->''Where we are going always reflects where we came from.''

A Togruta colony on the planet Kiros sends a distress signal after being invaded by the Separatists, and Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka, with their clone forces, are sent to the planet in response. Upon arrival, they discover the population of the colony completely missing. Searching the city, they find battle droids and a Zygerrian slaver named Darts D'Nar, who informs them that he has planted bombs throughout the city that he will set off if the Republic forces do anything, destroying it in the process. While Obi-Wan goes to confront D'Nar in the tower where he's holed up, Anakin and Ahsoka set off to disarm the bombs. When D'Nar discovers that his bombs have been disarmed, he attempts to flee in his spaceship. Anakin and Ahsoka capture him and he is forced to reveal that the colonists of Kiros have been sold into slavery on Zygerria, but he boasts that the Jedi will never be able to free them.

!!Tropes:

* BerserkButton: Anakin is positively ''unhinged'' when he learns that they're dealing with slavers, even Force-pulling the holoprojector out of Cody's hand and crushing it when he sees D'Nar's message.
* CallBack: Ahsoka mentions that the only thing Anakin's told her about his past [[Recap/StarWarsTheCloneWarsMovie was that he didn't want to talk about it]], and Obi-Wan tells her about how Anakin grew up as a slave.
* TheCameo: Admiral Yularen makes a brief appearance. Plo Koon and Yoda also have brief speaking appearances.
* DestinationDefenestration: Obi-Wan Force-pushes D'Nar's tactical droid out the picture window of the tower after D'Nar activates the bomb he'd attached to its back.
* HumanShield: Rex points out that the droid army has never been shy about using this tactic, making the absence of any of the colony's residents even more unsettling than it would be normally.
* IAmNotLeftHanded: Obi-Wan stops holding back during his fight with D'Nar after all of the bombs have been disarmed and starts by Force-crushing the two commando droids in the room.
* InternalReveal: Obi-Wan tells Ahsoka of how Anakin was sold into slavery alongside his mother by the Hutt clans before he became a Jedi.
* ItsQuietTooQuiet: When the Republic forces arrive on Kiros, Ahsoka and Rex both find the colony's eerie quiet to be unsettling, with the latter pointing out the droid army's habit of using civilians as [[HumanShield living shields]] makes the absence of people even more abnormal.
* {{Leitmotif}}: The Imperial March plays when Anakin grows enraged after finding out they're dealing with Zygerrians.
* {{MadeASlave}}: The Zygerrians, working with the Separatists, do this to the entire population of Kiros.
* NonActionGuy: Kiros is a colony of artists and therefore, as Governor Roshti informs Yoda, they cannot resist the Separatist forces.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: Ahsoka manages to fight and disarm Darts D'Nar as he's trying to escape Kiros (bear in mind that he was armed with a ''laser whip''), all while Anakin was fighting off one of his creatures he sicced on both of them.
* SlaveryIsASpecialKindOfEvil: Anakin certainly thinks so, in no small part [[ItsPersonal due to his own childhood]]. Yoda also shares his sentiment, noting that slavery is a very valuable asset for dark side users.
* SmugSnake: Darts D'Nar, who doesn't realize until far too late that Obi-Wan was letting him win their fight as a stalling tactic.
* WhyAmITicking: D'Nar had attached a bomb to the back of his tactical droid, which he uses to escape after Obi-Wan stops holding back.
* WireDilemma:
** Ahsoka opens up the first bomb and wonders which wire to cut. She and Anakin end up disarming the bombs by slashing them with their lightsabers.
** They then discover that the last two bombs are linked and must be disarmed simultaneously, which is problematic when there are two shielded sniper droids firing on their position.
