(həd) Planet Earth is a PunkRock band from Huntington Beach, California. Their style of music, dubbed "G-Punk", draws mainly from PunkRock and HipHop, touching upon HardcorePunk, Reggae, and occasionally Funk, Jazz and HeavyMetal.

Their lyrical subject matter is quite diverse, ranging from some of the more frivolous subject matter of GangstaRap (pot smoking, sex, etc.) to more political topics. Vocalist Jared is also heavily interested in conspiracy theories, like government cover-up of alien life, the Illuminati, etc.; because of this, Hed PE is often overlooked or downright condemned, despite the diversity of their music.

!!This band demonstrates the following tropes:

* IHaveManyNames: Most current and former band members have aliases.
* RevolvingDoorBand: The band has frequently changed line-ups over the years, mostly with guitarists and drummers, with the only consistent members being Jared, Mawk and DJ Product.
* TheStoner: Entire band.
* TribalFacePaint: Often worn by Jared since the band's formation, this has recently extended to the rest of the band, especially when playing for audiences, and comes into play heavily on some music videos, like "Here And Now".

* ArcNumber: The band often refers to the year 2012, and draws lyrical themes from various theories surrounding the year.
* EruditeStoner: Jared, in real life.
* EsotericMotifs: Various.
* ImGoingToHellForThis: "Amerikan Beauty" features this line.
* IntercourseWithYou: Quite a few of Hed's songs are about this. And not in a subtle or metaphorical way, either. "Work On This", for example, contains a female vocalist singing the lyric "I don't wanna love you, I just wanna fuck you".
* OneWomanSong: "Sophia"
* PoliticalRap
* ShoutOut: Quite a few.
** "Feel Good": "Satan laughing, spreads his wings and gets a new tattoo"
** "Crazy Legs": The entire chorus originated from a line in Slick Rick's "La Di Da Di".
** "Boom (How You Like That)": "You're in the jungle, baby, you're gonna die!"
** "The Box": "No woman - no cry - know why? Cuz e'rythings gonna be alright" (taken from Bob Marley's song of the same name)
** "Daze of War": "But we don't give a fuck if you don't give a fuck" (alteration of a Music/SnoopDogg lyric)
** "Game Over": "it was all a dream, I was smoking all the finest weed, like a Kottonmouth King." Sid Vicious is also referenced.
* ThisMeansWar: This line occurs in the song "War".

* BonusMaterial: Each of their albums has bonus tracks on international releases, usually on the Japanese editions. New World Orphans was originally released in three different versions, each containing unique bonus tracks; when it was reissued on iTunes, its only bonus track was the single "Here And Now". Fans who preordered Truth Rising received a Skull and Bonus CD, which contained exclusive songs, remixes and an interview with Jared in which he discussed the 9/11 Truth Movement.
* CoverVersion: A few, including "Crosstown Traffic" and "For What It's Worth" (retitled "Children" by the band). In concerts, the band has covered songs by Music/RageAgainstTheMachine and Music/BobMarley.
* GenreBusting
* GenreMashup: It's not unusual for Hed PE to begin a song with a HardcorePunk lead, switch to rapping over a HipHop beat, then jump into another style.
* GenreRoulette
* HardcorePunk
* HarshVocals: Aside his occasional growling, he sometimes performs bluesier harsh singing.
* HiddenTrack
** Their self-titled album contains one dubbed "Tits, Clits and Bong Hits" by fans
** Broke has some studio outtakes
** Insomnia has audio of a newsreport involving an explosion at a THC extraction lab operated by then-Methods of Mayhem leader and former Hed PE member Tim Murray. The most revealing part of the audio is when the reporter specifies that manufacturing marijuana is more illegal than selling or possessing it.
* HipHop
* LuckyCharmsTitle: The band's name includes a schwa, a letter used in the International Phonetic Alphabet.
* PunkRock
* ThreeChordsAndTheTruth
* XtremeKoolLetterz: "(həd)"

* ShoutOut: The animated music video for "Truth Rising" briefly features a figure that strongly resembles the Hatchetman.
