Peter, Joe, and Quagmire dare each other to stay awake for more than 24 hours. Meanwhile, Chris falls for a black girl, who turns out to be Jerome's (from "Jerome is the New Black") daughter, who doesn't approve of the relationship because of his prejudice against white people.

!!Examples:
* AllForNothing: After all the fight to establish the relationship, Pam does not appear again after this episode, and Chris is still single.
* BlackGalOnWhiteGuyDrama: The main plot of the episode.
* DoubleStandard: Jerome initially believes that Black people can't be racist to White people, despite White people's negative treatment of him being the main reason why he dislikes them to begin with. Fortunately, he learns his lesson at the end of the episode.
* HalfwayPlotSwitch: The first part of the episode is about Peter, Joe, and Quagmire making a bet to see who can go the longest without sleep. Peter wins the bet and uses the money he won to go out to dinner with his family, and during their meal, Chris bumps into Pam, Jerome's daughter, and they begin talking, leading to the main plot of Jerome forbidding Chris from seeing his daughter.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Lampshaded by Lois (who once dated Jerome) when Jerome lambasts White Men dating Black Women (accusing Chris of seeing Pam as a "novelty") and he replies that Black Men having a relationship with White Women is a "very pleasant page in [their] memory book".
* HypocriticalHumor:
** Peter points out that Jerome is racist, to which the latter says "Black people can't be racist.", even though he's broadcasted how he feels about other White people besides Peter and Lois.
** Pam insists Chris was not just trying to bed her, as he had given her a diamond necklace. When Lois revealed he had ''stolen hers'', Chris immediately responds "Cool it, I'm trying to get laid!"
* JerkassBall: At no point between his debut and this episode had Jerome ever showed racism toward whites. Here, the conflict revolves around his sudden hatred of them.
* ListSong: “Thank the Whites”, a song Peter sings to Jerome about all the amazing contributions white people have made to pop culture. It only [[EpicFail riles him up further into hating whites]].
-->''We gave you Series/BreakingBad and all the songs by Music/{{Creed|band}}''\\
''All the cast of Series/{{Friends}} and trash like Creator/TaraReid''\\
''[[TheInternetIsForPorn A virtual world of porn so you can spill your seed]]''\\
''Ray-Ban glasses, leggy blondes with tiny asses''\\
''Frisbee sports, and fancy coffee too''\\
''Energy-efficient lights...''\\
''And so for all this awesome, neat, wonderful stuff''\\
''Y’know you don’t thank the Lord, you thank the whites!''
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: It is only when Peter insisted his family completely stay away from black people, and Pam then asks Jerome if that's what he wanted her to learn, that he realizes he's essentially encouraging segregation and judging others on their skin- in other words, becoming what he hated.
* NegativeContinuity: Pam only exists to supply the plot of the episode, and is never seen before or since.
* PoliceBrutality: Discussed and implied to be at least partly the reason he distrusts whites. Jerome gets into a scuffle with a cop and then tells Peter that he's always treated like a criminal when he's not.
* PrankCall: During their stay awake contest, Peter calls Cleveland and pretends to be Loretta to freak him out. Quagmire then calls Mort and pretends to be Muriel.
* PrettyFlyForAWhiteGuy: In the song "Thank the Whites", Peter mentions Music/{{Eminem}} and Music/JustinBieber as two of the things white people have given to the world, even though they dress and try to talk like black people.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Surprisingly enough Peter acts as this (if still a somewhat mindless case). After Jerome forbids Chris to see his daughter, he spends most of the episode rationally arguing his son's case. When Jerome still refuses, he accepts that they must respect his wishes (though then takes it an extra mile by assuming they can't see ''any'' black people, leading Jerome to have a HeelRealization).
* RevengeIsNotJustice: Jerome's disapproval of Chris stems from his wariness of white people due to facing years of racial prejudice. Peter witnessed this first hand when the pair are stopped by a cop despite not committing any crimes and Jerome admits to Peter that he gets pulled over multiple times a day. When Jerome and Peter do finally reach Chris and Pam, Peter forbids him from ever interacting with black people, something that shocks Jerome and [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone makes him fully realise that he's encouraging segregation and similarly judging people because of the color of their skin.]]
* SelfDeprecation: During "Thank the Whites", one of the things listed as something white people contributed to pop culture is ''WesternAnimation/TheClevelandShow''.
* TwoOutOfThreeAintBad: This exchange (also a subversion, since two out of three isn't good, according to Jerome):
--> '''Jerome''': If we're friends, what's my last name?
--> '''Peter''': Cool J?
--> '''Jerome''': Where am I from?
--> '''Peter''': The south part of a large city?
--> '''Jerome''': Where did I go to college?
--> '''Peter''': Does it air commercials during daytime judge programs?
--> '''Jerome''': Peter, you only got two of those three things right!
* SleepDeprivation: The first act has Peter, Joe, and Quagmire challenging each other to see who can stay awake the longest. After being awake for ''62 hours'', they all start experiencing {{hallucinations}}, Peter sees Quagmire as a toilet and tries to sit on him, Joe sees a pizza with Peter and Quagmire's faces on it, and Quagmire watches Joe go down a spiralling slide into a colorful void.
* WhiteGuilt: Peter experiences this when Jerome tells him how it feels to be treated like a criminal his whole life because of his race and realizes that he's been living a lucky life through white privilege. Naturally he takes it to the extreme, when he then insists to Chris that they won't ever engage with other black people again.
