->''"[[RantInducingSlight You know what it's like to go to sleep every night knowing you work for a bunch of psychotic killers, and you bastards are probably gonna end up killing me one day?! You know what it's like knowing you've ruined my life?! You know what it's like, you sons of bitches?! I'm tired of your crap! You commit evil, you're part of an evil system, and we're standing up against you! And the Republic is going to defeat you in the end!]]"''
-->-- '''Alex Jones, engaging in one of his [[HairTriggerTemper typical]] [[ConspiracyTheorist tirades]].'''

Texan radio host and ConspiracyTheorist, '''Alexander Emerick Jones''' is an anarchist[=/=]libertarian who purports that the elite is plotting to kill 80% of world population [[TwentyMinutesIntoTheFuture any minute now]] via vaccines, food, fluoride and [[EverythingTryingToKillYou pretty much everything, really]]. He's also the guy who snuck into Bohemian Grove and took video, which he claims shows the world Elite about to sacrifice a baby to [[GodOfEvil Moloch]].
----
!!Tropes applicable to Jones and/or his conspiracy theories, with [[YMMV/AlexJones a page for subjective tropes here]]:
* ArtisticLicense-Religion/CriticalResearchFailure: Even though {{Atheism}} isn't a religion this still counts, he once claimed that atheists were funded by satanic cults, atheists don't believe in satan and theistic satanists aren't atheists. Not to mention, atheists aren't just one collective that can be funded.
** He also claimed that homosexuality was created by the government
** Let's face it, we could do this all day
* {{Absurdism}}: Here's a drinking game for those who love drinking: take a shot or down your beer/cider/lager/whatever every time he says something stupid. You will be dead by the end of the video.
* {{Angrish}}: When really angry, his speech will make [[UpToEleven even less sense than normal]].

* AxCrazy: Jones seems to believe that the majority of the New World Order qualifies as this. To the detractors who don't believe he's a liar, Jones himself qualifies as this, particularly with what he wants to DO to the NWO such as beat them to pieces against the pavement and start eating them.
* BattleCry: Loves screaming at the top of his lungs when fired up.
* BigBad: Jones believes that the members of the US government are merely cronies for the bankers, who desire to [[ForTheEvulz commit atrocities against the human race]].
* BerserkButton: Far too many to list (as well as for his own good), to the point you wonder how he hasn't died from heart failure yet.
* [[BlueAndOrangeMorality Red, White, And Blue Morality]]: Jones views the republic as the chief good, and [[CloudCuckoolander various]] [[InsaneTrollLogic other]] [[ConspiracyTheorist things]] as evil.
* BriefAccentImitation: Done in his interview with Piers Morgan, in which he did a pseudo upper class RP accent for a good minute or two.
* CardCarryingVillain: The way Jones interprets events, it would seem that practically everyone who serves the New World Order qualifies as this, especially Barack Obama and Bill Gates.
* CatchPhrase:
** "You can't make this up, people!"
** "INFOWARS.COM!!!"
** "DRUDGEREPORT.COM!!"
** "PRISONPLANET.COM!"
** More guns less crime!
** The answer to 1984 is 1776!
** [[{{Hypocrite}} Let's not exaggerate!]]
** We're going to skip this network break.
** It was worse than I thought.
** "How many chimpanzees can dance on the head of a pin?"
* CatharticScream: Jones will indulge in them whenever he gets [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMQLLqiKaas sufficiently]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uR2UXmTGK4M riled up]].
* CloudCuckoolander: Seriously, the majority of his theories ''do not make sense'', and any that do often end up clashing with ones that don't, or made more sense but now show a huge difference in the content and data presented.
* CoolAirship: Alex's response to the recent influx of cool airships being built for cargo and military recon purposes was to claim that they were being semi-permanently deployed to near-space altitudes using solar power("I can show you with a telescope!"), dump immense quantities of chemicals into the atmosphere, and simultaneously keep Orwellian surveillance on everyone. Oh, and [[InsaneTrollLogic those airships are actually being used as a coverup for the REAL high-tech dirigibles, which are being passed off to the public as alien UFOs.]]
* ComicalAngryFace:
* ConspiracyTheorist: A rather (in)famous one.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: A fixture of many of his theories.
* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer: His "review" of the film ''{{Film/Watchmen}}''.
