!!Tropes:
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: George and Jerry console Elaine after she fails at getting her boyfriend to the airport on time. This kind of compassion is extremely rare for the show, and was quickly phased out.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Open flames, it turns out, are ''not'' the only fire hazard the restaurant has.
* IWasJustJoking: When George comments to the manager about how the busboy accidentally left a menu to catch on fire, Elaine joking says "I'm never eating here again". Unfortunately, the management ends up taking this seriously and fires the busboy. Elaine even comments she didn't mean it.
* LifesavingMisfortune: Antonio, the titular busboy, is initially angry at getting fired, especially after George tries to apologize but just ends up making the situation worse. However, he ends up grateful when a gas explosion at the restaurant kills five employees, including his replacement.
* {{Misblamed}}: George carries the burden of guilt for Antonio losing his job when all he really did was explain why the menu caught fire. If anything, Elaine is more responsible for the firing with her poorly-timed joke, but it's never brought up, and in the end, Antonio attributes the "stupid, insensitive remarks" to George.
* NegatedMomentOfAwesome: Elaine's record-making drive to the airport gets interrupted, thanks to the five-car pileup on Rockaway Boulevard.
* OutOfFocus: Jerry doesn't have a storyline in this episode. Most of the episode is centered around George's plight with the busboy, with Kramer tagging along, and Elaine's clingy housemate.
* TheThingThatWouldNotLeave: Elaine considers a week too long to have a houseguest.
* YankTheDogsChain: After learning about the gas explosion that has killed five people, including his replacement, Antonio is ecstatic to George for saving his life. And on top of this, he reveals he's gotten a better job being a busboy at another restaurant. But it's short-lived when Antonio gets into a fight with Elaine's housemate. They both get injured after falling down several flights of stairs, and it's mentioned Antonio lost the better job.
