'''Curtain of Cruelty'''

'''Original air date:''' 6/21/2002 ''(produced in 2001)''

'''Production code:''' CCD-306b

An ominous wave of pink light rips across Nowhere, turning whoever it engulfs cruel and nasty; except Courage and Muriel and Eustace, (who of course, is already cruel and nasty enough). As Muriel is taken away to rehabilitation for being nice, Courage must stop the effects of the curtain so the Nowhere townspeople can become kind again.
!! These episodes contain examples of:
* ChekhovsGun: Muriel's homemade fabric softener.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: When the Curtain of Cruelty passes over the town, Muriel and Courage are the only ones unaffected, letting us know the former's homemade fabric softener is the cure.
* HatePlague: The Curtain of Cruelty turns everyone in Nowhere into jerks. Muriel and Courage are immune to it because of the fabric softener, while Eustace is unaffected because he's already a jerk.
* HeelFaceTurn: At the end of the episode, Floyd, the Creator of the Curtain of Cruelty, is this after he's hit by the Curtain of Compassion.
* NothingIsScarier: Whatever Muriel saw that was supposed to brainwash her into being mean, it's best we don't know the entire content of it.
* TookALevelInJerkass: The townspeople, courtesy of the titular Curtain of Cruelty.
* TookALevelInKindness: The townspeople become this after the effects of the Curtain of Cruelty are reversed by the Curtain of Compassion. Eustace [[StatusQuoIsGod remains]] being a jerk though.
