Jerry and Elaine attempt to hook up with David (Creator/CaryElwes) and Beth (Creator/DebraMessing), a married couple who split after a joking comment made by George, with the latter even attempting to bring them back together. Kramer buys some blue jeans to wear but are so tight, he struggles with even walking.

!!
* AdultsDressedAsChildren: When Kramer scares Joey away and runs out, he has Mickey come over and lay in bed and pretend to be Joey. The plan could have worked though, if Mickey hadn't said "Goodnight" when Joey's mother came in.
* CoincidentalAccidentalDisguise: Kramer's babysitting charge Joey watches ''Frankenstein''--just after Kramer gets new, extra-tight jeans that make movement nearly impossible. His stiff gait, naturally tall build, and unkempt hair make Joey think Frankenstein's monster is out to get him, especially when Kramer pursues him through a foggy street.
* DrivesLikeCrazy: Elaine, who manages to be able to drive for the first time in years, isn't the most steady woman behind the wheel, and ends up making Jerry sick.
* EnforcedMethodActing: An in-universe example has Mickey getting frustrated with Kramer during his audition when the latter is unable to sit down due to his tight jeans and yelling at him to sit down. Fortunately, this experience helps Mickey get a spot in The Actors' Studio.
* EveryoneHasStandards: For all the many, many faults George Costanza has, he does not want to be the reason a married couple broke up and does what he can to fix their strained marriage.
* HopeSpot: After David makes a crack to Susan about how she should do better than George, George is ecstatic when Susan leaves to think, hoping she'll call off the wedding. But when she returns, she tells George she wants chicken to be served at the wedding.
* IronicEcho: "Boy you could've done a lot better than him." An interesting version of this. George made that comment to Beth in jest while meeting her and David, which causes them to briefly split up. Later on, when David meets Susan, he says that line. But unlike how David feels about Beth, George is happy and hopes this will make Susan reconsider marrying him.
* LackOfEmpathy: While played straight for Jerry and Elaine, putting on the sympathetic façade just to hook up with David and Beth, this is notably averted by George of all people, who feels incredibly guilty about breaking them apart and helps them get back together. One of the few instances he shows regret over his actions.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: Zig-zagged. George apologizes to Beth and David for his comment and does try to bring him back together. David, however, still resents George for it and turns the tables on him by making the same comment to Susan. But George, of course, wants out of the marriage and hopes she'll end it. But after doing some thinking, she still intends to go through with it, just telling him she wants chicken served at the wedding.
* OohMeAccentsSlipping: Cary Elwes's natural British accent slips in a couple times.
* UngratefulBastard: David doesn't forgive George for his comments, despite his efforts to bring them back together, and tries to turn the tables on him by making the same comment to Susan. Not that George cares, since he wants out of the marriage anyway.
* WardrobeMalfunction: Kramer wears blue jeans so tight, he can't take them off. This results in him walking funny and being unable to sit down.
