{{yyz}}: I don't know which part of the {{Characters}} hierarchy this would go under.

KendraKirai: Mikoto...really isn't that goth-y. She's too cheerful, doesn't wear the clothes (When she ''wears'' more than the mininum amount of clothes)...

I'm going to look through my collection for pictures of a PerkyGoth. Give me an hour or two and I should have one. :)

{{Seth}}: I could upload one of my pictures of Death of the Endless if you can't find something.

Oh and ArchetypalCharacter is where this would fit

{{Ununnilium}}: Death of the Endless would be perfect here. And PerkyGoth is ''not'' an archetype. Defintely goes in CharactersAsDevice.

{{YYZ}}: Aw cripes, how the hell did I forget Death? The most famous PerkyGoth of all time and I left her out!

LooneyToons: Re: images. Why not get a picture of Gilly The Perky Goth from John Kovalic's Webcomic ''[[http://archive.gamespy.com/comics/dorktower/page.asp?id=4 Dork Tower]]''?

{{Seth}}: My reasoning is Death is hotter. That about all though.

LooneyToons: I offered that suggestion before I saw the image of Death. It works well. Forget I said anything.

KendraKirai: I just want to share [[http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1151118193463.jpg These]] [[http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1151527498768.jpg images.]] [[http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1153169117382.jpg This one too]], even though Vanilla is ''not'' perky at all. :)

{{Tzintzuntzan}}: I can't figure out for the life of me why Nico is a PerkyGoth. The further into her series, the more she becomes an angsty, tortured soul (and she has good reason for that).

{{Seth}}: I was thinking the same thing. I think the issue is that she isn't stereotypical goth. Which as far as i can tell - there is no such thing. The stereotype of a goth is from an external perspective. They are all normal people when you talk to them, they just wear lots of black.

MorganWick: And earrings. And tatoos. And makeup.

{{Lale}}: So it sounds like the depressed, suicidal, New Age-{{Otaku}} stereotype is just that, and the PerkyGoth is closer to TruthInTelevision.

{{Ununnilium}}: More like they're both extremes, and real people fall all along the spectrum.

KimikoMuffin: And upon seeing this page's title, I shouldn't have worried about whether or not I'd have to add Death. ;)
----

{{Ununnilium}}: ...you know, I just realized; we don't have a page for the "regular" Goth stereotype.

{{Seth}}: I was hoping no-one would notice that :( {{Goth}} - Nico would be moved over.

{{Redname}}: Well, we don't have an article for the {{French}} either; reality isn't really our ''thing.''
----

{{Ununnilium}}: Would Lydia from ''Beetlejuice'' count, either in the movie or in the animated series?

{{Lale}}: Definitely not in the movie- she was on the verge of suicide! I don't remember much about the show.

{{Andyroid}}: I remember the show, and I'd say animated Lydia was definitely a PerkyGoth.
----
LooneyToons: After letting it sit for some months, and thinking about it, I'm pulling the Mikoto/Mai-Hime example. I don't see Mikoto as Goth in any way, shape or form. Oh, and I yanked some natter. Stashed below for restoration if someone ''really'' wants to:

* Mikoto from ''{{Mai-HiME}}'' is a borderline case. She's too much a literal RaisedByWolves to be consciously and deliberately gothy, but she definitely shows some of the symptoms.
** Wait, Mikoto is a goth?

**Really? I had always considered her more TheDaria. She wasn't all depressed, sure, but she's hardly "perky" either.
----
UltiS.: Sorted things up, mostly.

ConversationInTheMainPage:

*** There are people who do that? D:
**** Bet yer ass they do.
***** And it's good. Think of it as a real life ''RedShirt'', since sane people on both sides of the Goth Divide can spot the dweebs that don't get [[http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lgST4021.jpg Ruby Gloom]] OR ''HappyBunny'' but wear it anyway, thus making the fools easier to deal with in your manner of choice.
*** Wait, you mean they AREN'T angsty suburban teenagers? Mind=blown.
**** Oh, God, no. Some are middle aged, Goth's been around a while, all praise to J. O'Barr..

* Upcoming new character Ashley [=McFly=] in ''FanFic/PrettyCurePerfumePreppy'' is more to the goth side than perky side, as she never smiles and never had friends. Also, she's one of the few [[ForeignFanservice American]] exchange students in generic media to be, not only Goth, but also [[{{Pettanko}} flat]].

Then why is it here? Removed.
