->''The challenge of hope is to overcome corruption.''

After winning neutrality for Mandalore, Duchess Satine finds her planet consumed by corruption, as people turn to the BlackMarket for desperately needed supplies. Hoping to alleviate the problem, Satine invites Padmé Amidala for a diplomatic visit. However, the problem abruptly grows personal when schoolchildren become ill thanks to toxic tea, requiring a solution immediately.

----
!!Tropes:

* ArmourIsUseless: When Satine, Padmé, and the police storm the warehouse where the tea is being diluted, the police carrying riot shields are the first to go down.
* BlackMarket: Due to Mandalore's status as an outsider system because of its neutrality in the Clone Wars, people are turning there for supplies. This leads to a mass poisoning of schoolchildren.
* CarFu: When the school superintendent attempts to escape on a speeder, two of Satine's guards block his attempted getaway with their own vehicle.
* DeathGlare: Siddiq is quick to respond to one from Satine in response to him saying he'd have to narrow down the schedule to just the ones for the tea.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: Satine is so furious about the poisoning of the children that she orders the warehouse where the toxic tea was being made be burned down, even though the police captain himself notes there's evidence in there. This action destroys said evidence and any clues that might have helped root out more of the corruption she's so keen to prevent.
* DirtyCop: Some members of the Mandalorian police are helping guard the smugglers' base where the tea is being diluted and bottled.
* DramaticIrony: The audience knows that the problem is tea diluted with a toxic agent sold by smugglers long before the investigators do.
* FiveSecondForeshadowing: The school superintendent looks uneasy when Dr. Zaz reports the analysis has detected slabin in the drink, at a high enough concentration to be toxic. It turns out that his black market dealings are to blame for the toxic tea getting sold in the school.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Prime Minister Almec's first suggestion for the culprit of the mass poisoning is Death Watch, and he's rather callous and unhelpful about the situation...
* {{Hypocrite}}: One of the members of Satine's council accuses Padmé of this when she tries to talk to them, noting that the Republic's dealings on the black market and corruption far surpass Mandalore's.
* MamaBear: Satine is absolutely furious about Mandalorian children being endangered thanks to the corrupt dealings on the black market.
* ObviouslyEvil: The ones smuggling in the tainted goods are tall, green-skinned snake-men with fangs.
* OneWordTitle: "Corruption".
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Committed pacifist Satine is so furious about children being endangered that she threatens physical violence on the school superintendent and Siddiq.
* PoliceAreUseless: The non-corrupt police have been rather slow to notice the black market dealings and bribery happening at the docks, as evident in the police captain's skepticism when Satine and Padmé tell him about the bribery they witnessed firsthand.
* SequelHook: Satine asks Padmé to speak with the Jedi about sending someone to work at the academy undercover to help root out the causes of corruption.
* ShoutOut: The scene featuring the poisoned children at the hospital, as well as black marketeers being responsible for the dilemma, heavily invokes Film/TheThirdMan.
* StealingFromTheTill: The school superintendent accepted the smugglers' offer on the tea because the deal meant he could keep some of the government money for himself.
* TamperingWithFoodAndDrink: Looking to make a profit, the smugglers dilute the tea with an agent called "slabin", which the apprehensive scientist doing it notes is toxic. Mooga retorts that it's only toxic in the wrong dosage, but the leagues of children getting sick make it clear working with the stuff is a tricky business.
* UnlimitedWardrobe: The two ''Star Wars'' champions of this trope, Padmé and Satine, finally meet and don't disappoint as they change their hair and outfits in almost every scene.
