'''Captain Jack''' is a German Dance music group that is known for their songs “Captain Jack” and “Drill Instructor” in 1995. Their songs were featured in VideoGame/DanceDanceRevolution, and many other rhythm-based games at the time.

Franky Gee died in 2005 due to a cerebral hemorrhage and was replaced by Bruce Lacy as the rapper of the group.

!Tropes in Captain Jack and their music are:

* ActorAllusion: Franky G was enlisted in the US Military and was positioned in Germany. He became a DJ there and this was how he formed the group. His job as a soldier became his theme.
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking
** In the song “Say Captain Say Wot” this lyric in the first verse goes, “When you feel like a star, want a drink at the bar, but you can't get far, nobody knows who you are”
** In “Sir Yes Sir” Captain Jack says “All of you get on the floor, or should I kick your ass some more, scream and shout and call my name, or do you wanna feel the pain?”
* AudienceParticipationSong: Their music was in the format of the audience following Captain Jack’s commands.
* BoastfulRap: In “Little Boy” Captain Jack lays down how he is not a “little” boy and to continue dancing in his command.
* CoverSong: "In The Army Now" was a cover of the same song by [[Music/StatusQuo Status Quo]], released in 2017.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Franky Gee was thinner in the first music videos, and used to rap similar to soldier commands. He also used to slip in curse words.
* SirSwearsALot: Captain Jack slipped in swearing sprees at random. At the time, it was unlikely for a song in this style to contain any swearing outside of “ass” or “damn”.
* ShoutOut:
** In the self-titled song, Captain Jack says “Bring me back to the railroad track!” Which is a reference to the song “Choo Choo Ch'Boogie” by Creator/LouisJourdan.
* ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnything: Our Captain and his crew are military personnel, but they only seem to party while boasting their status.