** Back in his public access days in Austin, he gave a similarly misinformed "review" of ''VideoGame/DeusEx'', a game that took more than a few cues from Jones and similar conspiracy theorists.
* CriticalResearchFailure:[[invoked]] More or less the defining trope of Jones. One of his favorite tactics is to quote a speculative column stating one person's opinion speculating about the future, and citing it as fact of things which are already happening NOW. This of course is just a subcategory of his speciality: taking everything completely out of any semblance of context. Strangely equally acceptable to his critics.
** When quoting an article about a scientist who proposed that humans would eventually split into an attractive race and an ugly, goblin-like race ala TheTimeMachine, Alex claimed that this was proof that the Elite were going to use eugenics to breed themselves into a [[ANaziByAnyOtherName beautiful blond, blue-eyed race]] and everyone else into ugly goblins they could laugh at. Aside from [[GodwinsLaw mentioning nothing of eugenics, the article mentioned nothing of blond-hair and blue eyes,]] but described the "pretty" race as having "coffee-colored skin," which would imply dark hair and brown eyes.
** Not to mention that in the TheTimeMachine it was the former upper classes that become the weak dimwitted species, while the working class became the strong, industrious Morlocks.
** 33 is [[AMouthfulOfPi pi]]!
** He once showed a picture of a gigantic, torpedo-shaped, silver, solar-powered NWO subspace super-Zeppelin nearly a kilometer long, which dwarfed the ''{{Hindenburg}}.'' Except it was actually a picture of a unmanned high-speed police blimp in Ogden, Utah, one which is barely 15 feet long and a foot wide. You could have seen the remote control pilot in the same picture for scale had he not been cropped out of the image!
** One of his more bizarre claims is that Pepsi is flavored with liquefied aborted fetuses. He somehow arrived at this conclusion from an article about an R&D firm employed by Pepsi which used human taste receptor cells in certain lab experiments. These were not obtained from fetuses and have nothing to do with the manufacturing of Pepsi.
* DisproportionateRetribution: Get questioned by Piers Morgan on policy and his opinions, after you've questioned his and gone completely off topic, no less? Lose your temper and start a petition to get him deported from your country. ([[RuleOfCautiousEditingJudgement We know it's legal for both of them to voice their opinions under the 1st Amendment, PLEASE don't go any further into it.]])
* DystopiaJustifiesTheMeans: Alex all but namedrops this trope when discussing what he believes to be the final objective of the New World Order.
* {{Eagleland}}: One of his catchphrases is "The answer to [[Literature/NineteenEightyFour 1984]] is 1776." According to him the conspiracy to create the new world order has existed since before the American Revolution and the founding fathers did the revolution to stop the new world order.
* EnragedByIdiocy: Inverted, as he seems to get annoyed by things which make more sense than he claims. Played straight with his detractors.
* [[EvenEvilHasStandards Even Bigotry Has Standards]]: [[Radio/TrueCapitalist Ghost]], notorious for being a hateful conservative bigot, would get ''really'' pissed off if compared to Alex Jones.
* EverythingTryingToKillYou: Alex thinks that just about ''everything'' is part of a massive global conspiracy by the Elite to depopulate Earth down to 500 million people.
** [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2w2TRxSLxw And now, juice boxes are apparently part of the conspiracy, as well.]]
* FanDisservice: There is a video of him topless at one point. Alex Jones is an overweight man. Do the maths.
* FatBastard: To his detractors.
* FatIdiot: To his detractors. It's also worth nothing that Alex Jones himself views Michael Moore as this, citing the [[MindScrew "psychic obesity"]] that he has, as the chief reason he qualifies for this trope. If some of his guesses regarding the September 11 attacks offend you, he may or may not fall into FatBastard territory.
* ForTheEvulz: The motivation of the New World Order according to Jones.
* GambitRoulette: The schemes that the New World Order enacts are heavily reliant on playing dice with the world.
* GodwinsLaw: He draws several parallels between his conspiracies and the Nazis, [[InsaneTrollLogic no matter how disconnected the subject it]] or [[YouFailHistoryForever historically inaccurate.]]
* GutturalGrowler: Has elements of this when talking.
* HairTriggerTemper: Alex Jones himself. It's actually easier to count the times where he ''isn't'' shouting.
