''Eat-Man'' is a 19-volume manga by Akihito Yoshitomi probably best summarized as an episodic parade of SchizoTech CyberPunk [[TheWildWest Wild West]] BadAss.

The hero of the story is Bolt Crank, a BadAss dude who has the ability to eat anything, then re-create it, whole and functional, from his arm. This is, more often than not, a [[{{BFG}} ridiculously large gun of some kind]]. He typically travels the world, righting wrongs and spending a surprising amount of time helping young couples get together despite enormous odds. An anime adaptation was made in 1997, animated by StudioDEEN and directed by KoichiMashimo.

!!This series contained examples of:
* {{Acrofatic}} (Roberto Silvka)
* AloofBigBrother ([[spoiler:Leon, who acts like one at least]])
* AttractiveBentGender (Dean Wolfstar, a shapeshifter)
* AwesomeMcCoolname ('''Bolt. Crank.''')
* BadAss
* BadAssGrandpa (Nick, AKA "The Genius Explorer." Despite being long retired and ''way'' past his prime, he still manages to do more damage to Bolt in a one-on-one fight than anyone else in the series.)
** [[spoiler: Bolt himself may count, as he's implied to be a immortal being who ''creates universes''.]]
* BadAssLongcoat
* {{BFG}} (So very, very, very many examples, most of them wielded by Bolt. One handed.)
* {{BFS}} (The Boer Sword deserves a special mention for having a length that's about twice its wielder.)
* BecomeARealBoy ([[spoiler:The point of Leon's {{plan}} is to turn Stella into a real girl.]] Not that it works, mind you.)
* BishieSparkle (Bolt, [[http://www.mangafox.com/manga/eat_man/v13/c003/40.html As seen in Amy-Vision.]]
* ByWallThatIsHoley (Invoked by Bolt [[http://www.mangafox.com/manga/eat_man/v13/c005/27.html here.]]
* CatchPhrase ("I don't care if you believe me or not!")
** And to a lesser extent, "Ate it" and "Complete!"
* ChekhovsGun (Series MVT. Typically when Bolt is first introduced, he'll be chewing a gear or a widget or something. Expect that to turn out to be the final piece of some massive WaveMotionGun.)
** Lampshaded at one point when Bolt actually panics after [[spoiler: (not quite)]] losing a tidbit. Its purpose is never revealed, though.
* CloningBlues ([[spoiler:Leon]])
* CrazyPrepared
* EvilTwin ([[spoiler:Leon.]] I know, if the series bothered to take itself seriously, this would probably induce a few EpilepticTrees.)
* ExactlyWhatIAimedAt (Bolt throws a sword in [[spoiler:Stella]]'s direction. She thinks he missed... Until the guy coming at her from behind picks it up and cuts her in half.)
* ExactWords (Bolt sometimes takes jobs from very shady or outright evil people, and being a professional, never breaks his contracts. Every single time though, he will interpret the contract extremely literally and end up screwing his contractor.)
** Hard, possibly inspired by seeing Bolt in action, tries to pull this during the Eurydice arc. [[spoiler:It almost doesn't work.]]
* ExtremeOmnivore
* FacialMarkings
* FlowersForAlgernonSyndrome (The cure for Future's memory loss/mental regression in the Big Generator Arc.)
* FunWithAcronyms ('''M'''oving '''O'''f '''L'''imited '''E'''nd point.)
* GambitRoulette ([[spoiler:Leon]]'s plan. Doesn't work.)
* GenerationXerox
* GentleGiant (Bolt is more inexpressive than stoic and is shown to be very kind and considerate.)
* HeroicSacrifice (Several times during the MOLE arc.)
* HopeSpot (During the MOLE arc, [[spoiler: Macus has his legs cut off and is set adrift in Zero G. Bolt pulls out the yo-yo [[ChekhovsGun that he ate earlier]] and flings it in Macus' direction... But the string isn't long enough.]])
* HugeGuyTinyGirl seemingly every single GirlOfTheWeek Bolt encounters. [[http://manga.animea.net/eat-man-chapter-1-page-1.html played with in the first chapter]]
* HumongousMecha (Garron)
* HyperspaceArsenal (Bolt's is both justified and of a particularly epic nature)
* ImplacableMan (Bolt never fails to come back and finish his job even after he starts getting visibly injured. He was ImmuneToBullets (or at least impossible to hit) earlier in the series, as well)
** There was a point where he survived getting hit by a ''missile'' which failed to explode and became embedded into his chest thanks to a train he ate. Seriously.
