!!Tropes for "Stormy Weather"
* BullyingTheDragon: Downplayed. While the results aren't deadly, it's not exactly wise of Muriel to get into an argument with a storm goddess, even if it was something over who would keep Courage. As a result, the Storm Goddess's temper creates a hurricane that threatens to blow away Muriel.
* GreenEyedMonster: Invoked. To help Duncan break the spell the God Bone has on him, Courage pretends to wholeheartedly like the Storm Goddess, making Duncan insanely jealous of all the attention he's getting. It works!
* MoralityChain: Courage accidentally falls under the spell of the God Bone and is unable to lick its sumptuous taste. The only reason he snaps out of it and wills himself out of its spell is because he thought of Muriel, and how he needed to save her.

!!Tropes for "The Sandman Sleeps"
* CountingSheep: The episode starts with the Sandman bringing a flock of sheep to his bedside to jump over him so he can count them and go to sleep. But the sheep get bored waiting for him to sleep, so they pass the time by arm wrestling or playing poker. One sheep even finally yells "Just go to sleep already!"
* ExhaustionInducedIdiocy: The longer Muriel goes without sleep, the less and less capable she is of functioning. It gets to a point where she serves Eustace a bowling ball for breakfast.
* SecurityBlanket: In the climax, Courage discovers why the Sandman has trouble sleeping at night. It's because he's been missing his comfort object, a toy panda he's been missing for so long. Thanks to Courage finding it, the Sandman relinquishes Muriel's ability to sleep soundly.
