''Nyotai-ka'' is a comedy {{ecchi}} manga by Rouga Ruen, which was serialized from 2009 to 2012 for 60 chapters.

The story focuses on a junior {{Salaryman}} named Manaka Makoto, who, frustrated by his lack of success in his own love life, decides it would be [[ForTheLulz amusing]] to troll an online dating site as a {{GIRL}} in order to spread the frustration. This winds up epically backfiring when a goddess decides to intervene and make him [[GenderBender an actual woman]].

!! This series provides examples of:

* ACupAngst: Iwanami doesn't exactly have small breasts, but she is quite jealous that Makoto's female form is markedly better endowed than herself.
* AllJustADream: Makoto convinces herself that her first NearRapeExperience was all just a dream after her SecondEpisodeMorning, though it clearly wasn't.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Why Makoto became a girl. He's tired of lavishing his money and attention on women who don't reciprocate, so he wishes he could be a girl so someone would pay attention to him for a change. On a deeper level, Girl-Makoto does get the attention (and gifts) Boy-Makoto wanted but at the cost of living with the constant burden of men who expect sex in return and aren't particularly willing to take no for an answer. And she quickly learns that just being a young women means getting constantly hit on by pretty much every male she encounters.
* BlessedWithSuck: Makoto's body produces strong pheremones, to the extent that it makes it difficult for straight men and lesbians to control themselves in her presence. This is supposed to teach Makoto some sort of lesson, even though it's also shown to have an adverse affect on the men, at least one of whom is shown wracked with guilt afterwards.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: Nandikesvara claims her goal is to increase faith in the gods but has a rather odd view of the lessons she thinks she needs to impart to humanity. Makoto eventually learns to be a better person despite this.
* BuxomBeautyStandard: Makoto's female form is, by Iwanami's estimations, either a D or E cup and causes ACupAngst on her even though she's average-sized. It also causes Makoto to become a DudeMagnet.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Iwanami can be this to some scary extremes.
* CloserToEarth: Makoto comes to firmly believe this -- despite significant evidence to the contrary -- because ''every'' man he meets tries to hit on him but only ''some'' of the women, and after spending time as one he has more sympathy for the women.
* CosmicRetcon: The whole world gradually shifts to accommodate after Makoto becomes female. Even her own parents forget she was ever male.
* TheCynic: Makoto has become deeply cynical about romance at the beginning, but like many cynics he's actually a severely disappointed idealist.
* DirtyOldMan: Director Murakiyama regularly harasses and gropes Makoto, earning himself a [[MegatonPunch Megaton Punch]] in return, though the the grossest incidents (in both senses of the word) turns out to be an ImagineSpot in which Makoto plays out her worst fears. It turns out also has a [[ChivalrousPervert nice side]] and risks his business ties to save Makoto from a more serious pervert.
* DemonicPossession: Hotarugawa Kei gets this a few times. Mostly from Nanashi, but occasionally also from various deimu. The former just turns him into a girl, the latter does so as well but also [[spoiler: ends up turning him into a monster. Possibly a [[{{Youkai}} Tsuchigumo]].]]
* DoggedNiceGuy: Subverted. Makoto is the kind of nice guy that women like to hang out with (and take advantage of) while they're looking for someone more manly. It's him getting fed up with the poor results of his dogged niceness that kicks off the plot.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: Nanashi, [[UnsettlingGenderReveal much to Kei's surprise.]]
* FailedASpotCheck:
** Iwanami completely fails to notice Makoto has somehow transformed from a tall skinny man to a petite buxom woman. However, there seems to be some sort of WeirdnessCensor effect, because none of their fellow employees seem to notice either. Makoto's change is eventually raised to the level of a CosmicRetcon.
** People stop noticing Iwanami after [[spoiler: her existence is "thinned out" to keep her a man until the poison wears off. She starts to worry that eventually Makoto will also stop noticing her.]]
* FanService: It is an ecchi comic after all.
* ForTheLulz: Makoto's whole role in the plot was triggered by his tendencies to mess with men just for fun. His transformation was, in part, the result of this trope by a goddess' tendency to mess with humans just for fun.
* GenderBender: Several characters multiple times.
** Both Makoto [[spoiler: and later Iwanami, though only temporarily]] transform during a moment of intense sexual desire, which causes some rather odd problems, much in the vein of the movie ''Zerophilia'', though it also provides them with a lot of fun.
** Amusingly enough, Nanashi does this to both Kei and himself while possessing him in order to harvest spiritual power from their sexual partners.
** FirstLawOfGenderBending: Played straight. Makoto eventually becomes a woman permanently but Iwanami does not stay male for long. Kei however does go back to being a man permanently once Nanashi moves on to hanging out with Nandikesvara.
** SecondLawOfGenderBending:
*** Intially subverted: Nandikesvara triggers the CosmicRetcon prematurely because she thinks Makoto has accepted womanhood when she has sex for the first time.
*** Both Makoto and Kei become rather addicted to being women. When Kei first brings up becoming addicted to it, the comic temporarily cuts to Makoto with captions pointing out that he's "A person who's not just addicted, but doesn't even want to go back to the old body."
** ThirdLawOfGenderBending: Makoto starts out exploiting her new "female power" by convincing her first male date to buy her expensive designer clothes. it does not go as she expected it to. And everyone expects Makoto to dress as a woman after the CosmicRetcon.
* GenderBlenderName: Makoto is one of the more common ones.
* GenderBenderFriendship: Makoto and Iwanami's relationship actually follows this dynamic more often than JumpingTheGenderBarrier. Makoto actually tries for a Gender Bender Friendship with Kojima but those darn pheromones induce Kojima to push it all the way to FriendsWithBenefits.