* InNameOnly: The anime adaptation had little to do with the story and only featured the main character.
* InsaneTrollLogic (Hard was hired by [[spoiler:Stella]] to bring Eurydice back to her sister. Later, after [[spoiler: Stella replicated herself]] and Bolt hired Hard to help out, Eurydice asks him to finish the job to bring her to her sister. His logic in refusing to do so is that [[spoiler: Stella]] was the one to hire him to do that, now that there are [[spoiler:"so many Stellas"]] it's "Only logical to finish what Bolt hired me for first."
-->'''Eurydice:''' "What kind of logic is that!?"
* IronicEcho ("You said you would have a "go" with me, right?" As well as [[CrowningMomentOfFunny "They're from a different world."]])
* MeaningfulName (Bolt's favorite foods are bolts and cranks. Some old work companions gave him the name because of that, since he lacked one before.)
* MoreDakka: One of Bolt's many BFG's managed to entirely pulverize the walls around one floor of a tower. It's a ''machinegun''.
* MultipleChoicePast
* TheNicknamer
--> "I'm the captain of this volunteer squad, Macus. I'm the one that gave them these cool nicknames."
* NinetiesAntiHero Bolt. Cocky, quiet, ruthless, and pragmatic (at least in theory). He even has the dated outfit.
* ThePlan: (Teromea's plan. Works.)
* TheQuietOne (Bolt rarely ever talks and changes his expression even less often, though this is more of a personal quirk rather than due to any form of psychological issues. He's simply quiet.)
* RazorFloss (Mark's weapon of choice. He's good enough to use it to bisect incoming bullets.)
** Bolt himself uses it during the "My Adventure" arc.
* TheReveal [[spoiler:(Bolt apparently created the series universe using his ability. He makes a new one at the end and it is implied that he will continue WalkingTheEarth after going there)]]
* TheRival (A few, some self-proclaimed only and others who are at least a bit credible. Bolt has apparently inspired many explorer wannabes to follow in his footsteps as well, and all of them have a strange desire to take his title)
* RobotGirl (Stella, among many others)
* RuleOfCool
* ScarfOfAssKicking (Silvaka)
* SchizoTech
* ShoutOut (Silvaka's outfit looks a lot like that worn by Series/KamenRider.)
* SoulCuttingBlade: One issue has Bolt consume and produce the blade of a sword created by a blacksmith who didn't create swords to harm people's bodies, but to cut their souls.
* SoylentGreen: [[spoiler:The "special dish." Not exactly people, but mushroom which grow on corpses.]]
* SpotTheImposter (Bolt will occasionally have Chuck act as a decoy, but Chuck has a vastly different personality -- Warren realizes that he's an impostor when he sees "Bolt" laughing and chatting it up with a bunch of ladies. It ''does not'' help that "Muwahahaha" is practically his catchphrase.)
* TheStarsAreGoingOut (Referenced in the Big Generator arc [[spoiler:as something that the Big Generator is capable of doing]].)
* StealthHiBye (Subverted at the end of the Gargoyle arc. Wanda turns to find that Bolt is gone, and runs off looking for him... But it's revealed that he accidentally fell down a a pit trap, [[BrickJoke just like he did at the beginning of the arc]].)
* TheStoic (Bolt, although he is largely inexpressive rather than cold.)
* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill (In the Misha/Mira arc, Bolt is stabbed through the heart - with a [[spoiler:''missile'']]. He lives.)
* ThrowingYourSwordAlwaysWorks (Subverted. See "ExactlyWhatIAimedAt" above. [[spoiler:And then it's played perfectly straight during the Gargoyle arc.]])
* WalkingTheEarth
* WaveMotionGun
* WigDressAccent (How Chuck impersonates Bolt, minus the accent.)
* WingedHumanoid ([[spoiler:Mana]], [[ShootTheDog but only briefly]]. Also, the titular entities of the Angel and Demon arc.)
* WrongGenreSavvy (Warren. He hears that Mana controls a superweapon, and he knows that Mana is holding onto the last bolt of a device for Bolt to eat. He makes the logical assumption. He's wrong.)
* YouJustToldMe
--> '''Ommu:''' "You'll never find where the workshop is, this complex is huge..."
--> '''Chuck:''' "The third building from the West, in a basement... the workshop is there! "
--> '''Ommu:''' "...How did you find out?"
--> '''Chuck:''' "Muwahahaha! I was just guessing!"
* ZeroGSpot (Alice offers this to her fiance during the MOLE arc. He doesn't take her up on it.)
