Manuel Ortega and his wife Natalie are murdered in a restaurant by a Colombian drug cartel assassin. Ortega and his boss flew members of the cartel into the country. in the process of the investigation, Cerreta is shot. At the end, the cartel makes sure there are no loose ends by killing any surviving people involved.

* BallisticDiscount: Inverted. Lobrano, a gun dealer the detectives are attempting a sting on for evidence against the cartel, gets it in his head that Cerreta is trying to rip him off. He shoots the elder detective, ending his career on the street.

Ben informs him that she doesn't have an uncle, and Adam's eyes widen in horror at the realization that she's dead too.