* {{GIRL}} Makoto's hobby, which attracts the goddess' attention in the first place.
* {{God}}: In this case it's a hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity, Nandikesvara, who grants Makoto's wish to experience the "easy life" (as he sees it) of a young woman. She's not [[GodIsEvil particularly evil]] but she does [[ForTheLulz seem to be deriving some entertainment]] out of Makoto's plight and [[BlueAndOrangeMorality she has an odd way of defining the lesson she's trying to impart.]]
** Nanashi was one as well. Or he may have been a {{Youkai}}. During their first meeting Kei points out that possessing someone is something a demon would do, not a god, which proves to be Nanashi's BerserkButton. However when Nanashi starts to worry about which is really true Kei reminds him it doesn't matter as he simply is who he is.
* GrassIsGreener: Makoto believes young women have it better in life because they can exploit young men for attention, money and gifts. After he becomes a woman he quickly discovers that young women face enormous pressure to "put out" in exchange for that attention, and that's just ''one'' of the downsides. Others include getting hit on constantly and getting groped on the train.
** Makoto eventually becomes convinced that life actually ''is'' better on the distaff side despite the downsides. Unfortunately it's through the old cliche that sex is inherently more pleasurable for women.
* GreenEyedMonster: Kei is this toward Makoto, which leads to the deimu taking over.
* IfItsYouItsOkay: Kojima seems to not mind being with Makoto, even as a girl. Later, Iwanami starts to feel the same way [[spoiler: especially after she turns into a guy.]]
* IDidntMeanToTurnYouOn: when Iwamami, more than a little bit drunk, decides to investigate [[IncrediblyLamePun just how deep]] Makoto's change goes and gets more than a bit carried away--ForScience, of course--in the course of her physical examination.
* IKnewIt: [[invoked]] Makoto uses this trope by name to accuses Iwanami of being a lesbian after she takes a marked (at the time platonic) interest in him as a woman. She vehemently denies it. [[spoiler: Considering she later makes out with him and even has sex with him as a girl, this is rather ironic.]]
* ImagineSpot: Makoto has several of these, mostly played for FanService, often imagining the horrible things that could happen to her now that she's a woman.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: Kojima eventually steps aside for Iwanami, even helping Makoto patch up his relationship with her after a NotWhatItLooksLike scene.
* JustWokeUpThatWay: Makoto's initial transformation, followed by a SecondEpisodeMorning after Nandikesvara reveals her hand in his transformation.
* TheLoinsSleepTonight: Makoto turns back into a man while with Kojima, but suffers performance anxiety.
* LovesMyAlterEgo: Kumada had only seen Kei's female form once, but [[LoveAtFirstSight fell in love pretty much immediately]]. When Kei finds out about it, he tries to convince him to give up on that girl.
* ManIFeelLikeAWoman: Makoto immediately feels herself up after transforming.
* MeaningfulName: Nanashi means no name, as the ex-deity has long since lost his name.
* TheMindIsAPlaythingOfTheBody: Both played straight and ''inverted''. Though Makoto is more emotionally fragile as a girl, he can temporarily change back to male when showing self confidence. So the mind is a plaything of the body, but the body is also a plaything of the mind!
* {{Moe}}: [[invoked]] Makoto as a girl has a talent for evoking this, often intentionally, and this is frequently lampshaded.
* NobodyPoops: Averted, Manaka is depicted sitting on a toilet, if only to demonstrate how much Iwanami is willing to invade her personal space.
* NoOntologicalInertia: Makoto's young cousin Minaka is the only one who remembers Makoto wasn't always a girl, and even she isn't completely sure she isn't mistaken.
* {{Omake}}: Rather goofy 4koma panels at the end of each chapter featuring Nandikesvara in some rather amusing scenarios. Also, she is shown to like playing MMORPG's.
** Also, rather oddly for omakes, they do get referenced in the main story.
* OutOfFocus: Makoto and Iwanami get minimal time in the story when it temporarily shifts over to Kei's story.
* PowerPerversionPotential: Makoto originally decides to take his transformation in stride and enjoy it. That is, until he learned the reasons he acquired it and the downsides it would entail.
** Later [[spoiler: Iwanami starts to enjoy her male transformation, especially in the bedroom, and makes Makoto her almost literal bitch by the end of Volume 2.]] She gets over it.
* PsychoLesbian: Mild, PlayedForLaughs version in Yagami, a friend of Iwanami who is also a doctor. She lusted after Iwanami since their school days and was shot down, but this apparently didn't faze her too much, and she immediately gets a little CuteAndPsycho regarding Makoto as a girl, which annoys Iwanami.
* SoBeautifulItsACurse: A rare literal example as Makoto's female form literally does result from an actual curse. In addition Makoto's petite and pretty female form (not to mention the pheromones she emits) tends to attract molesters and rapists like moths to a flame. Even Iwanami is a little too pushy when she's a man.
* TheChewToy: At least part of what happens to Makoto makes him one of these.
* WelcomeToMyWorld: Pretty much the whole point of what happens to Makoto, albeit indirectly.
* WhenAJerkLovesATsundere: Makoto and Iwanami are an outstanding example of this, but unlike most examples where the guy's faults are blown out of proportion and the girl is overly violent, Makoto really can be a total male pig at times and Iwanami is often quite justified in her levels of anger in response to his actions.
* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: Both Iwanami and Kojima are very protective of Makoto. Makoto lacks the strength and the inclination as she was neither violent nor protective even as a boy.
* YamatoNadeshiko: Rei Kojima has the look in comparison to Iwanami, but her demeanor is nothing close to this.
* {{Yandere}}: Both Iwanami and Kojima have shades of this for Makoto.
* YouCanSeeMe: While [[spoiler: Iwanami]] never finds out about it, Jouno can see that [[spoiler: she's actually a woman despite Nandikesvara disguising her as a male to the world.]]
