[[caption-width-right:350:Does [[OnlySaneMan Common Sense]] also count as a {{psychic power|s}}?]]
Kusuo Saiki is an OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent... Or at least [[IJustWantToBeNormal he tries to be one.]]

He's actually a boy with PsychicPowers. An [[TheOmnipotent incredibly powerful boy]] with [[NewPowersAsThePlotDemands every imaginable psychic ability]]. If he wanted to do so, [[PersonOfMassDestruction he could wipe out humanity]] [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt in only three days]].

It sounds like [[GodModeSue he is perfect and has everything]], right? [[BlessedWithSuck Wrong!]]. He can't [[PowerIncontinence shut off his powers]], therefore his life is void of [[SpiderSense surprises]], [[NoChallengeEqualsNoSatisfaction challenges]] or [[ComicallyInvincibleHero sense of accomplishment]]. He also needs to avoid [[FriendlessBackground social]] [[CelibateHero interation]], both because he wants to keep his powers secret and because thinks of himself [[EvolutionaryLevels as too different]] to relate to normal people.

''Chounouryokusha Saiki Kusuo no Ψ Nan'' (''The Disaster of Psychic Kusuo Saiki'') is a gag {{manga}} published by ''ShounenJump'', authored by Asou Shuuichi. It follows Kusuo's attempts in [[SliceOfLife living quietly]], [[CoverBlowingSuperpower hiding his powers]] and [[ObfuscatingStupidity avoiding standing out]]. Something that would be easier if not for his [[AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents quirky parents]] and a number of [[WackyHomeroom quirky classmates]] who insist to be friends with [[OnlySaneMan him]]. Cue lots of [[FirstPersonSmartass inner]] [[DeadpanSnarker snarkery]].

The [[Characters/ChounouryokushaSaikiKusuoNoSainan character page]] is in the development stages.

!!This series features examples of:
* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: Kusuo's parents.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: Kusuo's inner monologue is specifically addressed to the reader. Sometimes he also will do snide remarks [[SelfDeprecation about his manga and the Shonen Jump]].
* CringeComedy
* {{Crossover}}: with AnsatsuKyoushitsu.
* {{CloudCuckooLand}}: Interestingly both played straight and {{Subverted}} [[spoiler: Saiki used his power to make people believe unnatural things to be natural, essentially creating all the weirdness so his own bizzare appearance blends in.]]
* DeconstructiveParody: Each psychic ability is taken to its logical and hilarious conclusion.
* EvolutionaryLevels: Kusuo thinks he's different enough to be considered a different species, the next step in the human evolution. [[spoiler:He also thinks Nendou is below the modern man and above the neolithic one]].
* FirstPersonSmartass: Much of the humor of the series comes of Kusuo mentally [[DeadpanSnarker snarking]] at [[OnlySaneMan everyone else's crazyness]].
* JawDrop: Nendou's reasoning about Takahashi's illness cause this.
* HighSchool
* InfectiousEnthusiasm: Hairo causes this kind of situation and Kusuo plays the grumpy guy. Kusuo doesn't become really infected, but ends being dragged along anyway.
* InnocentInnuendo: Nendou creates this kind of situation sometimes, verging into the AmbiguouslyBi territory.
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: Physical Education teacher has the students to play dodgeball because [[KurokoNoBasuke basketball]], [[{{Manga/Kurogane2011}} kendo]] and [[Manga/{{Haikyuu}} volleyball]] are already being played.
* LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters: The manga is steadily moving in that direction
* LuckyCharmsTitle: This is one of the few manga, if not the only one, with a Greek letter in its title.
* OnlySaneMan: Kusuo.
* MagicPants: Kusuo uses his powers to [[InvokedTrope invoke]] this in-universe. Because it's much better for this trope to happen then to have the [[RealityEnsues fabric between the legs tear during an action sequence]], right?
* MediumAwareness: Kusuo can read the captions with expositive text.
* MyFriendsAndZoidberg: Takahashi gets this treatment in Kusuo's narratives.
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: PlayedForLaughs and {{Deconstruction}} purposes instead DeusExMachina.
* PunBasedTitle: "Sainan" ("Disaster") [[LuckyCharmsTitle is written as "]]Ψ [[LuckyCharmsTitle Nan"]] ("Psi Nan"). Some chapter titles get the same treatment.
* PunnyName: "Saiki" sounds like "Psychic".
* PsychicPowers: Kusuo, [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin obviously]], but it's implied that there are other PSI users in the world.
* {{Shonen}}
* ShoutOut: many, usually to other manga of Jump.
* SickeninglySweethearts: Kusuo's parents.
* SliceOfLife
* StrangeMindsThinkAlike: Nendou and Matsuzaki-sensei have similar ideas about [[spoiler:first aid]].
** In the {{Crossover}}, both Kusuo and [[AnsatsuKyoushitsu Koro-Sensei]] [[spoiler:regularly travel to the city of Iruma to eat irumanjuu at the Sakurayama Observatory]].
* TakeThat: At the time that {{Nisekoi}}, Pajama na Kanojo and Koisome Momiji were all being serialized, Kusuo monologues about as lately everything was about love and that romance wasn't an interesting matter, [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial but clarifies he's not talking about Shonen Jump. Twice]].
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Some characters have unrealistic hair colors, including Saiki, who was born with pink hair. [[PlayingWithATrope It turns out that]] he brainwashed the entire world into thinking that "[[InvokedTrope pink is not an unnatural hair color]]" in an attempt to [[ExploitedTrope not stand out]] from his naturally black haired peers. The result? Every color of the rainbow is now considered a "natural" hair color in this world.
* WackyHomeroom