* HotBlooded: VERY. And he says so.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Alex Jones made a REALLY big deal over GlennBeck being a great big "fake" because he's "obviously" faking all the tears he sheds on the air. Of course...this was before Jones's UpToEleven super-blubber amid a big-time "Where are the real men?!" moan....
** He also regularly uses government numbers to try to back up his claims while also stating that government numbers can not be trusted.
** Known for ranting on the shallowness of actors and popular culture, while he regularly hangs out with Joe Rogan and ''Charlie fucking Sheen''.
* IdenticalStranger: He looks a lot like Creator/BillHicks. [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bdM9xcnfus This]] video postulates Bill faked his own death and is now Alex Jones and while YMMV on how true that is, they do share a resemblance.
* InsaneTrollLogic: Exactly how he concludes that some of the things he reports about are evidence of an evil conspiracy is befuddling. Even more befuddling is the fact that some people ''believe'' him.
** A good example of this would be his belief that leftist political groups that are out to regulate the economy to prevent corporate influence are somehow in league with the same corporations they try to regulate. (Corporations with anti leftist political views mind you.)
* IShallTauntYou: He tries this on people, presumably so he can sue them if they react. Ironically, it's incredibly easy for HIM to be taunted.
* KavorkaMan: [[UnreliableNarrator He claims]] to have [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYJWFwoHWAw numerous women attempt to make advances towards him.]] However, he insists that he's devoted to his wife, and never reacts to the advances of other women.
* KillEmAll: The goal of the Elite, according to Alex.
* LargeHam: So much that fellow ham Creator/CenkUygur was amused at his behavior.
* LaughingMad: [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nv9xRJaIgi4 Indulges in this]] [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ccX_PQtlMY a few times]].
* MoodSwinger: Has, on rare occasions, gone from super angry to relatively calm, then back again in a matter of seconds.
* NamesTheSame: As a famous and pretty much 100% uncontroversial British MagazineShow host. Who is female (name is short for Alexandra).
* NoIndoorVoice: See LargeHam.
* ObfuscatingInsanity: According to the BBC's Andrew Neill, it's all an act.
* OccamsRazor: A ''lot'' of his theories fall victim to this, particularly ones about the elite wanting to kill off 80% of world population. Why would the elite want to render their position meaningless, and even if they did have a reason what grounds would they have for keeping him alive?
** His most recent whopper is claiming that the government deliberately sicced a ''freaking tornado'' on Oklahoma. Yes, this would be the same Oklahoma that '''sits smack dab in the middle of Tornado Alley.''' Note that this is nothing new for him- for years, he's been claiming that the government's been altering the weather with [[UsefulNotes/{{Airships}} camoflaged solar-powered high-altitude super-Zeppelins]], HAARP, chemtrails, mundane aircraft, etc.
* OnlySaneMan: Fancies himself as one of the few voices of reason and justice in a world where The New World Order has brainwashed, bribed, or desensitized most people. Needless to say, [[InternetBackdraft a ''lot'' of people find that view to be utterly bogus]].
* OpenMouthInsertFoot: Given the way he talks, it might as well be "Open foot, insert mouth".
* PhraseCatcher: Most people on the Internet have a variation on this: "Yes, Alex, you can make (insert here) up and you just did."
* PoliceBrutality He theorizes that the reason for this is because the NWO goes out of it's way to hire individuals who [[ForTheEvulz love the idea of abusing power.]]
* RantInducingSlight: Sort of the entire point of his broadcasts.
* RapeAsBackstory: According to Alex, he was sexually assaulted by the [[http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2013/01/alex-jones-detained-by-tsa-prior-to-piers-morgan-interview-153581.html TSA.]] It is a sad commentary on the state of the world that this is probably the most believable thing that has ever come out of his mouth.
* RashomonStyle: There are two distinct accounts of the "infiltration" of Bohemian Grove and their ceremony "The Cremation Of Care", as Jon Ronson was doing a piece on Alex Jones at the time. Alex's version, as noted at the page head, includes possible baby-sacrifice and deeply occult, satanic practices, and heavily implies that his life was at risk. Jon Ronson, meanwhile, saw a bunch of drunk Fortune 500 types watching a community-theatre level open-air performance of a pretty daft little playlet, followed by a fair few of the spectators peeing on trees because they couldn't be bothered to find a toilet...
