American composer/musician, best known for being one of the co-founders of Music/{{Devo}}. After that, he went on to score various television shows (''WesternAnimation/{{Rugrats}}'', ''BeakmansWorld'', ''Series/{{Sliders}}''), films (''Film/HappyGilmore'', ''Film/{{Rushmore}}''), video games (''TheSims 2'', the ''JakAndDaxter'' and ''Franchise/CrashBandicoot'' series), and even commercials (that [[EarWorm annoying jingle]] in the "Get a Mac"/"I'm a Mac and I'm a PC" ads). He's effectively part of Creator/WesAnderson's ProductionPosse, scoring five of Anderson's seven features (the exceptions being ''TheDarjeelingLimited'' and ''The WesternAnimation/FantasticMrFox'').

He also has a great interest in drawing and painting, and currently hosts the drawing segment Mark's Magic Pictures, on ''Series/YoGabbaGabba''. His art tours regularly, including a show of the hand-painted postcards he sent to friends and family during his years on tour, a series of antique photos mirror-imaged to create the titular "beautiful mutants", and a series of paintings turned into rugs.
