{{Ununnilium}}: Does '''warning Harry Potter spoilers''' [[spoiler:Snape count for this?]]
{{SAMAS}}: Probably, but that would require an explanation, and I would hold off on that for a month or so, to discourage lynch mobs.
{{Ununnilium}}: Oh, indeed. Just putting it up there.
{{Lale}}: No because [[spoiler:he was a villain, then he made a HeelFaceTurn pre-series and became TheAtoner, working as TheMole, but he was never anything in-between a villain and good guy. Anything questionable he had to do like not lifting a hand to stop murders occurring right in front of him would fall under IDidWhatIHadToDo.]]

{{Jefepato}}: Isn't "justly but 'excessively'" a bit oxymoronic? (Actually, I wonder if the Disgaea entry reveals too much even outside the spoiler tags...)
----
{{Jolanda}}: I think this deserves a better name. I mean, it's a pretty awsome concept, and a pretty lame name... no, can't think of anything, sorry... just thought I'd mention this in case someone more creative comes along :-)

H. Torrance Griffin: Unless something happened in the last issue, the Alter example is way, way, off. She could care less about the 'States and only seeks Yorick to provide a means for Israel to survive... and incidentally provide insure a lot of external enemies to forstall internal squabbles. [[spoiler:The fact that she has falsified antisemitic crimes and murdered at least two subordinates who pointed out her forgeries, atop the little detail about shooting her way out of a court martial, make it clear how far down this road she has gone.]]
Lavode: Agreed, especially since it turned out she [[spoiler:really just wanted Yorick to kill her.]]

The SilentHill example sounds rather unlike the series. I was under the impression that any "paradise" talked about by cult-type people usually referred to a world under the complete control of the CosmicHorror. --DocumentN

{{Caswin}}: I'm not sure I quite get what this page is talking about. Is it for actual villains who are misguided enough to fight for their own ends, but realize what they're doing is wrong? Or do characters who make a career out of [[IDidWhatIHadToDo doing what they had to do]] fall under this heading? The example I have in mind is ''{{Mai-HiME}}'', which features an interesting contrast between Mashiro and Nagi not in what they actually do, but in their ''approaches'' to [[spoiler:forcing a dozen school-aged girls to effectively fight to the death in order to stave off the end of the world for another three hundred years]]. The former beats herself up every step of the way and encourages one of them to find a better solution if she can, while the latter can be summed up with a gleeful "Dance, puppets, dance!" (Of course, the last episode promptly went and ignored every moral subtlety and violation in the series in favor of a big happy fight, but we'll ignore that for the moment.) Does someone like Mashiro belong on this page?
