Ferb misses the big idea due to being away for debate camp, so the kids recall what they did the day before. The kids decided to train a group of domesticated squirrels to help them rediscover their true, wild selves. Meanwhile, Perry (who was with Ferb at debate camp) goes to the beach to foil Doofenshmirtz's latest plan, but since he was also missing, Doofenshmirtz fills him in on what happened the day before. Doofenshmirtz attempted to build a Leaky Faucet-Inator to soak his brother Roger with a giant drop of water; unfortunately, he was forced to deal with Perry's substitute, Agent R (a rhinoceros).

!!Tropes
* AstonishinglyAppropriateInterruption:
-->'''Phineas''': It was about that time that Candace came up to us and said...\\
'''Candace''': Phineas and Ferb, I demand to know what it is that you got planned today!\\
'''Phineas''': Yeah, that!\\
'''Baljeet''': Just like yesterday!\\
'''Buford''': 'Cept for the "Ferb" part.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: Doof begins his flashback by saying, "And it all started with an establishing shot of my building."
* TheCameo: The farmer and his wife (the one who is always TemptingFate) are seen participating in the [[https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/phineasandferb/images/0/01/Doofenshmirtz_at_the_clam_bake_contest.jpg clam bake contest]] Doofenshmirtz is also participating in.
* CaptainObvious: When Candace leaves to get her mom, she tells Phineas not to say another word until she gets back, and then says the same goes for Ferb. After a {{Beat}}, Phineas says...
-->'''Phineas''': That was ironic, because [[DontExplainTheJoke Ferb doesn't usually talk.]]
-->'''Candace''': Duh!
* CatchphraseInterruptus: In the flashback, Phineas is about to say, "Ferb, I—", but then remembers that Ferb was at debate camp. So Baljeet adjusts his eyes to fill in for Ferb, saying he's been practicing.
-->'''Buford''': ''(on all fours)'' Oh! Oh! Say, "Where's Perry?" now! I've been practicing.\\
'''Phineas''': Okay. Where's Perry?\\
'''Buford''': I dunno. Whatta ya askin' ''me'' for?
* DefyingTheCensors: Doof and Agent R arrive in time for the swimsuit competition. But since this is a kids' show, that doesn't mean ''wearing'' swimsuits. It means flinging swimsuits like a javelin contest.
* IAmNotWeasel: The same judge from Ferb's debate camp later appears in Doof's flashback saying, "That pharmacist is in it to win it, dawg!"
* LampshadeHanging: This episode has this in spades throughout the episode, such as Doof pointing out to Perry that he couldn't see his flashback, and Buford saying that they were finally getting to the musical sequence.
* NarrationEcho: Lampshaded by Phineas at the start of the flashback.
-->'''Phineas''': It all started simply enough. I'd gotten up early to help Isabella earn her surf patch.\\
'''Isabella''': Thanks for helping me earn my surf patch!\\
'''Phineas''': ''(voiceover)'' And I told her it was no problem.\\
'''Phineas''': ''(in flashback)'' No problem!\\
''(both Phineas and Isabella look annoyed)''\\
'''Phineas''': ''(voiceover)'' It was at that point that I decided to stop narrating.
* NoodleImplements: Doof's original plan to take over the Tri-State Area involved domesticated squirrels (supposedly the same squirrels that Phineas and the gang were training), paper doilies "and those containers that pantyhose used to come in, about this big..." but he couldn't figure out [[MissingStepsPlan how to make them work]] because he was distracted by his leaky faucet.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: Isabella says the squirrels are doing a pyramid, which she never taught them to do. Though it happens offscreen, so we'll take her word for it.
* OrphanedPunchline: We hear one from Buford at the beginning of the episode. Turns out, he never told the first half of the joke to begin with.
-->'''Buford''': So then the seamstress walks back into the stateroom and says, "'Titanium'? I thought she said 'cranium'!" Hahaha, yeah. Pretty good punch line, huh?
-->'''Baljeet''': Yes. All you need now is the first part, and then you will have a whole joke.
* ShoutOut: One of the judges says, "[[Series/AmericanIdol This kid's in it to win it, dawg!]]" Of course, it is later revealed that he was actually talking to a dog.
* SubvertedCatchphrase: When Agent R arrives at Doof's door, he says, "How completely unexpected! And by that, I mean... it really was actually unexpected."
* SureLetsGoWithThat: When Linda is impressed that Buford taught the squirrels to dance, Buford says he is like an onion, and Baljeet questions if it is because he has layers, Buford says, "Yeah, that, too."
* TheSymbiote: An oxpecker lands on Agent R, which infuriates Doof, who tells him to find another symbiotic relationship.
* TrainingMontage: The kids decide to train the squirrels how to be squirrels, boot camp style.
* TitleDrop: By Ferb.
-->'''Ferb''': "Training nuts"? Okay, what'd I miss?
* {{Tuckerization}}: Doof's inator is the A-Leaky-Faucet-inator, which is named for one of the episode's writers, Aliki Theofilopoulos.
* TheVoiceless: Vanessa makes a brief appearance but has no lines.
* WholeEpisodeFlashback: Ferb and Perry were away at debate camp, so this episode is told in flashback by the rest of the gang to Ferb, and by Doof to Perry.
