* PaperinikNewAdventures: This series was a huge hit in Italy, creating a new DarkerAndEdgier universe for the superhero Paperinik (DonaldDuck alter-ego), a whole new pack of memorable [[OldHeroNewPals friends, allies and enemies]] and discussing mature themes such as the difference between what is logical and what is right, how humankind would/should treat other forms of sentient intelligence (especially artificial ones) and the consequences of our actions. So far, the comic book series has only been exported to some European countries.
** Speaking of Disney, the upcoming Graphic Novel for [[VideoGame/EpicMickey2ThePowerOfTwo Epic Mickey 2]] won't be released in America.
* Pretty much any European comic, aside from ''ComicBook/{{Asterix}}'' and ''ComicBook/{{Tintin}}''. Most successful European comics (such as ''ComicBook/SuskeEnWiske'' and ''ComicStrip/{{Jommeke}}'') do actually have a part of their library that is translated to English, but poor initial sales has more often than not been the main reason for the refusal to export comic books to foreign markets.
** [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ast%C3%A9rix_et_ses_Amis Not even Asterix is immune...]]
** Papercutz has started to publish [[ComicBook/TheSmurfs Smurfs]] comic books that haven't seen an English translation for years.
** ''[[ComicBook/BenoitBrisefer Benny Breakiron]]'' is also getting its comics published in English by Papercutz.
** ''ComicBook/{{Iznogoud}}'': {{Averted}} quite a few times; In TheSeventies and TheEighties by [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egmont_(media_group) Egmont]] and [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methuen_Publishing Methuen]], in the 80's again by [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dargaud Dargaud]] themselves, in TheNineties with Phoenix Press' [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Iznogoud Monthly Comic]], which ran [[ShortRunners for three whole months]]. Currently, Creator/{{Cinebook}} have the license, and have been putting two albums out a year since 2008.
** A good proportion of the work of Creator/{{Moebius}} (basically almost everything except ''Comicbook/TheIncal'') is practically impossible to find in English. Older volumes are mostly long out of print and sell for massive amounts online, and newer volumes have not been translated at all, reportedly because Giraud's widow has no interest in doing so.
** ''ComicBook/DeRodeRidder'' was exported in graphic novel form under the title ''The Red Knight'', but poor sales stopped the idea of exporting it from going anywhere.
* IDW's ''Series/DoctorWho'' comic book can't be sold in the UK because of licencing reasons (since [[Magazine/DoctorWhoMagazine other]] [[http://www.dwamag.com/ companies]] already have the licence for UK ''Doctor Who'' comics).
* ''ComicBook/NovasAventurasDeMegaman'' will probably never see a release outside of Brazil. Not surprising, considering that some parts have a harder DarkerAndEdgier vibe than most versions, [[HotterAndSexier the rampant nakedness that appears near the end]], and the BloodierAndGorier bits make the Japanese versions of the ''VideoGame/MegaManZero'' games look somewhat tame in comparison. Not to mention that some countries have [[ComicBook/MegaMan their]] [[Manga/MegaManMegamix own series]].
* Marvel and DC Comics have a hard time with publishing their comic books in the Belgian region Flanders and the Netherlands. Probably because De Standaard, who has almost complete dominance over all books in these regions, refuses to sell their comic books. You may still find them in some areas there, but saying that a good chunk of their library is never translated into Dutch for that reason may be an understatement.
