly please her (even as she [[DismissingACompliment coyly dismisses them]]), and contribute to the trope below.
* VillainousCrush: Queen Miraj Scintel slowly starts to develop one on Anakin after meeting him. When she sees him fight her guards in the arena and sees how much it takes to bring him down, she falls completely in love with him and forces him to become her bodyguard, later offering [[WeCanRuleTogether to make him her lover so they can share her power]]. Apparently that charisma Anakin claimed he'd use on her was extremely effective.
