Sunder the Gold: I've heard something about Mario/Shotoclone characters being command style (can fight from stationary position) and other characters being charge style (must move to attack). I haven't run across an article discussing this, but would be interested to read one.

Maybe its just me, but the fact that Mario is begin described as copying Ryu by having fireball and jumping attacks seems like the exact opposite of how it should be.

{{HeartBurn Kid}}: Maybe so, but in a fighting-game sense, that's how it is. Besides which, I don't remember Mario uppercutting Koopas in his own games...

{{SAMAS}}: He can in ''SuperSmashBros Melee''.

{{HeartBurn Kid}} ... which came after ''StreetFighter'', which is exactly the point I was making. Smash Bros. Mario is a Shotoclone.

^ Maybe, but he doesn't fight that way. His fireballs aren't... viable for long range attacks, though his uppercut works the same way. However, given that the entire rest of his fighting style is different, I don't think he's a Shotoclone. He and Luigi are [[Luigification Luigified]] [[Shotoclone Shotoclones]] of eachother, though.

MasamiPhoenix: Removed Yun and Yang (from StreetFighter III) from the list, as they don't have fireballs, and their uppercut move (the rising kick) is also a charge attack (well, Yun loses that power in the second game).

{{HeartBurn Kid}}: Removed Biff and Gunloc from ''Slam Masters'', as... well... they aren't shotos. They don't have projectiles, they don't have uppercuts, and they ''do'' have rapid-punch moves. I think the troper who added them meant to put them in RyuAndKen.
