{{Ununnilium}}: ...wait, how can something be equally likely and most common at the same time?

{{Seth}}: Its like the most landed on square in monopoly is Marlborough Street. There is no reason statistically for it but in every tournament ever held more people land on that square than any other.

{{Ununnilium}}: Ah. Eh, I'm talking it out, since it doesn't really matter.

MorganWick: Not sure, but I think the equivalent space in the version of Monopoly common in America is Illinois Avenue. There are reasons for it; it's not far from the jail space, it's a fairly common die roll (nine) away from a railroad (which gets two Chance cards directing you to it), and it has a Chance card directing you to it.

In the Brit version, Marlborough is exactly eight spaces away from jail, which is tied for the second most common roll on a set of two die with six. It's also seven spaces (which is ''the'' most common roll) away from Pall Mall, which also has a Chance card directing you there. Oh, and unlike Bow Street it's accessible from Marylebone Station, another Chance card-directed space (not sure if you're counting Chance or Community Chest spaces).

Jail is the most common space in any version of Monopoly to end up on, even though it's not really possible to actually ''land'' on it, because you can get there in so many different ways, including the "Go to Jail" space that will send you there no matter what. (The differences in probabilities for landing on any given space is rather small anyway.)

{{Ununnilium}}: Yeah. I was going to mention the actual reasons for these things, but figured it was moot with "doesn't really matter".
