Logan and Cerreta are investigating the murder of Julian Decker, a photographer who worked with catalogue models. It soon becomes clear that the victim had a sideline pimping out older or less successful models for sex work and porn shoots. One of these was Angela Brandt, who needs the money for her daughter Tracy's school fees. Angela's fingerprints are on the murder weapon, and her DNA matches the body of Decker - who had had sex with someone just before he was killed. She is charged with murder.

Angela's ex-husband now says the alibi he gave her is false, but because he changed his story, this gives the jury grounds for reasonable doubt. Furthermore, the judge excludes the DNA evidence because it isn't a perfect match. But then Stone and Robinette discover Tracy was secretly in a relationship with Decker. The judge orders that Tracy have a psychiatric examination before a decision is made on whether she can testify. Her account leads Olivet to suspect Tracy is the real killer. Stone realizes that Angela and her ex both lied about her alibi to protect Tracy.

Tracy's DNA is a 100% match to Decker's body. She confesses that Decker broke up with her after her mother threatened to have him arrested. He agreed to do what Angela wanted because she was making him a lot of money from sex work, while Tracy had no hope of becoming a professional model. He bluntly told Tracy that she wasn't attractive enough to be a model, and she lost her temper and stabbed him. Stone agrees to a plea for Tracy to remain in a juvenile facility until she's 18.

* ArtisticLicenseStatistics: Subverted. The defense lawyer is successfully able to convince a judge that an 80% DNA match to her client is not conclusive enough to establish culpability, and Stone is all up in arms about how the judge is an idiot for being unable to understand that science is sometimes imperfect. However, it turns out that the DNA, was, in fact, not the client's; it was the client's daughter's DNA.
* CastingCouch: Decker's actions amounted to this.
* HayseedName: Betty Ann Carter, appropriately for a Southern woman.
* HighHopesZeroTalent: Tracy desperately wanted to be a model but was repeatedly turned down because her legs weren't good enough.
* [[LoveFatherLoveSon Love Mother Love Daughter]]: Decker was sleeping with Angela and Tracy at the same time.
* SingleMomStripper: Angela got into sex work to pay for her daughter's school fees, since her ex-husband wasn't contributing much.
* SouthernBelle: Betty Ann Carter fits this trope and even says that "Miss Southern Belle" was one of her past beauty pageant titles.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: When Angela shows the detectives a picture of a rival on a magazine cover, Logan thinks the other model is around 30 and is shocked to learn that she's only 16.