* RatedMForManly: Jones seems to place a particular emphasis on his own masculinity. In one instance, he explains that his [[HairTriggerTemper rage]] is what happens when he starts working out a lot, and goes on to talk about how he swam 2 miles and [[RealMenEatMeat ate a giant steak]] a few days prior. In another instance, he contemplates buying a big car, and dressing up in [[SleevesAreForWimps cut off sleeves]] in order to counterbalance what he sees as the [[SissyVillain emasculating influence of members of the New World Order]]. Furthermore, he also has the tendency to talk about how tempted he is to [[CurbstompBattle beat up]] or even [[ARealManIsAKiller kill]] members of the N.W.O in order to protect his family.
* ShirtlessScene: Recorded a video where he calls out ''TheYoungTurks'', whilst [[FanDisservice shirtless for the majority of the video]] .
* SitcomArchNemesis: Ironically [[Radio/GlennBeck Glenn Beck]] thinks Alex Jones is a crazy conspiracy theorist, and Alex thinks Glenn is jealous of him for all the heat he gets.
* SissyVillain: Jones sees many of the agents of the NWO as smug, prissy individuals who use their campiness in order to [[BitchInSheepsClothing hide their wicked intentions]].
* SoftSpokenSadist: Seems to view Barack Obama in this light, if his recent "Obama Lecter" segment is anything to go by.
* SmiteMeOMightySmiter: Once confessed to praying for the destruction of the ''entire Earth'' if it meant his enemies were killed in the process.
* SmugSnake: His view on Bill Gates. Ironically, many of his detractors view him in the same way.
* StealthParody: Possibly used against him in the rotoscoped film ''WesternAnimation/WakingLife''. In it, he is shown yelling one of his monologues over a car loudspeaker, while the animation slowly increases his skin hue to brighter, darker shades of red. This could just be a simple exaggeration used in many pieces of animation, or a reference to the ''imprisoned psychopath'' who is shown in the same way earlier in the movie while he loudly and publicly devises the ''most harmful and painful way to kill the people who got him into prison in the first place''.
* StupidEvil: According to Jones the New World Order wants to reduce world population to 500 million through imprecise methods and causing the world to collapse for no reason, which defeats the purpose of taking it over in the first place.
** Jones seems to believe that at it's core, the members of the NWO simply [[ForTheEvulz engages in evil for the sake of it]], to the point that they have enacted [[GambitRoulette incredibly convoluted schemes]] in order to achieve their ends.
* TheChewToy: Piers Morgan is a regular victim of a verbal beat down ever since he had Alex as a guest on his show.
** Larry Pratt gave Piers an earful the very next night.
** Ted Nugent also gave Piers an (attempted) verbal beatdown.
* [[TheDragon The Kraken]]: Dan Bidondi
* TheEmpire: The New World Order
* ThatMakesMeFeelAngry: He's set off too much.
* {{Troll}}: Both he and his detractors often view each other as this.
** For what it's worth, the BBC's Andrew Neill said that after Jones knew he was no longer on the air following an interview on Neill's "Sunday Politics", he stopped with the angry talk instantly, saying it's just an act.
** The petition to deport Piers Morgan was a successful attempt at trolling CNN, gun control advocates, and Piers Morgan.
* VocalEvolution: Back when he was hosting local radio shows in Texas, his voice was noticeably higher and less gravelly. According to Jones himself, years of screaming have resulted in the voice he has today.
* WeAreStrugglingTogether: An attempted collaboration with fellow conspiracy loony Jeff Rense resulted in a very vicious falling out between the two, mainly because both of them suspected the other of being a double agent for the 'other side'.
** How about his belief that David Icke's "lizards rule the planet" theory was distracting from the NWO's real goal?
** Following his ranty performance on PiersMorgan's CNN show, GlennBeck said that Jones was "giving the left the perfect poster boy for their attempts to paint every logical conservative[[note]]Presumably, Beck thinks he is one of these, and while conservative is inarguable, logical is at minimum debateable.[[/note]] as an extremist nut job." Jones then called Beck "that little piece of trash." PassThePopcorn, anyone?
* ZeppelinsFromAnotherWorld: Has a bizarre fixation on airships. He thinks they're tools of the NWO.
