* ChekhovsGun:
** While bonding, Eliot gives Molly one of the team's earpieces. After she's kidnapped, she uses it to talk to him.
** Part of their bonding involved teaching her how to pop the balloons at one of the carnivals semi-rigged games. He shows off by using a mirror to aim over his shoulder. She declines to follow suit by telling him that "I don't like what I see" when she looks in a mirror. In the end, she lets him know she's in the funhouse by telling him she doesn't like what she sees.
* CrusadingWidower: Turns out Connell's wife died a year ago and he's been obsessed with work and renovating his house ever since. The renovations were started by his wife and he's determined to make the perfect house she never saw, but they are so expensive that he's willing to steal to the chip to pay for it.
* DataDriveMacGuffin: The team attempts to retrieve a data drive from a vault in the mark's high-tech home... however, that quickly becomes secondary to saving the mark's daughter, who's been kidnapped by the Russian mafia in an attempt to recover the drive for themselves.
* DentedIron: Eliot gets hit in the head ''with a carnival ride''. It knocks him out for about 30 seconds and he still manages to win.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Daria is offended by the idea that she would physically harm Molly, since she spent more time with Molly than her own father did.
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** When Molly is kidnapped, the team immediately drops the con and informs Connell, and prioritizes getting Molly back over all else.
** Sophie also gives Connell a chance to talk to Molly on the comm.
* FriendToAllChildren: Eliot befriends Molly as soon as he meets her while the rest of the team focuses on the job. When the Russians kidnap her, everyone drops everything to get her back.
-->'''Nate:''' No, this can't be an abduction, this is K&R. The Russian buyers, they want the chip. We are on a reset. Our main objective is the girl. We find her, bring her back safe. We lose the chip if we have to. We burn Connell if we have to. Anyone have a problem, speak now.
* TheGlovesComeOff: After Molly's kidnapped, Eliot asks Nate:
-->'''Eliot:''' Nate, if I'm engaged...\\
'''Nate:''' Do your worst.

* PapaWolf: Connell's had blinders on ever since his wife died, such that he's willing to rip off his employee, but when the Russians kidnap his daughter, he drops everything and loses the shitty attitude. By the end of the episode, he's a changed man.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney: Connell wonders how the hell the team got an absurd [=McMansion=] approved by the zoning board. The guard he bribed to let him see the plans just holds up the bribe in response.
* TeamPowerWalk: The team marches into the carnival shoulder to shoulder to get Molly back.
* WouldHurtAChild: The Russians kidnap Molly to force Connell to give them the chip.
