A movie that spoofs action elements in police films (and police films in general) is not without intensity, but also shows the harsh and even gruesome reality that officers of the law have to endure.

* The opening montage, whilst pretty awesome to learn a bit about Nicholas Angel's background and education in working for the London Metropolitan Police, features a small bit where he is stabbed in the hand by a man dressed as Father Christmas (Santa Claus). The facial expression of the assailant, Angel's pained and agonized face, ''and the knife impaling through the latter's hand'' is impossible to watch without cringing in pain and horrific on its own.
* The village of Sandford, and the Neighbourhood Watch Alliance that runs it with an iron fist. It may seem like a quaint, quiet and peaceful village to visit and/or live in at first glance, but it's only a facade of the true hidden elements that it covers. While a large metropolitan area has more chaotic activity (though the law can work its best efforts to solve and stop crimes), a small village can have crime or serial killings made and/or continue without anyone getting clues, rendering those occurrences to be marked as isolated incidents.
* The deaths of several of the victims are enough to invoke ParanoiaFuel, especially since the dark hooded figure shows up to strike them swiftly but well-calculated and effectively.
** Martin Blower and Eve Draper are encountered and decapitated by the hooded figure in the dressing room after they finished their (albeit poorly-acted) homage of Romeo & Juliet. The next morning, their demise is staged to look like a road fatality and the crime scene is ugly to look at. Seems that Tony Fisher is right about Brian Libbey the paper boy having nightmares for a while...
** George Merchant being bludgeoned in the head by that same (or similar) hooded figure in his own home. They rest his body at a table, then cook beans and bacon on the stove, leaving the gas on, and set lit candles at the table, creating a fiery explosion that sends his corpse flying out of there. Even his fried remains are grotesque to look at...
** Tim Messenger's fate was a spire of the church's tower pushed off of the roof by the same hooded figure falling into his head, causing it to explode and splatter right in front of Nicholas Angel who was supposed to meet with him about some important information regarding the land of Sandford. Even more thought-provoking, his death would most likely be seen as a case of murder instead of an accident since Angel was able to get a glimpse of the figure up at the roof.
